11 best low acidic coffees

Low acidic coffees are a type of coffee that is known for having a lower acidity level compared to other coffee varieties. The acidity in coffee refers to a specific taste sensation and is not necessarily related to the pH level of the coffee. Here are some key points about low acidic coffees:

  1. Flavor Profile: Low acidic coffees typically have a milder, smoother, and less tart flavor profile compared to high-acid coffees. They are often described as being more balanced and less bright.

  2. Varietal Selection: The choice of coffee bean varietals can influence acidity levels. Some varietals are naturally lower in acidity, while others are known for their high acidity.

  3. Roasting Process: The roasting process plays a significant role in the acidity of coffee. Lighter roasts tend to retain more of the natural acidity of the beans, while darker roasts can mellow out the acidity.

  4. Growing Conditions: The region where coffee is grown can also impact its acidity. Coffees grown at higher altitudes in places like Ethiopia and Kenya tend to have higher acidity levels.

  5. Processing Method: The way coffee beans are processed after harvesting can affect acidity. Washed coffees, for example, often have a cleaner and more pronounced acidity compared to natural or honey-processed coffees.

  6. Health Considerations: Low acidic coffees are sometimes preferred by individuals with sensitive stomachs because they are believed to be gentler on digestion. However, individual tolerance to coffee acidity can vary.

  7. Brewing Methods: The brewing method you use can influence the perception of acidity in your coffee. Cold brew coffee, for instance, is often lower in acidity due to its extended brewing time.

  8. Taste Preferences: Whether you prefer low acidic or high acidic coffee is a matter of personal taste. Some people enjoy the bright and fruity notes of high-acid coffees, while others prefer the smoother and more balanced flavors of low acidic varieties.

It's important to note that the term "low acidic" is relative, and what is considered low in acidity for coffee may still have some level of acidity compared to other beverages. Additionally, the choice of coffee is highly subjective, and individual preferences for acidity levels can vary widely.Experimenting with different coffee beans and roasts is the best way to find the coffee that suits your taste preferences.

User questions & answers

Question: I have a reusable kcup coffee holder. is this coffee usable for that in my keurig? roughly how many cups can i brew if i fill the kcup for each cup
Answer: I have a Keurig also. I fill the reusable filter pod with Lucy Jo’s coffee. I have one filled cup per day in the morning because I need a low acid alternative and it is very good coffee. It is not low caffeine, but low acid. I have this coffee sent on a regular schedule through a subscription by Amazon, so I don’t run out. I haven’t monitored how many cups I get per bag of coffee. From the one filled coffee pod, I make 2 cups (measured) of coffee.
Question: No where is it mentioning the "roast". What is it
Answer: Actually, it is right on the front of the bag. The roast is medium dark.
Question: Does this coffee come in a larger bag
Answer: In the near future we will be offering a larger size on Amazon.
Question: What percent lower acid is the low acid coffee
Answer: This is a great low-acid coffee from Lucy Jo's. I've been drinking it for two months and haven't had any issues with my hiatal hernia and subsequent heartburn. I've also drunk Lucy Jo's Sumatra, which is even lower in acidity and the taste was excellent, as expected.

HealthWise

Based on 1 reviews Check latest price

Product description

HealthWise uses 100% Colombian Arabica Supremo beans, one of the highest coffee bean grades available. The company roasts coffee in small batches to ensure quality and consistency. The exclusive Techno Roasting process eliminates acids and irritants, which helps everyone who suffers from heartburn or stomach conditions exacerbated by acid. Instead of compromising flavor, this process also reduces bitterness and harshness common to other coffee roasting methods, leaving a rich and mellow taste. The same process also protects the original minerals and micro-nutrients from coffee beans included as ingredients in many health-care products. This contrasts with ordinary roasting processes that degrade many of the compounds within coffee beans that support good health. Each single-serve cup is compatible with all Keurig 2.0 K-Cup Brewing Systems. This coffee product is Kosher-certified and produced in a nut-free facility.

  • Roasted exclusively with the highest grade certified Colombian Supremo Arabica beans
  • Techno Roasting also protects essential minerals, antioxidants, vitamins and other nutrients that other roasting processes often degrade
  • The same Techno Roasting process also reduces the bitterness and harshness that other roasting methods usually leave behind
  • Compatible with Keurig 2.0 K-Cup Brewing Systems, Kosher-certified, and produced in a nut-free facility

Peak Performance High Altitude Organic Coffee. Fair Trade, Non GMO, and Beans Full Of Antioxidants! Medium Roast Low Acid Smooth Tasting USDA Certified Organic Ground Coffee 12oz Bag

Peak Performance Coffee

Based on 1 reviews Check latest price
  • Fair Trade - USDA Certified Organic - Single Origin - High Altitude. If We Could Make This Coffee Any Healthier We Would! Medium Roast. Also Comes With Free Special Report Called "How To Make The Healthiest Cup Of Coffee"
  • Healthy Coffee Rule #1) Always Go Organic. Why? Because conventional coffee is one of the most heavily treated crops. One of the many health risks is that they can act as "xenoestrogens" in your body disrupting balance for both men and women.
  • Healthy Coffee Rule #2) Coffee Grown At High Altitude Is Better. Why? Because the higher the altitude the coffee is grown at, the denser the bean. You may have heard the term "Strictly Hard Bean" (SHB) which denotes an especially dense, high-altitude coffee. This Peak Performance Organic Coffee grown in the Guatemalan Highlands is a perfect example of this. This higher elevation bean is more dense and thus of a higher quality grade. High Altitude Coffee also tends to have more antioxidants!
  • Healthy Coffee Rule #3) Single Origin Coffee Is Better. Why? Because while "Blended" Coffee like a "Breakfast Blend" might sound cool... there's a much higher likelihood that at least one of the bean varieties that went into that blend was contaminated meaning the entire batch is now contaminated.
  • Over 300,000 Happy Customers + 1-for-1 Donation To Vitamins Angels. Peak Performance is celebrating over 300,000 happy customers and we are also very proud of our 1-for-1 donation match program. For every unit you purchase, through our partnership with the nonprofit Vitamin Angels, we will supply a child at risk of malnutrition with vitamins for 1 year! So thank you for helping us continue this great cause!

User questions & answers

Question: What is the typical amount of time beans are shipped to customers after roasting
Answer: Hi Kristy, I apologize for the delayed reply, I did not know this question and answer section existed. I could go on and on about how some folks make money by creating a problem out of nowhere, and then charge for the solution, but instead I will refer you to this article: http://authoritynutrition.com/the-mycotoxins-in-coffee-myth/By "wet process" they are referring to how the coffee fruit is processed at origin, not how it is roasted. All of our coffees are wet processed except for some of our Brazils, and they are absolutely some of my favorite coffees! They are both dry processed and "semi-washed," and as a result are extremely rich and complex. We use it in our Signature Blend to add body and what I refer to as richness (some actually consider this harshness, but most self-proclaimed coffee aficionados love it). The Brazil plays very well with the Colombia in the blend, which has a much milder body character but is sweet, and the Guatemala has considerable depth of flavor, but is very smooth. The Guatemala is shade grown, and our farms in Colombia are Rainforest Certified. All of our other coffees either are or they are not shade grown. We source based on quality first, and _usually_ that criteria automatically includes environmental responsibility (if it doesn't then we address that through our Sharing Certified program). Besides being environmentally friendly, when you grow coffee in the shade, it deprives the plant of sunlight, and the beans take longer to mature. The longer they take, the denser they are, and there is a lot of flavor in that density. Guatemala and Honduras do this best, and the soil in those countries is full of sulfur from the volcanoes, and coffee plants love sulfur, so it's an ideal environmnet. All of our coffees, whether wet or dry processed are roasted for around 20 minutes at temperatures above 400 degrees, then we pack immediately into a high moisture barrier bag. We roast to order, and don't require large minimum orders from our customers. We ship to Amazon every two weeks, so the coffee is super fresh always. I should add that we roast in multiple small batch roasters, and because of this we do not have to "quench" the coffee to cool it, like many/most other bigger brand roasters. When big brand roasters, roast in 2,000 - 5,000 LB batches, water is sprayed on the roasted coffee beans to cool it, so it doesn't continue to roast (and burn) in it's own heat. I actually spoke to an engineer once who retired from a big brand roaster, who said he designed their system to add an ounce of water weight to each can, so they could increase their margins. This was back when they were packing in cans, and he said you could see a ring of rust around the top inside of the can. We would never compromise quality or Food Safety for added profit, and we want only to provide the freshest, best tasting coffee possible to our loyal customers.Hope this helps! Thanks so much for your interest!Darron "Don Pablo" Burke
Question: what kind of roast are these beans? light, medium, dark
Answer: My Best By date is on the bottom of the box, 2021-05-20 with batch: 1006224276; not black out
Question: How is this ground? I am looking for a coarse grind for a french press
Answer: Any machine that takes k-pods.
Question: Is any testing done in the United States to verify toxin or mold levels, and that the coffee is actually produced without pesticides
Answer: The Colombian brew is a medium blend but if you search for "Gevalia Dark" or "Gevalia Bold" that should return some options for you.

User questions & answers

Question: Is this course ground coffee? Or is it a fine ground
Answer: According to the USDA website: "This means an organic farmer can't plant GMO seeds, an organic cow can't eat GMO alfalfa or corn, and an organic soup producer can't use any GMO ingredients. To meet the USDA organic regulations, farmers and processors must show they aren't using GMOs and that they are protecting their products from contact with prohibited substances from farm to table." This coffee does have the USDA certified organic seal.
Question: I have celiac, is this coffee gluten free
Answer: Got no idea as to size, I use on a Black and Decker one cup brewer and Cuisinart 8 cup brewer with reusable mesh filter and it’s great. Would not use it on an espresso machine for sure as the grind is not fine enough.
Question: Is the regular whole bean medium or light roast
Answer: I used in my drip coffee maker. It’s great
Question: Can this be used in French Press
Answer: I have only purchased the whole bean. It is available in ground. I have now purchased the three pack twice. My wife and I feel it is as good as Starbucks that we did buy.

Low Acid = A Better Brew

You know how it goes: Every morning you look forward to that savoury coffee moment. The scent of fresh grounds. The hiss of the coffee bloom or the sound of it percolating. That first blissful sip.

And then…

A few minutes later you get the familiar acidic bubble rise in your throat and you wish there was some way to have your cup and enjoy it too––without any acid reflux or digestive discomfort.

That’s why we source organic low acid coffee beans. It’s our whole foods initiative to enhance the health of coffee lovers across the world, without compromise to taste, quality, or your gut lining.

Easier On Sensitive Stomachs

Tyler’s knows coffee like a knife knows its blade. Acid-free coffee can’t be grown; it can only be created. So, we took some of the highest-quality beans, developed a unique and secret roasting process, and made coffee that tastes better, goes down easier, and helps prevent any uncomfortable acidic kick back.

Fewer Trips to the Dentist

This is always good news! Most commercially-processed coffees are highly acidic, which causes damage to tooth enamel, the precious coating that gives our teeth long-term protection from cavities. Tyler’s low acid coffee does not contribute to tooth enamel damage like other coffees do. Bottoms up!

Secret Roasting Process

We created it, honed it, and shared the beautiful result with coffee lovers everywhere. But we kept it secret to keep it sacred, because coffee is sacred business––we didn’t want the wrong guys messing with your brew. We’ll share this: we stripped the harmful tannins and lipid acids so it’s a better cup one sip at a time.

USDA Organic Certified

When it comes to coffee, organic isn’t just one way, it’s the only way. Non-organic beans often contain mycotoxins––a harmful fungus. No one wants moldy coffee, yet that’s what most commercially-farmed coffees contain. Not Tyler’s. Clean, organic, better coffee awaits.

HealthWise

Product description

HealthWise Gourmet Coffees use Colombian Arabica Supremo beans exclusively, one of the highest grades of coffee beans available. The company roasts coffee in small batches to ensure quality and consistency. The TechnoRoasting process eliminates acids and irritants, which helps all who suffer from heartburn or stomach conditions exacerbated by acid. Instead of compromising flavor, the process also reduces bitterness and harshness common to other coffee products, which leaves a rich and mellow taste. The same process also protects the original minerals and micro-nutrients from coffee beans that many health-care products leverage. This contrasts with the roasting processes most often used by others, which typically destroys the compounds within coffee beans that offer many health benefits. An additional benefit of this process allows a pot to remain on a burner for hours without becoming increasingly bitter, a common consequence of other roasting methods. Similarly, you can refrigerate HealthWise coffee for up to one week, reheat it to below boiling, and the tast will remain unchanged from the original brewed cup. The total yield from a 12-ounce can, 110 cups, exceeds other brands as well since you do not have to use as many beans to make a full-flavored cup or pot.

  • Roasted exclusively with the highest grade and certified Colombian Supremo Arabica beans
  • An -approved TechnoRoasting process reduces the heartburn-producing acid common to other coffee products
  • The same TechnoRoasting process also protects essential minerals, antioxidants, vitamins and other nutrients often excluded by other roasting processes
  • The roasting process also reduces the bitterness and harshness that other roasting methods often leave behind
  • The Kosher-certified and Vatican-endorsed 12-ounce can offers 110 cups of low-acid coffee

User questions & answers

Question: How is this different than the other Sumatra Ground roast
Answer: July 2016
Question: is it an espresso grind
Answer: Gee, I don't know about a non-single serve 'bulk' way of obtaining Via, other than buying the 50-ct. single serve container, then opening all the cylinders and pouring the contents into a jar, which gives you a jar with enough instant coffee to make 50 cups. Is that what you're asking?
Question: What's the difference between this one and the others selections~? Is thisone better than the Mellow Belly
Answer: I don't know how much caffeine is in each packet, but each packet can make an 8oz cup of coffee (per directions, but I actually make a larger cup than that from each packet with no problems).
Question: How is the coffee made low acid? Thanks
Answer: Bought twice, April 2017. Both orders came with product that expired Feb 19, 2017.

User questions & answers

Question: Where is the Rain Forest Alliance logo
Answer: On the bag of Java Planet Colombia Organic I bought, the Rainforest Alliance logo is at the lower left corner of the label, above the USDA organic symbol.
Question: Does this coffee have the same amount of caffeine as non low acid coffees
Answer: I think it’s less acidic because it’s organically grown and roasted so it is naturally less acidic but I think the caffeine content is the same as any coffee. 😃
Question: can i get a rosted date that isn't 2 months old
Answer: Complain via Amazon.
Question: Which non or low acid coffee has rated best taste
Answer: The Colombian Roast is a nice, rich full flavored coffee that is not harsh on the taste buds or the tummy. I suffer from stout stomach issues so I am careful of the brands of coffee I use. Java Planet's Coffees are coffees I don't want to be without, because of the ease on my tummy and also the taste. I would caution anyone; coffee is such an individual thing. What is great to one person may not be to another. I can sing the praises of Java Planet all day, but there will be people out there who think its too weak, or isn't flavorful enough, etc. For a low acidic coffee, organic, Fair Trade and Bird Sanctuary Friendly, you absolutely cannot go wrong giving this one a try.
