BOTH ACTUALLY RUN AT THAT REFRESH RATE WITHOUT ANY LYING, CLEAR MOTION INDEX OR ANY OTHER 'TRICKS' TO MAKE IT SEEM LIKE IT'S 120hz or 144hz. My screens actually run at those proper refresh rates. They both look better than my TCL 120hz CMI tv... which is still great. In fact, the HDR is fantastic on this screen. But... the motion is nothing close to 120hz. Doesn't even mimic it slightly for that matter. It's a marketing PLOY ONLY! Just because the manufacture/maker refuses to admit that just means they're lying to you. |

| Answer: | No, while the TV does support 120Hz and Variable Refresh Rate, it is only HDMI 2.0. However, this is not a problem because Xbox and Microsoft next-gen consoles do support 4k up to120fps, very few game will actually take advantage of this and the very few are not the Mainstream or Triple A titles. Furthermore, Developers always prioritize resolution over frame rate, therefore most games will be 4k at 30fps and 60 if we're lucky for both consoles. An example of this is the Unreal Engine 5 demo on PS5- they had to run it at 1440p just to get 30fps💁♂️🤦♂️. Basically, while the PS5 and Series X are way more powerful, the hardware and the developer will determine if the game will be locked at a certain framerate and while it may be supported I doubt that it will be practical anytime soon which in turn, makes whether or not your TV supports HDMI 2.1 irrelevant- at this current point in time. So, you shouldn't use this as a basis for buying a new TV in 2020. Stick to the basics like design, user interface, and most importantly Brightness-Color-Black Levels - Variable Refresh Rate-HDR- Local Dimming- it's a matter of personal preference, not features. |

| Answer: | This version (43S525) adds Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG), which supports HDR Broadcast TV support whenever that comes to broadcast OTA service (right now, FCC only stipulates voluntary service from broadcasters). Both versions include Dolby Vision, HDR 10. This version also includes smart assistant (Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa) built-in and a "Game-Mode" which is optimized for gaming (lower latency,...). The built-in smart assistant support can be very compelling, as is the case for myself, unless you have a smart remote such as Logitech Elite with Smart Hub (the Smart Hub would suffice by itself) which would work with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant for TV control. "Gaming Mode" with it's lower latency in the 43S525 is also very compelling versus using standard mode offered by both 43S525 or 43S517. |

Plus the apps remote control is nice since you can control the tv without needing a direct line to its ir sensor since it works via the tvs wifi. |

| Answer: | Maybe think of it this way: This TCL TV has four times as many total pixels as a regular HD TV has. When it displays true 4K content, each of those 8 million or so pixels is able to display a separate and distinct bit of the total picture, yielding a razor-sharp, photorealistic image. But when 1080 content is displayed, each 4-pixel group displays the same info, though the entire screen is filled out smoothly via software "interpolation," otherwise known as upscaling. This set does a particularly good job with upscaling. |
