Answer:	If it's anything like the amped repeater/extenders (old REC10 for example) as long as you plug them within range of your router (REC10 recommends at least 70% router signal strength) you can have each extend your router's signal in the direction they are located. That gives you an access point at each (for example in opposite directions from your router, plus extending the wifi around each. In fact, I have extended my router's range by configuring one REC10 to extend another REC10 which is extending the router's original signal. I would be will to bet you can do all of this with this Netgear unit.

Answer:	No. But it can be if your ability to extend diminishes quickly from the router due to walls, floors, tall furniture; etc. That's where wiring to the Extender (set to Access Point mode) helps

Answer:	I straight out bought mine the old American way with my money, unhindered by any promotional or free offers. Also be wary of very good or very bad reviews wherein you do not see the words "Verified Purchase" by the posters name. I'm seeing a lot more of those these days and by my thinking they must be fake reviews because why would someone even post a review here on Amazon if they didn't buy it here? Makes no sense to me. Enough of that but yes I did buy it myself and had it almost a week now and am very happy and impressed with the NETGEAR N300 WiFi Range Extender (EX2700). Mine is fulfilling my purpose for it by providing a strong and solid WiFi signal to my AmcrestPro HD WiFi camera overlooking the outside of my house. My camera's live video feed is now constant and uninterrupted and my screens on my pc, my Android phone, and my laptop all no longer freeze up while I'm watching the live feed. The NETGEAR N300 WiFi Range Extender (EX2700) is a success for me. As for the bad reviews for it I can only surmise they are from user errors in trying to use this device. It's been solid for me and I'm thrilled with it.

Answer:	It's easy. use a wired ethernet connection to connect your computer to one of the Lan ports on the router. Do not connect to the internet yet. Then follow the manufacturers directions. I recommend the smart connect setting under the wifi/configure wifi menus. Then when it's configured you are all set. If you are using a wired connection from this router to a main router, or from this router to a primary router or to a modem, use an ethernet cable to connect from the Routers single WAN port to the main router or modem. If you are using this as an access point, I highly recommend a wired connection to the main router. Performance in this mode is phenomenal. I am seeing over 850mbps down and 550 mbps up in this configuration with this router wired to an old actiontec gigibit router If you connect this router to the internet first and then use a wired connection from your computer to it most browsers will execute a search for 192.168.10.1 on the internet rather than just connect you. Not fun!

Answer:	You can buy an extended warranty if you like. I choose not to buy on because there is no moving parts and they are inexpensive to just buy another one.

Answer:	I suppose you could but it's awfully big for travel. I use something similar to a "VONETS Mini Portable Wireless Travel WiFi Router Networking WiFi Bridge Repeater AP Module" for travel. You don't need any range for a hotel room, and usually only need an ethernet WiFi Access Point.

Answer:	Depends on the wall material, but for most residential construction, yes. I use mine as a network bridge in my wood, siding, and drywalled shop building, which is about 50' from my concrete block house. It connects easily to my existing router (which is on the other side of the house), and has good signal strength. But inside a steel building, I'd guess the performance would suffer.

Answer:	Placement of the router is key, the center of the house would be best. That being said, mine is upstairs close to center of 2700 sf home, and get pretty good signal. 5G is a little lacking at the furthest points, but works.

Answer:	I have had the N900 for almost 2 and a half years and I am finding the limitation is really the number of devices and the amount of data it can handle. I am streaming HD content to 2 Xbox360's and 3 streams from an HD Home Run Prime Cable card tuner. I had to put both Xbox360's on the wired Ethernet because the wireless could not handle it. That is why I am looking at the AC68u.

Best to do this in separate windows to do a side-by-side comparison.Though almost everyone will tell you both units are exactly the same, except that one is sold online and the other retail, I would have to ask then, "Why are there differences in the specs?" You might have noticed the first difference is in the classification of each unit when you clicked on "Compare List" at the top of the webpage. The RT-AC68U is identified as a WiFi "Router", whereas the RT-AC68R is identified as a WiFi "Client". I'm no networking guru but the specific name classifications would suggest that they are different. The argument or statement that one is retail and the other online could simply be an easy way out for Asus techs to explain the difference. As one person noted in the Q&A section, they purchased a "U" version from Best buy - the vary store that everyone is saying is the exclusive seller of the "R" version. LoL.As you scroll down the comparison lists of each, it would appear that both units are up and up, the same. But, compare and scrutinize the specs carefully.1) Under "Data Rate" the AC68R says "802.11n: up to 600Mbps", whereas the AC68U indicates "802.11n: up to 450Mbps" as well as "802.11n TurboQAM: up to 600Mbps". The AC68R does not mention TurboQAM in the specs.2) Under "VPN Support" the AC68U lists Open VPN Server, PPTP Client, L2TP Client, and Open VPN Client, whereas the AC-68R does not list any of these. 3) A couple of days ago, as I compare the lists, the AC68U showed "86x64" after each of the Windows OS systems under the "OS Support" section but the AC68R did not. That seems to have been updated and removed from the AC68U spec list.4) Also, as mentioned by others elsewhere on amazon and other websites, the AC68U lists DLNA under Management Support.
