Answer:	You must be commenting on a different product. Their label says 20,000mg. They get that number because this is a 40:1 potency for a 500mg extract. 500 x 40 = 20,000. So whichever product you are referring to as 400mg becoming 1600mg of a 4:1 extract would be the same, 400 x 4 =1600. And what that means is that they take 1600mg of raw maca to make a 400mg extract in each capsule. This one here they took 20,000mg of raw black maca to get a 500mg extract in each capsule, thus 40:1. It's the way it is processed that makes it more potent. Like a condensed concentrated version.

Answer:	I've read that you shouldn't eat it raw because it causes stomach issues. Mixing it with a smoothie is raw. I did do that when I first started using it but figured I wouldn't take a chance - even though I had no issues with digestion. Now I mix it with my green tea. It doesn't dissolve although I must admit the taste reminds me of my mother's chicken soup (and I've been a vegan for decades). I like the taste but I do have to keep stirring the tea and sometimes swallow a bit of wet (congealed?) powder.

Prepare the oatmeal as you would normally do (heat up in a pan and stirr until it’s mixed and the right consistency for you). Add the fruit into pieces. Open the can of coconut milk and spoon out the ‘thick’ cream. Add this in a bowl together with the maca and guarana powder. Mix this really well with a fork. Scoop this over the fruit and add the rest of the superfoods.

Maca Chocolate Energy Bar

Ingredients: 1-2 Tbsp FGO Organic Maca powder; 2 cups crispy cashews; 1 cup dates; 2 tsp vanilla extract; 2 Tbsp chocolate chips; About 1 Tbsp water as needed

Add all ingredients to a food processor and blend until the mixture is finely chopped. When you think it might be ready, remove the lid and pick up a piece to roll in the palm of your hands. If it sticks together it’s ready to form into bars. If it’s crumbly, it either needs to blend a little more or it needs a little moisture. If it is very dry, turn the food processor on and pour a teaspoon of water through the opening in the top. Continue adding water as needed until the mixture sticks together. I’ve found that somewhere between 1 teaspoon and 2 tablespoons is usually enough. When the mixture is ready, press it onto wax or parchment paper and form into bars. Wrap each bar individually and store in the freezer until needed.

Answer:	Hi Johan: These levels appear on the COAs. You'll see on the COAs that the levels of these heavy metals are all well below the levels specified as safe. Metals are common in soils throughout the world. In contaminated soils (ie - soils that have received a lot of runoff from mining or have been a dumping ground) these levels can be very high. China is one place that has a lot of this type of contamination. That's why it's important to know where your Maca comes from and to check the COAs. All of our Maca is checked and must be below the specified levels. Question:	Why does Maca smuggling cause you to raise your price
Answer:	The Chinese took 70-80% of the 2014 harvest which left a shortage. So, we are now paying 9 times what we were paying for our maca. We have two very enlightening articles on our website. Answer:	I understand that it can come from a couple of different countries. I have not proof of this only what someone else said which could be true or not that Peruvian Maca root is the best. I would research it on the internet, I usually go to Wikipedia and Buzzle but there are more if you look. It should be on the label but I also understand that herbs come under a different standard than food standards. Again I don't know for sure. If you cannot find the country of origin ask the supplier, if you can't find a link to the supplier, ask the retailer. Let me just add that of the neg reviews I have read about Maca root, most do not give enough information to really make informed decisions about it. I can tell you from experience that while some find the smell awful, I do not, it does taste awful straight. It may taste awful in some foods or drinks, I have found it is quit good in something like coco or mocha coffee drink. Some say it raises blood pressure but I have not found that, yes I did check with a cuff, but they did not say what they mixed it with which could have made their blood pressure rise. Possibly the combination of the two. Some complained of weight gain, again I did not notice any so maybe it increased their appetites, they did not say. Some complained of headaches, nausea and stomach cramps but they did not say how much they were taking. I found most recommend 1/2 teas to start. They say you should not take more than 4 teas in a day and I would spread that out over the course of the day. I started with 1 level teas in mocha coffee mix and now take two, one in the morning and one at noon. While it does energize me, it does not seem to keep me from sleeping but I don't want to test it at night since I have trouble sleeping. I hope I did not bore you but since I had trouble finding accurate information on the root, I thought I might add what I personally have experienced. You pretty much will have to experiment on your own. Just be aware herbs can interact with others and prescription medications so ask or look it up before taking or ask your doctor. Hope this helps.
