Answer:	Generally, the player takes what's on the disc and makes a screen presentation that will be acceptable. If the disc is "standard dots per inch" that's what ends up on the screen. No player can make display information that isn't on the disc. THIS player can interpret a blue ray 4K disc and put all the info on the screen. ( I personally do not own a blue ray 4k disc as of yet, but all my dvds look good on my 4K TV.) There are no switches needed.....it's all thankfully done electronically. JSM

Answer:	Hi Jon: This blu-ray player has 4 apps that are included -- Netflix, Amazon, Pandora, and AccuWeather. There's an icon for more apps, but I don't have the Internet hooked up to the player, so can't see anything else, as they don't load/show without the Internet. More generally, I'd describe this as a basic blu-ray player, but with the obvious advantage of player capability for DVDs and blu-rays from regions around the world. That's why I bought it. In that sense, it works very well.

Question:	How many speakers will this unit support
Answer:	The answer depends on how you connect your equipment and what equipment you have. Also what type of disk you play and the audio encoding used on the disk you play. So not a black and white answer.According to page 13 of the manual if you use the BD player to decode, you will be only getting 2 ch. audio (main left and main right channel) if you set to PCM output (which is what is preset from the factory) using either HDMI or digital coax cable. Using Bitstream output AND HDMI cable AND additional compatible equipment to decode the audio you can get the best audio using DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD which have 7.1 audio. Using only the BD player you can get good old DTS and Dolby Digital and 5.1 sound but you still need another piece of equipment to understand the DD or DTS encoding and "split" the signal to individual speakers.

After hooking it up and finding out it wouldn't play most of my blu ray's, then trying to update it and finding it has no wi fi (who wants to run ethernet to the living room?) I returned it and got an lg, have not had one problem, it has wi fi (but hasn't needed to update...plays everything). Love my Samsung tv and phone but this thing was junk. Couldn't believe Samsung sells this thing. To top it off the lg was 10 buck's cheaper. Goodluck

Answer:	Well it depends, the extender is only a couple inches long so it depends how far back it is behind the tv. You may be able to get a hdmi to hdmi extender, since this fire stick plugs into the hdmi port. That may extend it further. Does your tv have a side hdmi port? That may also be a option.

Question:	How would you rate the streaming with Netflix and Amazon? Any issues with "frozen" screens
Answer:	Netflix and Plex are generally okay, but I get stuttering on Amazon probably 50% of the time which is unbearable. I would guess that this unit has a weak CPU that struggles to handle some Amazon encodes @ 1080p. I don't have this issue at all with a Roku 3 and that unit feels much snappier overall.

Answer:	No. It doesn't record. It's a nice little machine but it doesn't have a display on the front either. If you want to see what track you're on or how many hours/ minutes have elapsed, you have to display it on the TV because the player doesn't have a display panel.

Answer:	First, if you're going to use this for access to streaming, I suggest the BD-5900. It has many more streaming apps. As for HDMI cable, I recommend that if what you're attaching to can accept that. If you're wondering if you have to use HDMI, if suggest googling an owner's manual. (I exchanged the 5700 for the 5900 for the streaming reasons.)
