Answer:	I am not sure this is the answer however my local FOX is also channel 4. After scanning the local stations available none of them actually display on the box as the local channel number. As example I can enter the actual channel (Channel 4 ) on the remote and it will display as channel 1 on the box but will actually be the correct channel on the TV to watch. I just enter the actual number on the remote. Hope this helped.

OTA (Over-the-Air)

The iView Digital Box works great in ATSC, otherwise known as over-the-air or local channels. Once plugged in, the 3300STB gives you a wider range of channels you can view, with noticeably higher picture clarity. Just connect to your antenna line, scan for channels, and you're ready to go.

QAM Capability

The iView 3300STB comes with QAM, or Quadrature Amplitude Modulation, capability, a format that most cable companies use to transmit and encode their signals.

Our converter boxes are able to pick up ClearQAM channels with a monthly cable provider that offers unscrambled, unencrypted cable.

Universal Media Player

The iView 3300STB can act as a universal media player to play videos and music.

To use the media player functions, it is required to connect a USB Flash Drive or External Hard Drive to the box. The drive needs to be no bigger than 4TB in size and formatted to Fat32 or NTFS.

If the storage device has any media already saved on it, those media files can be played on the Iview Box. Selecting “Pictures” will display a slide show of any pictures in JPG, BMP, or PNG format. Selecting “Music” will turn the device into a music player. This music player can play any music files in WMA, MP3, or AAC format. The final option, “Video” will allow playback of any videos in AVI, MKV, MPG, and MKV formats. During video playback, you can press the green SCHD button, on the remote, to cycle between preview and full-screen modes.

DVR Capabilities

Connect the box to a USB Flash Drive or External Hard Drive to start recording with DVR. Plug your external drive and record movies and shows to playback later straight to your device.

The DVR function can be done two ways: A recording can start and stop using the red REC and STOP buttons on the remote, respectively, allowing for impromptu recordings at any time. The device can also schedule recordings. From there, the channel, start time, and end time can be set and the box will automatically record and end at the scheduled times. This can also be set to record daily (every day, including weekends), weekly (once a week), or just once. However, the box’s recording functions are limited to one at a time and can only have no more than 30 scheduled recording jobs saved onto the box’s memory.

Answer:	Ok I don't have this model but I have another model by same company (HW-150pvr) and it is dumping schedules too. I've had two units over 4 years and it's happened in the past but happening a lot more now. I'm on Amazon to find a replacement because this is unacceptable. I'm thinking Mediasonic is to be avoided.

Answer:	I used a 500GB salvaged out of an old laptop that was totally dead. I ordered a cheap $7.99 ORICO USB3.0 to SATA III 2.5" External Hard Drive Enclosure from Amazon as well to mount it in. Worked perfectly. I've also used a cheap (free) 32GB USB thumb drive that I didn't have any problem with. Got that thumb drive free from a Microcenter computer store.

Answer:	Yes, it does. That's the only kind of TV signals that are sent over the air any more. I set my unit up in no time and am using only an inside-the-house digital antenna and I get about 10 channels. If I had a better antenna and it was on the house or high up it would probably pick up over 50 HD digital channels. My brother has an antenna and gets over 50 channels on his big-screen. Mine is just hooked up to a little 13" analog TV. Clear picture for an old TV! Hope this helps.

Answer:	Old. Find one from the 1970"s back when they were built to work rather than look pretty. Check flea markets and yard sales. You'll need an adaptor to go from 2 wires screwed on to a 1980"s cable ready connection but its by far the best reception you'll get without a massive flagpole outdoor antenna

Answer:	Go to Menu, (blue Menu button) then hit Select (Blue "OK" button) on the 'Channel' category (shows as "CH") Then, navigate down (using White down-arrow key) to 'Channel Edit' on the sidebar menu, and select that. You should then see a full list of the channels in your lineup. Above, there are 4 columns: 'Channel', 'RF', 'Add' & 'Fav.' You can use the directional arrow keys both horizontally and vertically to move through the channels and columns and Select which you want to be in your Favorites. I really like this box. I've had other brands that made it fairly impossible to program Favorites, but this one is pretty easy. Hope that helps :)

Answer:	Yes, but you will lose some quality. You will be recording the analog signal from the converter box. You can use a splitter so that your antenna can feed into both the TV directly (do a channel search from the tv for HDTV signals) AND another cable from splitter goes into the DTV converter which goes into your DVD Recorder. This way you can SIMULTANEOUSLY record any channel from the Digital Stream converter, while watching another channel in High Def using the TV's tuner.

Answer:	I haven't installed my QFX yet so I don't know what to tell you. Only thing I can think of is that IF Ch.3 is one of your major local TV stations, you might try Ch.4 (assuming that it is NOT one of your major TV stations). In the area that is what has to be done - we can't use Ch.3. You might re-read the instructions again as it is easy to miss something in the first reading. Does the unit come with any troubleshooting help? Sorry I can't help you more.

Answer:	I BELIEVE THE DISPLAY WILL SHOW 0401, WHICH IS BASICLY 4.1 BUT BECAUSE OF STATIONS LIKE WJP-WX WHICH IS 33.10 THEY NEED THE EXTRA SPACES AND THE RADIO CHANELS ARE LIKE 33.11 33.12 ETC. YOU ONLY HAVE TO HIT THE NUMBER 4 ON THE REMOTE AND STATION 4.1 WILL BE ON THE TY
Question:	Anyone experiencing lag between audio and visual? On some channels I see this occurring but not on all, anyone know the cause
Answer:	What I have found on a similar device is the audio and video do not match on SD channels unless you use the LPCM (PCM) audio option. Since that is only 2 channel, you will not get 5.1 audio. I did not find the same problem on HD channels, but your mileage may vary. ;)
Question:	How can i order just the remote control for qfx cv-103 digital converterbox
Answer:	I don't know how you would obtain a remote control only, other than getting in touch with the manufacturer of the qfx cv-103 digital converter box itself. If they can't help you maybe they can refer you to someone who can help you. If it is the remote that came with the converter box new, then you might try the place where you bought the qfx originally. I'm thinking this might take a while to resolve. I wish you luck.

Answer:	I bought 2 of these. Never could get the date and time to work accurately. Finally replaced them with RCA boxes. However, to answer your question, according to the instructions you can program the Circuit City boxes for future shows. I did program one of mine to do so but because of the date/time issue never recorded the shows I wanted. Therefore my advice to anyone considering the purchase of a Circuit City box is...Reconsider! Get an RCA! They work better.

Answer:	Electronic Program Guide data is transmitted OTA embedded in the ATSC signal- whereas it seems that most new TVs dont decode this data- this box does decode this data. You can click OK on a broadcast and it will "book" it for recording It uses this data to set the recording scheduleYou can also program recordings the old fashioned "manual" way, so look up you broadcast schedule on the internet and go in and program the channels and times you want it to record. It is not a grid style guide- the EPG shows you the upcoming broadcasts on the current channel. To see the guide for another channel- the box actually changes to that channel to show you that channels data.
Question:	Apologies if this has already been asked: can I watch one channel while recording another with this product? Could I watch "Scandal" on ch 4-1 while recording "Elementary" on ch. 7-1, for example? Otherwise, sounds like a good option for "cord-cutting" with my LCD HDTV
Answer:	Yes, you can watch one channel and record another as long as you connect this product to an HDTV and set the modulation mode under the channel search menu to Loop Through.Although, you cannot watch a PREVIOUSLY recorded show while recording another channel.

Answer:	It doesnt come with any onboard memory for recording. You have to supply the memory with a a USB drive. The HD quality is excellent as long as it receives a good signal.For the best results you will want a thumb drive that has fast write speeds for smooth & seamless recording qaulity.Also, you need roughly 6 to 8 gigabytes of storage space per hour of recording, it varies greatly depending on the quality.It is recommended that you use a at the least a 16 gigabyte thumb drive for your own convenience.

Answer:	sherryl , - i have 3 of these boxes & i dont kno if ur remote wore-out or if u stumbled upon a box somewhere with a bad remote & or w/o a remote but anyway - i kno of only 2 brands of universal remotes that will control these units/boxes & they are the " ONN model ona13av269 universal remote" & the "ge universal remote model 24944 " .., the onn will sat up using the AUX 1 button on mine & the ge remote will sat up using the dvd & or cbl/sat buttons " .., THERE IS ONE DRAWBACK THO to each remote & those are - i cud never get either to scan for channels like i was able to scan for using the old original remotes before i wore'em out & instead have to switch channels by just punching in the number 8-key, the point/decimal key , & the the zero key/button & to get the channel right off - but i'm on outdoor antenna & i dont have cable or sat-tv .., & i can also just push say " the 8-button " & it'll scan the whole 8 frequencies til it finds a channel & that goes for any channel too.., your' tv guide or newspaper will most-likely have the exact channel numbers in each of'em for you BUT you wont be able to lock the channels in as-far as i kno of unless the box itself will lock the station in for ya & its very possible that the box will since it locked the stations in when using the original remotes.., i really havent done that much experimenting with these remotes to get them to scan for stations cuz i kno my stations' numbers, etc. alredy .., and i bought'em mainly cuz my vcr remotes wore-out at the time & kept them around to be on the safe-side after seeing that there were codes in for my hdtv converter boxes & the codes would control my hdtv converter boxes too.., i bought the ge remote here at walgreens & the onn universal remote here at walmart in the city i live in.., BUT i hope that answers your Q & aswell as any of the other peoples Qs out there aswell who might be having the same issue(s) asfar as these boxes go.., maybe u can find either one if ur still in-need of one here on amazon or at walmart if ya'll have one there where u live at - if u havent alredy run out & bought a new box or hdtv alredy to replace the remote..
