13 best organic oatmeals
Organic oatmeal is a breakfast food made from organic oats, which are grown without the use of synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or genetically modified organisms (GMOs). It is a popular and nutritious choice for a wholesome morning meal. Here are some key points about organic oatmeal:
Organic Certification: Organic oatmeal is typically certified by relevant organizations, such as USDA Organic in the United States or similar certifying bodies in other countries. These certifications ensure that the oats have been grown and processed following specific organic standards.
Whole Grain: Organic oatmeal is made from whole oats, which means it retains all parts of the oat grain, including the bran, endosperm, and germ. This provides a good source of dietary fiber, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.
Health Benefits:
- Dietary Fiber: Oatmeal is rich in soluble fiber, particularly beta-glucans, which can help lower cholesterol levels and promote heart health.
- Satiety: Oatmeal is filling and can help control appetite and support weight management.
- Blood Sugar: The fiber in oats can help stabilize blood sugar levels, making it a suitable choice for individuals with diabetes.
- Nutrient-Rich: Oatmeal is a source of essential nutrients like manganese, phosphorus, magnesium, and B-vitamins.
Versatility: Organic oatmeal can be prepared in various ways. You can cook it on the stovetop, microwave it, or use instant oatmeal packets. It can be flavored with a wide range of toppings, including fruits, nuts, seeds, honey, and spices like cinnamon.
Gluten-Free Option: While oats are naturally gluten-free, cross-contamination during processing can occur. Therefore, if you require gluten-free oatmeal, look for products that are specifically labeled as gluten-free.
Quick and Rolled Oats: Organic oatmeal is available in different forms, including quick oats (which cook faster) and rolled oats (which have a heartier texture and take slightly longer to cook).
Steel-Cut Oats: Steel-cut oats are minimally processed and are considered one of the healthiest oatmeal options. They have a chewy texture and nutty flavor.
Convenience: Many people appreciate the convenience of instant organic oatmeal packets, which can be prepared quickly by adding hot water or milk.
Customization: Organic oatmeal is highly customizable. You can adapt it to your taste preferences and dietary requirements by adding ingredients like fresh berries, nuts, dried fruits, yogurt, or sweeteners of your choice.
Energy Boost: Oatmeal is a good source of complex carbohydrates and provides a sustained release of energy, making it an excellent choice for breakfast or as a pre-workout meal.
Organic oatmeal is a nutritious and versatile breakfast option that can be tailored to your dietary needs and preferences. It's a hearty and filling choice that can help support overall health and well-being when incorporated into a balanced diet.

User questions & answers
Question: | how many ounces in total for this purchase..is it 4 x 32oz |
Answer: | no |
Question: | What is the expiration date |
Answer: | That depends on your specific order. We have kept these unopened bags in a cool dark place for over two months. There is no oil in oats, so nothing to go rancid. Once opened, we keep the oats in a sealed storage bin. I imagine they could go stale like any product exposed to air. All in all, oats are a hearty grain. Given the limitations on some of these products due to Covid, we are buying in advance to make sure not to run out. |
Question: | Are these gluten free |
Answer: | Bob’s Red Mill also has a gluten free. The amount of gluten in rolled oats is so miniscule that it depends on the certifying organization as to whether or not they are actually gluten free. In America these would be considered gluten free, but in I think Australia or New Zealand they are not. |
Question: | Am I understanding the quantity correctly? 4-32oz bags, equaling 8lbs total |
Answer: | I asked myself the same thing and yes 8lbs. It’s not a typo it’s just a good price. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Taste with Laundry detergent smell, how about yours |
Answer: | We have eaten these for a few years. Order in qty of 6 i believe. Once before they tasted and smelled like cinnamon had been added. Now, the order we made in june or july has a very strong soap/perfume/floral or essential oil smell and taste. Have not contacted the company yet. |
Question: | how are the quick oats and old fashioned oats different |
Answer: | Essentially, quick oats are just more processed old fashioned oats. Quick oats are partially cooked rolled oats that have been cut into smaller pieces so that they cook faster. Old fashioned oats are partially cooked rolled oats and left whole and therefore take a little longer to cook. |
Question: | How can you make the glutenous oat grain, a gluten free |
Answer: | Pure Oats are gluten free. Most oatmeal is processed at plants that use the same equipment for rye or wheat and so may contain small traces of gluten. Some oat fields can have cross contamination with wheat or other grains. You need certified gluten free Oatmeal if you cant have any gluten.Read up on gluten free on the web for Celiac Disease etc. |

User questions & answers
Question: | IS this four bags of 24oz? Saw one complaint on line that received just one |
Answer: | I have ordered this item 3 times now. Twice I received a box of 4 24oz bags like the one pictured. My third order I received one bag only. I immediately returned the product and received a full refund. It appears some sellers are selling the 4 pack, as they should, and some shady seller with a 1 pack. |
Question: | Is this gluten free |
Answer: | Oats are already naturally gluten free, BUT, during the process of making the oatmeal, it’s possible that a little gluten might get in - kind of like products that say were prepared at a place where ‘nuts’ are also prepared. |
Question: | I don't understand are these instant or do they have to be cooked on the stove |
Answer: | These oats are NOT instant. I cook them on the stove. Oats go in the pot first, then top with water and cook on low while you're taking your morning shower or checking emails. Pretty much cooks on its own. |
Question: | any herbicides |
Answer: | No, the EWG tested regular quaker oats but not organic. I wish they had tested the organic oats for herbicides, so we would know if they have glyphosate or not, but they did not. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is this oatmeal gluten free |
Answer: | No, it states it may contain wheat. |
Question: | Do I need to cook |
Answer: | No, Rolled oats do not need cooking. Put your portion in a jar, add your fluid of choice, mix. Make it a bit soupy. You can add anything you like. I add some combo of ground nuts, chia seeds, oat bran. Let sit in fridge overnight. It's ready. You may have to adjust the fluid amount the first few times you make it. I prefer it at room temp so I take it out of the fridge as soon as I get up, eat it about an hour later. Look on Youtube for Overnight Oats. You will find many demos. BTW there is a European cereal called muesli that is done exactly this way, raw rolled oats with other ingredients to be mixed with milk or water and eaten without cooking. |
Question: | Are these oats non-gmo |
Answer: | Yes. The USDA indicates that organic foods are prohibited to use GMO’s. The back label states: “365 Everyday Value products are formulated to avoid Genetically Engineered ingredients. US law does not allow the use of GM Ingredients or seed in products labeled as organic”. |
Question: | do you use Roundup in the fields to aid in drying the grains? I'm finding that it is used frequently in all grain crops |
Answer: | I did research on this too! And I found a study that 365 is one of the only brands that did NOT test positive for Roundup. That's why this is the only brand of oatmeal I buy. Hope this helps! |

User questions & answers
Question: | I have been eating these oats as is, with almond milk and berries. They are ready to eat right |
Answer: | You can eat them raw, but the flavor will not be as good as cooked. To make it more flavorful, it's suggested to put your oats and milk into a bowl and refrigerate overnight and add your berries before eating. Enjoy! |
Question: | Is this product corn-free and free of corn derivatives |
Answer: | there is no corn in it. just whole grain rolled oats. I have purchased this by the 6 pack 9 times now and I am very happy with this product. |
Question: | Does anyone know what the expiration date is for the recent shipments of these oats |
Answer: | I bought some about a month ago and the date on them is Sept. 1, 2020 |
Question: | Do you know if this contains glyphosate |
Answer: | It does not contain glyphosate. USDA certified organic foods are not treated with any chemical whatsoever including Roundup. Any food stating it is USDA certified organic has met the strict requirements of years worth of chemical free land use where food is grown. GMO has nothing to do with being grown necessarily chemical free. GMO based foods are genetically modified by scientists to be immune to certain pest and chemicals. It can indicate the plant is tolerant of herbicides or has a BT gene that insects won’t eat. Some plants have both “technologies “. IMHO and as a farmer stay away from GMO foods and meat grown consuming these foods. They’re more dangerous than conventional grown crops (non organic). I try to eat organic and non GMO and this brand is both. And for the record most farmers do not support the use of GMO foods. They are forced to use this technology because of major corporations taking away the alternatives. Vote against these chemical giants. |
