Although the player couldn't play any MP4s larger than 4.25GB, when I converted some of the larger files (up to 9GB) to MKV format, and formatted the USB drive as NTFS, it played them without problems.

Answer:	USB sticks definitely work and I imagine as long as the external drive is powered it should also work.

Answer:	Ok...just thought I would share this though I think its more of a 'work around' than an actual permanent solution to the problem. Nvidia Shield Pro 2019 software version 8.2.0 (latest) Disney+ app version 1.10 (latest) Still no HDR nor Atmos available when trying to play content that should support it. Only HD and 5.1 available. But the fix and/or work around was this. Go to: Settings --> Device Preferences --> Display & Sound --> Resolution It was set at the top option: "4k 59.940Hz (default)". I had set it to the third option: "4k 23.976Hz HDR10 Ready" Once I set this option, I was able to get the Disney+ content in HDR and Dolby Atmos without issue. However the reason I think this might be more of a work around than a fix is because my Sony XBR75X800G 'should' be able to support 4k 59.940Hz. It doesn't have Dolby Vision (though I wish it did. :( ) but does support HDR10. Anyway, hope this little piece of information is helpful to some. If anyone has any additional info as to why this is or anything new that might be a better solution, I would love to hear it. Thanks!

I like them so much I ordered 2 MORE in Pistachio for my sisters anniversary present. I think they have 4 colors, deep blue, gray, aqua & pistachio. I also have several IDesign Linus lazy susans. WARM TIPS:

1. -Firmware update is necessary -- When you turn on this tv box at the first time, after connecting to the internet, please click "FOTA Update" app in the home page, if it's not the latest firmware, please follow the prompt to complete update.

2. -Netflix and other pre-installed APPs -- Most of tv boxes do not support Netflix because of the copyright issues, we pre-install the Netflix that can work, but we are not sure about the stability of the pre-installed software after update, and it may not work. So we don't recommend you update Netflix and other preinstalled apps.

3. -hulu, Disney plus, Pluto tv and other apps-- Apps can't be found on Google Play Store, you could download its apk on Browser, then follow the prompt to complete installation. Or go to 'apkpure.com' or download the APP 'APKPure' which can install the APPs you want.

4. -Voice Remote Control -- Before using it, make sure that the included 2.4g dongle is plugged into the TV box. Remember that 2*AAA size batteries are not in the package.

5. -Remote can't navigate on some Apps-- It is a common issue for almost all of android tv box that hard to navigate on some Apps with the remote( The included remote control has mouse mode: press button with "mouse" icon, then you can use navigate button to move the cursor), as these Apps are mainly provided for tablets and phones that have touch screen. You can also control it with a mouse( If you want to type with the remote, an app called CetusPlay may be more useful(Turn your smartphone into a remote control and keyboard, etc.)

Make Your TV Smarter

1. Connect X96 android tv box to TV via HDMI cable or AV cable, plug the power adapter into a nearby power outlet. Then turn on your TV and select with appropriate HDMI input mode.

2. Insert the batteries into the remote(batteries not include in the package) and connect to the internet.

3. Open ‘FOTA Update’ app and check the version of firmware, if it’s not the latest version, just follow the prompts to update it.

4. You can download the APP you want from the Google Play Store. If the software is not found in the Google Play Store, you can use Google browser to search its apk, download and install the apk of the software you want. (Most apps are available)
