Answer:	Be sure to refrigerate after the pouch is opened. Could not say how long a smoked fish will last refrigerated, but my sense suggests it's best to consume within a few days. I usually consumed the product within 3-4 days.

Answer:	It's full of water. And it was awful with all the liquid. The taste of smoke was barely there. I too thought I was buying a 'dry' smoked salmon. I sent it out to all my family(ies) across the country and sent one to myself as well. Very, very disappointed. It was one of my earlier buys on Amazon, about 2010. And just haven't bought much more of anything since that time. I only buy online if I know exactly, exactly, exactly what I am getting. Good luck!

Answer:	The salmon is packed in a mixture of water and vegetable broth and the broth does include soy. I'm not sure that qualifies as "diluting" the product. Most canned/packaged fish/meat products have traditionally been packed in oil or water. The water-packed product is healthier, but the oil keeps the product more moist and flavorful. I am guessing the manufacturer used the vegetable broth/water mixture as a healthier alternative to packing the product in oil.

Answer:	On my order I did not notice any expiration date. The fish is smoked, then vacuum packed. It requires no refrigeration, until it is opened. And with me, if it is open, it is gone! Mine was very flavorful!

Answer:	On this past order all 12 packages had an expiration date of June 2016. We have already gone through 6 packages. I really don't think that they are going to last until then. LOL.

Answer:	This is not wild caught salmon, it is not from the pacific. It is farm raised. The package says "wild salmon" but not "wild caught". If it doesn't say wild caught than it is farm raised. I always eat wild caught only but I wanted some salmon in a pouch and this is all the store I was at had. I could immediately tell a difference in the color, taste, and smell. This is definitely farm raised, does not taste anywhere near as good as wild caught.

"Google" what 5oz of salmon generally should include (the ingredients of this package is as follows: pink salmon, water and salt.. roughly 120 calories/package, 28g/protein, 2g/fat, 0 carbs, 360mg/sodium - 320mg/potassium, 60mg cholesterol = roughly per package 5oz!)I enjoy this product right out of the package but everyone's taste are different.

Answer:	I ordered my box in May...just opened up on July 4th. It's vaccum sealed and the Salmon is smoked, should last a very long time unopened. It's very delicious!

Savory Salmon Cakes Recipe

1 can (6oz) Wild Planet Wild Salmon - 1/4 cup bread crumbs - 1/4 cup chopped bell pepper - 1 egg - 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley salt and pepper, to taste - 2 Tbsp olive oil

In a bowl, combine salmon and juices from the can. Break up salmon and mix to combine with juices. Add bread crumbs, bell pepper, egg, parsley. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Form into six or seven mini cakes. Heat olive oil in a nonstick skillet and saute salmon cakes until lightly browned, about 2 or 3 minutes each side.
