12 best organic oatmeal

Organic oatmeal is a type of oatmeal made from organically grown oats. It falls under the category of breakfast foods and is a popular choice for those looking for a nutritious and wholesome way to start their day. Here are some key points about organic oatmeal:

  1. Organic Certification: Organic oatmeal is produced using oats that are cultivated without the use of synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or genetically modified organisms (GMOs). To be labeled as "organic," the oats must meet the standards and criteria set by organic certification bodies.

  2. Health Benefits: Organic oatmeal is often considered a healthy breakfast option. Oats are a good source of dietary fiber, particularly a type of soluble fiber called beta-glucan. This fiber can help lower cholesterol levels and regulate blood sugar, making it beneficial for heart health and diabetes management.

  3. Nutritional Content: Organic oatmeal is rich in essential nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Oats are a good source of manganese, phosphorus, magnesium, and iron. They also contain B-vitamins and provide a moderate amount of protein.

  4. Versatility: Organic oatmeal can be prepared in various ways. The most common method is to cook oats with water or milk, creating a creamy porridge.Oatmeal can be customized with a wide range of toppings, including fruits, nuts, seeds, honey, and spices, to suit individual preferences.

  5. Gluten-Free Options: While oats themselves are naturally gluten-free, cross-contamination can occur during processing. Therefore, individuals with gluten sensitivity or celiac disease should look for certified gluten-free organic oatmeal.

  6. Types of Oats: Organic oatmeal is available in different forms, including rolled oats, steel-cut oats, and instant oats. Each type has a slightly different texture and cooking time, catering to various tastes and time constraints.

  7. Sustainability: Organic farming practices tend to be more environmentally friendly as they avoid the use of synthetic chemicals. This can have positive impacts on soil health, water quality, and overall ecological sustainability.

  8. Packaging: Many organic oatmeal products come in eco-friendly packaging to align with the principles of sustainability and environmental responsibility.

  9. Availability: Organic oatmeal is widely available in grocery stores and online retailers, offering consumers the option to choose a product that aligns with their dietary preferences and values.

In summary, organic oatmeal is a nutritious and environmentally conscious breakfast option made from oats grown without synthetic chemicals. It provides a range of health benefits and can be customized to suit individual tastes and dietary needs.

User questions & answers

Question: how many ounces in total for this purchase..is it 4 x 32oz
Answer: no
Question: What is the expiration date
Answer: That depends on your specific order. We have kept these unopened bags in a cool dark place for over two months. There is no oil in oats, so nothing to go rancid. Once opened, we keep the oats in a sealed storage bin. I imagine they could go stale like any product exposed to air. All in all, oats are a hearty grain. Given the limitations on some of these products due to Covid, we are buying in advance to make sure not to run out.
Question: Are these gluten free
Answer: Bob’s Red Mill also has a gluten free. The amount of gluten in rolled oats is so miniscule that it depends on the certifying organization as to whether or not they are actually gluten free. In America these would be considered gluten free, but in I think Australia or New Zealand they are not.
Question: Am I understanding the quantity correctly? 4-32oz bags, equaling 8lbs total
Answer: I asked myself the same thing and yes 8lbs. It’s not a typo it’s just a good price.

User questions & answers

Question: IS this four bags of 24oz? Saw one complaint on line that received just one
Answer: I have ordered this item 3 times now. Twice I received a box of 4 24oz bags like the one pictured. My third order I received one bag only. I immediately returned the product and received a full refund. It appears some sellers are selling the 4 pack, as they should, and some shady seller with a 1 pack.
Question: Is this gluten free
Answer: Oats are already naturally gluten free, BUT, during the process of making the oatmeal, it’s possible that a little gluten might get in - kind of like products that say were prepared at a place where ‘nuts’ are also prepared.
Question: I don't understand are these instant or do they have to be cooked on the stove
Answer: These oats are NOT instant. I cook them on the stove. Oats go in the pot first, then top with water and cook on low while you're taking your morning shower or checking emails. Pretty much cooks on its own.
Question: any herbicides
Answer: No, the EWG tested regular quaker oats but not organic. I wish they had tested the organic oats for herbicides, so we would know if they have glyphosate or not, but they did not.

User questions & answers

Question: Taste with Laundry detergent smell, how about yours
Answer: We have eaten these for a few years. Order in qty of 6 i believe. Once before they tasted and smelled like cinnamon had been added. Now, the order we made in june or july has a very strong soap/perfume/floral or essential oil smell and taste. Have not contacted the company yet.
Question: how are the quick oats and old fashioned oats different
Answer: Essentially, quick oats are just more processed old fashioned oats. Quick oats are partially cooked rolled oats that have been cut into smaller pieces so that they cook faster. Old fashioned oats are partially cooked rolled oats and left whole and therefore take a little longer to cook.
Question: How can you make the glutenous oat grain, a gluten free
Answer: Pure Oats are gluten free. Most oatmeal is processed at plants that use the same equipment for rye or wheat and so may contain small traces of gluten. Some oat fields can have cross contamination with wheat or other grains. You need certified gluten free Oatmeal if you cant have any gluten.Read up on gluten free on the web for Celiac Disease etc.
Question: what is the origin of the oats....where are they grown
Answer: Only U.S. and Canada per their website.

Question: How long does this take to cook

Answer: no, just the price of sprouted is high
Question: is this the just add hot water type or do you need a cooktop

Energy

Oats are powerful whole grains. Whole grains break down to become energy that is absorbed slowly. And that’s good, because energy that’s absorbed slowly is energy that lasts. Go oats!

Heart Health

Oats contain a soluble fiber called beta-glucan. Beta-glucan doesn’t like cholesterol, but when part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol, it loves a healthy heart.

Digestion

There are about 4 grams of fiber in a bowl of Old Fashioned Quaker Oats. Fiber from a diet rich in grains, fruits and vegetables helps keep things moving through your intestines and colon.

Blueberry Banana Overnight Oats

- 1/2 cup Quaker Oats

- 1/2 cup nonfat milk and 1 teaspoon vanilla

- 1/2 cup blueberries and 1/3 cup banana, sliced

Add Quaker Oats to your container of choice and pour in milk and vanilla. Add a layer of blueberries and banana slices. Place in fridge and enjoy in the morning or a few hours later.

Baked Oatmeal Cups

- 4 cups Quaker Oats

- 2 cups non-fat milk and 1 tbsp vanilla

- 1 tbsp honey and 1 egg plus 1 egg white, beaten

Heat oven to 350°F. Combine milk, vanilla, honey, egg and egg white; blend well. Add oats; stir to mix well. Divide mixture evenly among muffin cups. Bake 15 to 20 minutes.

User questions & answers

Question: Is this gluten free
Answer: 8g sugar per 8 oz serving. Almond milk (water, almonds), sugar, less than 2%: calcium carbonate, gellan gum, carrageenan, potassium citrate, natural flavors, sunflower lecithin, sea salt. Vegan, kosher, gluten free, non GMO
Question: How do some reviewers know that these do not contain pesticides similar to Quaker Oats brand
Answer: It shouldn't have a sour taste. It should be somewhat creamy and have a faint oatmeal/nutty taste. One thing I would recommend: shake the container really well before each pour. The oat 'solids' can settle at the bottom and create a separation (which might be what you are tasting). Otherwise, you may have a bad batch and I would contact amazon to get a replacement. This is a really great milk/creamer substitute, so don't give up.
Question: Is this one the least expensive way to buy this product
Answer: Yes, it is only 6 months and I ordered cases due to pandemic but still drinking ones recently expired such as the one I am drinking now 5/18/2020 expired April 11, 2020 but it tastes like it always taste and it is BEST IF USED BY date thus it means product is deteriorating but may still be edible. If I would have know such a short shelf like would not have spent hundreds of dollars, will have to donate so can be used now.
Question: Is this 4 packs 16 oz each
Answer: My only suggestion is that you are confusing flaxseed "meal" with whole flaxseed. The flaxseed I order from this company is not ground, it is whole. My whole flaxseed DOES come in a large 8lb bag and is very high quality.

Organic Quick Cooking Rolled Oats

Bob's Red Mill Organic Quick Cooking Rolled Oats aren’t pre-cooked like instant oats. They're freshly milled from the highest quality whole grain organic oats. To shorten the cooking time, quick cooking oats are rolled thinner than other types of oats.

Oats are a good source of soluble fiber, and many believe they offer multiple health benefits.

They contain beta-glucans, a special type of fiber that attaches to cholesterol and helps remove it from the body. Beta-glucans may protect against heart disease and are thought to help regulate blood sugar levels.

Our Organic Quick Cooking Oats make a delicious and healthy whole grain "instant oatmeal" alternative to the little packets other brands offer—without the preservatives and sugar. Get a container, measure out enough oats for the week, and add in chia seeds, flaxseed meal, dried fruit, nuts and seeds! In the morning, scoop out a serving’s worth, add hot water, and let sit for about 5 minutes.

User questions & answers

Question: Can I just mix them with cold milk and have them
Answer: I use the Homestyle for Overnight Oats. I pour 1 packet of the oats into my preferred container, then I add 1/2 cup of whatever milk alternative I prefer at the time. I then mix the oats and the milk alternative. I then add fruit to the top. I let it sit overnight. And it tastes good to me. All without having cooked the oats.
Question: Does pack of 6 mean 6 boxes (with 6 packets in it each) or 1 box (with 6 packets in it
Answer: 6 boxes with 8 packets in each box.
Question: Is this six boxes of oatmeal
Answer: I would say yes. There are 8 packets in each box and they usually sell for around $6 each so I think that this is 6 boxes. I hope that I am right.
Question: Just to be sure, for the price, I'll be receiving 48 packets of oatmeal (6 pack of 8 packets

Answer: I add water to cover, plus a little more, and pop into microwave for 1:40, i.e. 1 min 40 sec. while I put the coffee on or make toast or cut fruit...whatever.
Question: I don't understand the packaging 8-count boxes (pack of 6). what does that mean? total of 48 counts
Answer: 1300 ppb which is more than 10 times the amount a human should ingest. If you call them they will brush you off and say that it’s “legal”. I could never knowingly feed this chemical laden pat to anyone. Quaker is a despicable company. If you or someone you love likes these oats try substituting Bob’s Red Mills Organic Quick Cooking oats. They are exactly the same but minus the 10 servings of cancer-causing Roundup.
Question: Confused how many individual packets do you get in this order is it 48 or
Answer: This is possibly the most unhelpful collection of answers for the question posted, lol... it's clearly a personal preference kind if situation as it's about a 50/50 split on the correct way to prepare. I would have to agree with those who said you do NOT need a cook-top. Boiling or nearly boiling water has ALWAYS worked just fine throughout the 15+yrs I've been preparing this oatmeal for myself. I must admit I am a bit intrigued by the responses that explain a longer stove-top method- mostly because the way they explain how it gets thicker as you slow cook the oats... got my mouth watering just thinking about it!
