13 best jvc cassette decks
JVC is a well-known electronics manufacturer that has produced a range of consumer audio and video equipment, including cassette decks. JVC cassette decks were popular during the era of analog audio recordings, particularly in the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s. These decks were designed for playing and recording audio onto cassette tapes.
Some notable features and aspects related to JVC cassette decks include:
High-Quality Playback: JVC cassette decks were known for their reliable playback of cassette tapes. They often featured advanced tape head technologies and noise reduction systems to improve audio quality.
Recording Capabilities: Many JVC cassette decks had recording capabilities, allowing users to record audio from various sources, such as radios, CDs, or other external devices, onto cassette tapes.
Dolby Noise Reduction: JVC often incorporated Dolby noise reduction systems into their cassette decks. Dolby B and Dolby C were common noise reduction systems used to reduce tape hiss and improve audio fidelity during playback.
Auto-Reverse Function: Some JVC cassette decks were equipped with auto-reverse functionality. This feature allowed the cassette deck to automatically flip the cassette tape and play the other side without the user manually ejecting and flipping the tape.
Dual Cassette Decks: JVC also manufactured dual cassette decks, which featured two cassette compartments. These decks were popular for dubbing tapes and creating mixtapes by copying from one cassette to another.
Digital Displays: In later models, JVC incorporated digital displays and controls, making it easier for users to navigate through different functions and settings.
Design and Aesthetics: JVC cassette decks often had sleek and stylish designs, blending well with other audio equipment and home entertainment systems.
While JVC is perhaps more widely known for its television and video products, they have made significant contributions to the world of audio equipment, including cassette decks. These decks were integral to the music listening and recording experiences of many people during the analog era, and they continue to hold nostalgic value for audiophiles and collectors today.

The SR-DVM700 three-in-one video recorder the all-digital formats of MiniDV, 250GB HDD, and DVD in a compact package complete with A-D encoding as well as various editing and dubbing capabilities.
From the Manufacturer
JVC introduces the innovative SR-DVM700 three-in-one video recorder. It incorporates the all-digital formats of MiniDV, 250GB HDD, and DVD in a compact package with various editing methods and six types of dubbing capabilities. Whats more, DV native format recording to HDD can be enjoyed for extended NLE compatibility. The model is equipped with an RS-232C interface to further enhance system applications. Thanks to these advantages, the SR-DVM700 is ideal for both home users and professionals as it makes media duplication and professional archiving of existing analog footage easier than ever.
Multiple Capabilities for Creating and Recording
Various playback/recording formats The SR-DVM700 can record and playback various DV, DVD and CD discs, as well as transfer them to and from the HDD. Please refer to the specifications for further details.
Multi-format capability (DVD) The SR-DVM700 is capable of recording and playing back different DVD formats. These includes recording & playback of DVD-R, DVD-RW, and DVD-RAM as well as playback of +R or +RW.
Auto error-correction system (MiniDV) Reduces annoying block noise that may occur when playing back DV and DVCAM tapes.
DVCAM playback (MiniDV) The SR-DVM700s MiniDV deck is capable of playing back DVCAM tapes recorded on the small DVCAM cassette. Recordings can be dubbed to the DVD or HDD, preserving the high quality expected from digital video and professional DV sources.
RS-232C interface An RS-232C control interface equipped with a standard DB9 connector is available for the following various functions, making it useful for professional applications, including home projection installations.
IEEE 1394 interface A convenient IEEE 1394 bus interface makes for easy direct connection to NLE systems or to a PC for downloading, editing and archiving.
Video output terminal with BNC connector (composite)
External wired remote terminal
Auto-Repeat playback discs can be made The Auto Repeat function is very convenient when constant or repeated video playback is required such as when DVD discs are used for company receptions or storefront demos.
Last-Function Memory and Mode Lock The SR-DVM700 is fully equipped with beneficial video editing functions that improve efficiency in the professional production environment. For example, Last Function Memory stores the last function performed in the memory and always resumes operation from that point while Mode Lock helps to protect against unintentional erasure of recordings.
Key Applications
The SR-DVM700 will produce a professional-looking, high-quality DVD with smooth video edits, chaptering, and menu backgrounds whatever the original video source material may be. Whats more, the SR-DVM700 simplifies DVD disc creation of finished video material in a highly professional manner without making it necessary for the user to have high PC or editing skills. Here are some key applications:
HDD editing
250GB HDD The 250GB hard disk drive offers high-storage capacity with extended recording times of up to 473 hours (when recorded in FR480 mode).
Play-list editing Video recorded on the hard disk drive can be easily divided into different sections via the play-list editing screen. Convenient non-linear editing can also be performed by adding video clips to the play-list, inserting in and out points within desired scenes while previewing the video, and shuffling scenes by arranging the play-list in the preferred order. From the chapter setup screen, the desired chapter number can be set while previewing the thumbnails of each scene, and scene editing is possible using a play-list created from these chapter numbers.
DV native format recording to HDD Up until now, it was necessary to first convert DV recordings to an MPEG on the hard disk drive (HDD) to conduct non-linear editing and then convert them back to the DV format -- a process which was time consuming and caused data degradation. However, the SR-DVM700 allows direct digital-to-digital recording and editing onto the HDD in the DV native format to reduce work time significantly and ensure zero loss in quality. For more convenient operation, the SRDVM700 can also be used as a recorder or backup device by connecting it directly to a DV camera via the IEEE 1394 connector for continuous DV format recording of up to 18 hours on the HDD, which is equivalent to approximately four DV large cassette videotapes.
Easy program dubbing Using the index navigation screen and simply selecting programs in the desired order enables easy program-based editing & dubbing when dubbing between DVD and HDD.
Live Memory Playback function To increase overall efficiency and allow checking of material when recording a master video onto the hard disk drive, Live Memory Playback Function allows playback of recorded material from any desired point. This function can also be used while recording onto a DVD-RAM disc.
Synchronized Editing System for direct dubbing from HDD to DVD Using the Synchronized Editing System function, video data that has been edited on the hard disk of the SR-DVM700 can be transferred digitally to a disc in the DVD recorder, helping to preserve picture quality and ensuring that DVD playback will be seamless with no visible edit points. This is made possible by effective use of the intra-coded picture (I), predictive-coded picture (P), and bi-directionally predictive- coded picture (B) frame information within each Group of Pictures (GOP) during editing operations. The I and P frames contain information that determines picture quality and by maintaining their position within the GOP, it is possible to minimize degradation when dubbing so there are no "freeze" pauses at edit points during DVD playback for a smooth and natural, high-quality DVD recording.
DVD Dubbing
Bit-rate optimizer for HDD to DVD recording This system analyzes the content as it is recorded on the HDD and then assigns optimum bit rates -- low for simple scenes, high for complicated scenes -- to ensure optimum picture quality while calculating disc capacity.
Selectable recording times and data rates Depending on the application, the most appropriate recording time and data rate can be selected. Copying of synchronized-edited material from HDD to DVD is normally performed at single speed (x1); however, this can be increased eightfold*. This means that by copying the synchronized-edited recording first to the DVD-R, then back to the HDD, and finally dubbing it at normal speed, reproduction of DVD discs can be performed up to eight times quicker.
*When copied to DVD-R at the maximum recording speed: 64 times in FR480 mode.
18 pre-installed and user-customizable background patterns (DVD) For extra convenience and DVD video production with added originality, the SR-DVM700 makes available 18 pre-installed background patterns. The pre-installed patterns can be modified by the user to create personal templates by inserting original photographs or graphics of their choice.
Extended recording with high-resolution pictures (DVD-RAM/DVD-RW/DVD-R VR mode) Horizontal resolution in the LP (4-hour) mode of a conventional DVD recorder is approximately 250 lines (1/2D1) but the SR-DVM700 provides more than 350 lines (2/3D1). Content that is longer than 2 hours can be recorded on a disc without any decrease in picture quality.
Super MPEG processors
- Pre-processor (HDD/DVD): When recording from analog sources, effective noise reduction is applied before MPEG-2 encoding to guarantee superior quality images.
- Post-processor (HDD/DVD): Several noise reduction features work together to clean up the image. Block noise reduction cuts "block noise" caused by MPEG-2 compression, Color DigiPure reduces 3D color noise, and Hadamard noise reduction eliminates "mosquito noise" from any DVD.
- Easy to use and connect
- Simple non-linear play-list editing
- IEEE-1394 in/out
- Extended recording up to 300 hours on HDD
- DVCAM¿ playback, RS-232C remote

User questions & answers
Question: | how can i get a owners manual |
Answer: | The CV units do now. Needs to be a SV unit to get side imaging. |
Question: | Will this fit in a 1993 Ford Mustang |
Answer: | I don’t have the exact dimensions on hand, but it fits snug under the seat of a 07-13 crew cab 1500. The front of the box sticks out a tad from under the seat. The cutouts for the woofers are oversized, I have DC M3 8’s and the holes are slightly too big, plenty of box volume and low enough tuning to sound good |
Question: | Will this fit a 2006 Hyundai Accent |
Answer: | What you really want for 2 of these monsters is at least a real 4500 watt RMS amplifier, like the Skar SK 4500.1 or a Wolfram W-4500.1 or Wolfram AW 5000.1, or Soundqubed Q-4500.1 amplifier. Be prepared to get an upgraded alternator and 3-4 big extra batteries if you don't already have it done. |
Question: | does radio come with plug for power an speaker hook up |
Answer: | Yeah, it would be good for 2 . One can handle about 2000 rms and 3500-4000 max so you might even be underpowering your subs a little. |

User questions & answers
Question: | will this work in a classic vehicle from the 60 without steering wire and dimmer wie |
Answer: | It's not a video screen so no |
Question: | Does this have a 3.5 mm jack in front |
Answer: | No. Depending on your vehicle's make and model, you will inevitably need a specific vehicle manufacturer-specific plug to connect this to your car. That harness has ten or twelve colour-coded wires (power, ground, the four speakers and maybe a few optional connections like power antenna and steering wheel remote control). The colors are standardised, but all they've given you is a plug on one end and wire leads on the other. You have to solder all ten (or more) wires and cover the resulting splices with heat-shrink tubing so that they don't short together. You may also need either or both of: * A mechanical bracket ("single DIN installation kit") to adapt the faceplate size and mounting screw positions to match your car. Again, manufacturer and model year specific. * An adapter to convert whatever connector your automaker uses on the radio antenna wire to a standard Motorola plug. Every carmaker is different. They each have their own preferred connector types and mounting bracket dimensions. A single-DIN sized radio should fit into almost any "12V negative ground" motorcar, but not without wasting an hour or more soldering various strange connectors and taking apart a chunk of the dashboard to get the old radio out and the new one in. This is true of any of the aftermarket radios; none of them include the plugs for the vehicle manufacturer's wiring harness (unless you're buying the manufacturer-specific factory radio) as every manufacturer is different. |

User questions & answers
Question: | can I record from one tape to another |
Answer: | It has a connection socket for the standard Sirius/XM antenna, but the antenna is purchased separately. The antenna has the unique Sirius/XM radio ID number you need to setup a subscription. |
Question: | Does this have internal speckers |
Answer: | The size of the unit is known by industry standards. In this case it’s a “double DIN”. You should also get a faceplate adapter and wiring harness adapter so that you don’t cut the wires in the factory harness to wire it. BUT check with a good stereo store (or Bestbuy) to see if your head unit is replaceable. Some cars like my volvo MUST be kept or the car actually will not run. In other words, do your research before you buy. |
Question: | what are the dimensions of the deck |
Answer: | Yes, I ran it behind the dash up the A pillar, it is plenty long. |

The CT-W205R offers everything you need in a 21st-century cassette deck: convenience, quality, and affordability. Convenience, because many cars have tape decks and most of us still have boatloads of perfectly good tapes lying around the house. Quality, because cassettes can sound good, and CDs have heightened our sonic expectations. And affordability, because, after all, we're talking about cassettes here, and who wants to throw a lot of money in that direction?
In this dual-well deck, one transport records and plays, while the other just plays--but both offer full autoreverse, even while recording. And with relay play (deck I to deck II), you'll get more than three hours of music by using two 100-minute tapes. A special rewind autoplay feature for deck I commences playback from the moment a cassette finishes rewinding, freeing you from monitoring the deck while the winding is in progress.
For noise reduction, the CT-W205R is outfitted with Dolby B and C (Dolby B reduces noise by about 10 dB, while Dolby C knocks it down 20 dB), and it will play (but not record) tapes encoded with S-type noise reduction. A built-in MPX filter blocks the 19 kHz stereo-broadcast multiplex tone when you're recording off the air. This gives you more accurate Dolby noise-reduction tracking and clean recordings from FM radio.
Full-logic controls offer electronic, rather than mechanical, control of the deck's transport system, giving you more reliability, smoother operation, and quicker one-touch controls. Other features include auto tape selector (normal/CrO2/metal), high-speed dubbing, auto space record mute, 15-track music search, six-LED level meters (with peak hold for setting optimal recording levels), and a .25-inch stereo headphone jack for private listening.

User questions & answers
Question: | Does it have an hdmi port |
Answer: | Not sure what a relay play is, it does have replay feature. It can play one side of the tape and stop, or it can play both sides of the tape and stop, or it can play both sides of the tape continuously. |
Question: | Is their a remote that comes with item, thank you. and i can put my vcr tapes and copy to cd disk |
Answer: | I am not sure where it is made, Japan I suppose, but it has been a great piece of equipment. Would buy it again! |
Question: | does it play vhs |
Answer: | Hi Will,As long as your computer has an analog audio output you can record on the CT-W205R. You may need to get a 3.5mm to RCA adapter as many soundcard and headphone outputs use 3.5mm jacks where your cassette deck needs an RCA connection. I hope this helps. If you have additional questions please let us know or contact our customer support team at 844-679-5350. |
Question: | does it come with a remote |
