Answer:	Two remote viewing options are available: 1 - cloud P2P = uses DVR's unique cloud ID; scan QR code when adding device into phone app 2 - direct IP = uses your network's WAN IP address; requires port forwarding set up on your router for ports (by default) 80 and 8000. We offer phone support at 877-745-6246 Monday-Friday 10am-5pm EST, and via Amazon's messaging system 24/7.
Question:	Can i add a ptz camera to this system
Answer:	Enter the NVR's network settings and assign the IP address to match the subnet used by your network (eg router); or enable DHCP so router auto-assigns an appropriate IP address then DISABLE DHCP so IP address does not change. When connecting the cameras to your network, ensure they have the correct IP addresses assigned. Finally make sure the channels are set to either auto (if connecting coax cameras) or IP (if connecting IP cameras).
Question:	How far can the cameras be from the DVR if we make up our own cables

have some locations to mount a camera that are further than 100’. can i run my own network cable? if so, is cate5e or cat6 recommended

Answer:

There is not. At least I do not see any options close to this in the control panel or in the manual. The system is just looking for 'faces'... once a 'face' is detected in your predefined camera(s) and selected area(s) you can then trigger an alarm, display message, send an email, record, set a PTZ action or take a snapshot. I suppose you could set it to take a snapshot of face and send an email of when it has detected a face and use that for your log but it is not going to unlock a door for you.

Answer:	I set my 8 cam system to record only when motion is detected and I can go back and view clips from a week ago. I imagine with a single terabyte drive you can get between 500-600 hours with the H.264 encoding. So long as its selective recording, such as motion detection, etc. For continuous 24/7 recording that you would probably want to add a 4 terabyte drive to achieve the estimated 600 hours that's advertised.
