User questions & answers

Question: Will this unit play in the loop mode
Answer: Thank you for reaching out! Yes this unit will play videos on repeat.
Question: will this playback DVD +rw media
Answer: yes, it has played everything I have thrown at it, very versatile.
Question: dose this player remember where it stops
Answer: Don't you just love all the conflicting answers to this simple question? So I'm going to assume using good faith that everyone is answering truthfully. Then logically that means there are several variations of the Panasonic DVD Player DVD-S700 where this function does not work on one variation (let's say maybe the black version) and it does on the white version. How else can you explain that I just received the black version and there's no way this resume function works using any of the straightforward or convoluted instruction provided in the manual, in the answers below, or instructions found by googling. Sorry folks, if you want the safe answer, it is no this does not resume where you left off after stopping (not pausing since that would be a "dah") the episode. Just as an aside, I've owned many dvd players over the years, and this is the first one I've encountered where this function doesn't work.
Question: Why not get a BluRay player that upscales regular DVDs? Wouldn't that be far more versatile
Answer: I'm getting this over a modern Blu-ray player for a number of reasons. A. This device can be easily unlocked to play any region DVD's, a region free Blu-ray player costs around $200. B. I want a dedicated DVD player that is made strictly for that purpose as I have a huge DVD collection and not many Blu-ray's, for many Blu-ray players, the DVD aspect is somewhat of an afterthought and not the purpose of the machine, you will notice in reading Blu-ray player reviews, people often complain about their players not playing older dvd's getting error messages with DVD's ect., it is a different technology and an "add on " for a Blu-ray player. C. Modern Blu-ray players try to do too much, they have all this technology and bells and whistles, there are a lot more things to go wrong in them, freeze up and fry the machines, ect., they also are constantly getting on the internet and updating software and that can make the machine more prone to go bad too with one bad line of code or a virus. My Sony Blu-ray player jumped on the internet and reported me to Sony because it thought the disk I was watching was a bootleg, my player actually tattled on me while whatching a movie and the machine froze and I got a notice in my email from Sony accusing me of pirating. In any event for me anyway, there are a number of reasons I would choose a good basic player for $50 and not have all the bells, whistles and headaches. Here's another interesting article related to modern Blu-ray players, apparently they only work as long as they keep updating copyrights, and the company can decide at any given time not to update older machines, and you will never be able to watch newer disks once this happens. http://sacramento.cbslocal.com/2013/09/26/call-kurtis-why-your-samsung-blu-ray-player-may-not-play-your-movies/

Question: the panasonic dp-ub9000 hdr 4k uhd blu-ray player which you sale, is bd zone free abc y dvd zone free 012345678, or is only bd zone a and dvd zone
Answer: The Panasonic UB420 and UB820 can play most region B blu-rays (and I would assume region C but have no discs to verify). After inserting disc wait for region error message and then press the stop button on remote followed by top menu button twice. I have been able to play all my region B discs so far but have read that there are some discs that this trick won’t work for. This also works on my much older Panasonic BD60.. This trick does not work for DVDs—search net for some universal remote hacks to help with DVDs from other regions.

User questions & answers

Question: Would you suggest the Panasonic or Sony product in the same comparison? Thanks
Answer: This can definitely help with boosting your signal as it did mine, specially if you have long throws of CAT-5 going to distant parts of your home. But, if your signal is weak coming from your cable/internet provider, it won’t help much.
Question: Does it include a remote
Answer: Yes
Question: doe it have headphone output
Answer: I am not 100% sure, but I doubt it will work with an antenna. The purpose of this booster is to improve the gain of a traditional cable service before the signal is split (e.g. TV and internet). There is signal loss with each split. If the signal is too weak to begin with, it will just boost the noise on the line.
Question: Can you plug a fire stick into it
Answer: It worked on mine and i got more channels. I'm very happy i bought it. No more cable expense, you can't go wrong this purchase.

User questions & answers

Question: I purchased last year, does not play all regions, load a dvd and get a message that the dvd will not work in this region. how does this get fixed
Answer: No - there is no LED or other display whatsoever other than a small red dot that lights up to indicate when the power is on.
Question: Does this dvd player come with the red, yellow, white connecting cable
Answer: That is what I purchased this Panasonic. I am thinking of finding something else. What I did not know was that this has no lights to indicate if the disc is playing, and it has no digital numerical readout to indicate song time and number. Also, it will not play certain discs that I have made a label with my disc labeler...the paper makes the disc too thick and it freaks out. I have to say it has a good sound. I am playing it through a 50 watt per channel mini digital amp and listening on small Celestion 2 way speakers.
Question: I get sound but no picture. What’s the problem
Answer: Sure does.
Question: does this play music cd's and have a repeat button
Answer: It is a TV connector. If your TV has the RED/White/Yellow plus, the you can connect with that. The HDMI cable gives HI def for the 1080flat screen TVs.

Panasonic's DVD-RV31K DVD-video player delivers a combination of quality video and special features usually found only in more expensive players, if at all. Among many other features, the DVD-RV31K offers MP3 playback, robust connectivity, and an advanced version of Panasonic's simulated surround sound with proprietary Bass Plus technology and a dedicated subwoofer output.

This unit's state-of-the-art component-video outputs allow for digital video transmission to compatible video equipment. It also offers standard composite-video outputs and an S-video output. A built-in 27 MHz/10-bit digital-to-analog video converter maximizes picture quality from these outputs, while brightness, color, and contrast controls let you fine-tune picture quality.

A digital-cinema mode illuminates the picture and fine-tunes color, even in low-light scenes. Additional video features include one-touch cinema memory, freeze frame, frame advance, and black-level controls.

An optical digital-audio output channels a bit stream for DTS and Dolby Digital surround sound, fostering glorious home theater sound when decoded with an appropriate surround receiver.

Advanced Virtual Surround Sound simulates a surround effect using only your two front speakers. Furthermore, the DVD-RV31K's dialogue enhancer pumps up the center-channel output to emphasize a movie's spoken audio. A 96 kHz/24-bit digital-to-analog audio converter and dynamic-range compression (for late-night viewing) complete the DVD-RV31K's robust audio arsenal.

If you're not quite ready for 5.1-channel audio but already have a powered subwoofer, you'll appreciate the versatility of this player's discrete subwoofer output. The DVD-RV31K's pair of analog-audio stereo outputs along with its subwoofer output simulate theatrical sound by setting up a two-channel-plus-bass output that sends all low-frequency information to your subwoofer.

A built-in stabilizer and twin-laser pickup offers improved playability with the DVD-RV31K. Playback formats include DVD-video, Video CD, audio CD, MP3-encoded CD, CD-R, and CD-RW. (Please note, however, that MP3 playback may vary depending on the content and disc type used.) For your viewing convenience, Panasonic's high-speed scan comes with five speeds, and the player also offers chapter preview, updated onscreen menu icons, a front-panel jog-shuttle dial, and a multibrand remote control. Panasonic's DVD-RV31K comes in black and is Energy Star compliant. This model is covered by a warranty for a year on parts, 90 days on labor.
