| Answer: | WiFi bulbs require your router be 2.4ghz and that your device be on that 2.4ghz network. Most routers today are meshed with 2.4ghz and 5ghz at the same time and your phone automatically selects the best one. Well, that's always the 5ghz band. So what you have to do is you have to configure your router where the 2.4ghz band is listed as one router, and the 5ghz band is listed as a separate router with a different name. You then put your iPhone on the 2.4ghz band and configure your wifi light bulbs. But what if you want to use these bulbs at work where you aren't allow to reconfigure the router? Then you need these Bluetooth bulbs. That's exactly what happened to me. The WiFi bulbs WILL NOT WORK at my office using my iPhone. I bought the Bluetooth bulb and it connected right away. |
