I have a 12 camera (16 channel) security system that uses BNC cables with 12v power cable like these. I bought 4 of these cables and 3 new cameras. The 4th cable is to replace a damaged cable already installed. I took 3 cables out of the package so far and only 1 works. The picture quality is so bad on the one that works I am going to replace it! There are lines and rainbows across the screen and the video flickers. Often times the video goes blank for several seconds before coming back on. When I reconnect this same camera with a cable I MADE MYSELF it works perfectly! SO, I opened up 2 more cables to test them and they don't work period! I didn't even bother to take the 4th cable out of the package. I'm sending all 4 of these back.
I don't know how AMAZON does their math on these reviews. I just glanced at the first 6 reviews and 4 of those 6 are ONE STAR!!! How do they have a 4.4 out of 5 star rating if they are getting four 1 star reviews out of every 6? Now it's going to be FIVE 1 star reviews out of 7.

I broke one and spliced them and seem to be work fine for now. Of course, that is why HISVISION is so cheap compared to NightOwl original cables. Don't do 100 ft +100 ft of HISVISION. The result is poor signals. |

| Answer: | I’m a amateur radio enthusiast (w/ EE degree) and use BNC and PL-259 connectors/ jumpers all the time. These are exactly like the BNCs I’ve used for 50 yrs... likely coming from same manufacturer. But specifically to your question whether they are 75 ohm... can’t really say. Ham radio/ CB marine radios pretty much use all use same connectors for 50 ohm and 75 ohm coax. The connector is such a small part of the total path... it doesn’t affect the transmitter/ reception SWR (a measurement to indicate any issues in the total antenna system). |

So, here are at least 2 cases of people receiving 75 OHM cables. Has anyone received cables labeled 50 OHM? If not, the supplier should change the description. Would be nice. |
