User questions & answers
Question: | How do i trim a lucky bamboo plant |
Answer: | You do not need to trim it. |
Question: | How many stalks are in this product offering |
Answer: | It has 4 stalks. I was told that 4 stalks are rarely given, yet alone made as an arrangement, as the word for four in this culture sounds very alike/similar to the word for death. So basically, giving someone a 4 stalk plant is considered an insult, basically a death wish or REALLY bad luck. I decided to keep it, as it really is a unique design, but I would suggest that the company do their research on the symbolism of the number of stalks in the arrangements of plants. |
Question: | how often does this plant need food |
Answer: | All it needs is water. When the water level is down fill up using tap water almost every 2 weeks or so. Every other month you may have to clean it by removing rocks etc and washing. I do say that for my plant the Heart shaped part died within few weeks and I cut it off the rest of the plant is still live. |
Question: | How do you keep this alive? Does it neex to be repotted |
Answer: | Very easy to care for! I simply placed mine in a 3 by 4 glass mug filled with colored marbles. I keep the water filled, rinse it completely with clean water 3 or 4 times a month. Amazon sells a special bamboo fertilizer that I use once a week when adding water. Its grown 4 inches since I bought it and is very healthy. Hope this helps...beautiful plant! |

Question: | Does this plant require sunlight? My office does not have any windows and I need something that can survive without sunlight |
Answer: | Do you have a light at your desk? If you do then you can replace the bulb (many sizes are available at your local stores) with a plant light bulb & still have plenty of light to work by. User questions & answers
Question: | Does this arrangement come assembled? How is it packaged |
Answer: | In the description it notes that the vase comes with the arrangement...mine came unassembled, with the bamboo well wrapped with water, the medium (porous "rocks") in a separate bag and the vase securely sealed in bubble wrap. All I had to do was put the bamboo in the vase, arrange the medium around the bamboo and add water. Some of the reviewers said the vase they received was not as pictured. Mine was exactly as pictured and I love it!! Make sure to put it in a spot that does not receive direct sun - they love light, but not direct sunlight - it burns the tips and they don't grow as well. Hope this helps. Oh yes, I've had mine for over a year and it has doubled in size and is looking great. In all I have 6 Lucky Bamboo plants I bought on Amazon.com and they are all growing like wildfire! |
Question: | Am i suppose to keep the plant in the squishy soil that it comes in, once I put it in the vase with water |
Answer: | I just put them in water. They're STILL doing fine. |
Question: | Does it include all spiral bamboo |
Answer: | Two of the stalks were spiraled and the other 5 were straight. I think the one they shipped me looks better than the one they have pictured. |
Question: | Does it come with rocks or soil for the bamboo? I ordered this as a gift and it did not come with anything to hold the bamboo. Thank you |
Answer: | no, just the bamboo and container. you don't need soil - I had some left over gravel that I put in the container to hold it up. you can get that at Walmart Joannes etc. |
