Answer:	I set my 8 cam system to record only when motion is detected and I can go back and view clips from a week ago. I imagine with a single terabyte drive you can get between 500-600 hours with the H.264 encoding. So long as its selective recording, such as motion detection, etc. For continuous 24/7 recording that you would probably want to add a 4 terabyte drive to achieve the estimated 600 hours that's advertised.

Answer:	Yes each camera can be set individually. I recall using drop down menu to select a camera number or to apoly setting to all. Also I believe the recording schedule can be set individually. Also the motion detection and the grid overlay can also determine if a camera will record. There is a setting for always recording in addition to record on motion detection.

Answer:	One powers the dvr. The other two power 4 camera each. There are 2 four connector pig tale that each plug into a separate power unit. I think the max frame rate is 25 fps. Not certain about the specs on the lenses.

Answer:	You can put these cameras outdoor, in fact I have two of them installed outside my house and no problems about it but you may consider this lens cannot go deep in image, I mean you should only be able to see clearly up to 15 meters and no more so if you need to see clear to more distance or recognize license plates you should use another kind of cameras such 12mm lens with more infrared lens and light compensation.

Question:	I ordered a set. It shows that I have power on my camera but my video goes out right away. Is this a common problem
Answer:	I had a problem with no video at all. I tried another roll of wire and it worked, but video quality was poor. I took apart the first cable and found that on one end the wires make a connection. One of the wires was not soldered to the the other side of connection. I had bought these before but the color was white and they worked. I now have to look for another supplier. I would send these back and try a higher quality cable.

Answer:	they are powered from the unit with the same cable that feeds the camera. It is all one cable. You will need a hard drive and a video monitor or a tv with a HDMI cable to view the video you can pick up a 1 t hard drive and self install from Best buy for around $60.00 well worth the money it will record up to a year before having to be erased hope this helps I have two camera's installed outside so far and they work great!
