Answer:	And no there is no 12v plug or anything. Just has a positive and negative for wiring to your power supply of your choosing. And yes to needing to be wired up which is easier than you think.

Answer:	The CB has two wires built in so all you would need is a cigarette lighter socket adapter and wire it up. The wires are about 4' long so you should have no problems where you mount it. The wiring is very easy - that's the set up I have so I can unplug and remove the CB when I'm just driving around locally.
Question:	Do i need to buy and antenna for this? Or does it come with one
Answer:	It needs an antenna regardless? There is no internal one? Is it ok to leave the small antenna inside the vehicle? Like in the trunk or glove box?

Answer:	The 520XL can also be taken to any CB shop and be "peaked and tuned" to over double the factory power. This is a very common practice that any trucker will do with his/her CB. This radio, peaked and tuned will deliver 8.5-9.0 watts with 17-18 watt peaks. This is more than twice the factory (legal) power, and adds significant range and clarity to your radio. As far as I am aware, there are no other compact radios on the market with the ability to be peaked and having the RF gain control in a compact unit is AWESOME. This radio is a gem. Answer:	No you have to plug it in charge it all the way up or wire a 12 v power adapter from the battery in your truck and you can charge it there
Question:	Would this be a strong enough cb for listening to close (< 1 mile) truck drivers communicate while on the highway without an added antenna
Answer:	No, it will not likely work. The metal body of the vehicle shields you from the signal of others. I take mine while I am driving on the Interstate. The only thing I have ever picked up is when the truckers are right next to me while I am sitting in traffic and not moving. When I am outside the vehicle, I pick stuff up within a mile or two. Most of the truckers are all using single sideband radios, and you won't be able to pick them up with this radio at all.
Question:	what is the exact range this can be used if indoors like say im in a apartment my brother is like 2 miles away in a house will it go that far
Answer:	There is NEVER an exact range for radio communication. The FCC rules require that CB's put out no more than 4 watts. I have accidentally talked to a guy in New Zealand from Ventura, CA and also from there to Florida. Other times you can't talk across town with the same radio. In your situation, if the two of you are in rooms with windows that face each other you can probably talk with two of these radios and no outside antenna. But put a small magnet mount outside your window, on a pizza pan (steel) and run a wire from your pizza pan to your radio and connect it to the outside of the antenna connection and now you have an ok base station antenna and ground plain, and will be able to talk much further.

Answer:	I have used this. In an open field was able to get .4 miles. I have not been in the woods yet.

Question:	how do you make and take phone calls
Answer:	It works like any Bluetooth connection. You dial the number from your phone. I bought an external speaker for better sound and the unit comes with a microphone that you place somewhere in the vehicle. I rarely use the phone through it because my exhaust tone interferes with the call through the mic. Being that your phone connects, you can play pandora, iheart radio, or whatever music is stored on your phone. This means you can connect an amp and feed sound to your vehicle speakers.

Answer:	That means something is WRONG big time!!! Turn it off and have it checked out by a pro. Something is burning and u don't want a fire in ur truck or car.

Answer:	Listen. Tweaked! Peaked and tuned idk? You can have any radio tweaked, take your cb to a guy/cb shop(the guy making announcments over the radio...) He will snip out the thing that only allows it to do only 4 watts and add a thingymajob to bump it up to 20, 30, 40 watts. Or...hook up a linear. Or...do both. FYI- Half of your radio is your antenna, put the ugly sticks under your bunk and get a pair of wilsons or k-40s or anything else...

Answer:	The GPS receiver is installed but you need the plugin GPS antenna that must be purchased separate. (about $100.00)Any antenna can be used with the proper adapter. If you are using a outside antenna you just need to know what type of connector is on the end of the cable coming from the antenna and purchase the proper adapter. The stock antenna is SMA, but it comes with a SMA to BNC adapter. Adapters range in price from 5 - 10 dollars.

Question:	Can I use this radio for a home base
Answer:	Yes you can, but you'll need a 110v AC to 12v DC power converter and you'll also need a base station type antenna. I'm not sure why you would use this particular unit though because Midland makes a 40watt unit that would be much better suited to base station use.
Question:	Are the privacy codes compatible with Motorola talkabout radios
Answer:	Yes, however, I also have the T600 talkabouts and I was disappointed in the range between the MXT275 and the T600. I live in the city (Boston) in a neighborhood with lots of houses, so I knew that I had obstructions to deal with. But I thought I would have gotten better performance. The MXT to T600 only got about 50-75 feet further than the two handheld T600s got with each other. I am awaiting the upgraded 3db antenna to see if that helps any. Also, just a note, I did some research and the Talkabouts are limited to max power of 1.5 watts. Probably more realistically 1 watt consistently. I decided to pick up a set of the new Midland T295 handhelds.. as they are rated at nearly 3 watts.. probably 2.5 watts more realistically. But thats still a 150% power increase over the T600s so in theory.. I'm hoping the more powerful handheld.. paired with the MXT and the upgraded 3db antenna will have far better performance. Answer:	There are speakers in both the head unit and the base unit
Question:	Does this radio have an internal ID that will show up on another radio or be able to be identified if used with a repeater
Answer:	Don’t be fooled, most users don’t and shouldn’t be required to have a license to use this radio. The other answer that says you are required to have and use a call sign is false. You can get a GMRS license which might be a good thing to have. Now if your setting up a repeater I believe you do need to be licensed.

Answer:	I have one on my 1968 Corvette with the battery in a compartment behind the drivers seat. Just make it a little harder to get at.
Question:	What type of connector does the mic use? Is it an RJ
Answer:	This clamp is sized to fit the smaller diameter negative post (the positive one is too large) of a 12 volt battery. If your 6 volt battery's positive post is also larger than the negative, then you'll have to use this on the "live" negative one, which, for your application, shouldn't pose a problem. A little useful hint, I used an electrical zip tie to keep the swiveling side post of the switch close to the battery terminal, so it stays put when you unscrew the knob to break the circuit. Question:	What speaker work with this cb
Answer:	I threw the top screw type away when I realized how easy it was to lose it and be completely out of luck. Go with the lever type.....it takes good finger strength to open and close and I highly doubt would juggle back into place while towing.
