Question:	I just got this and i can not get this to connect to my jbl extreme.. i believe it is because the new connect button.. anybody else have this issue
Answer:	Here's the most likely solution (my comments copied from another website about the JBL Connect app). I finally figured out how to make the JBL Connect app work, so that it now plays in stereo mode through my two Flip 3 speakers (left channel comes out of one speaker and right channel comes out of the other speaker) with virtually no dropouts. The key is to connect ONLY ONE speaker when you make the initial Bluetooth pairing under your device's Settings (Apple iPad: Settings/Bluetooth in my case) otherwise Bluetooth continually tries to connect with the other speaker, causing interference and repeated dropouts. It may say that one of the speakers is "not connected" but just ignore that. The important thing is to NOT have both speakers connected under your device's Bluetooth settings. Only one speaker should appear as connected here, so do whatever it takes to disconnect second speaker from Bluetooth, or make it "disappear": turn the speaker's power off and then back on, turn the iPad's Bluetooth switch off and then on again, click on "Forget this device", etc. (and DO NOT RENAME either speaker—it causes problems with the Connect function.) Then, with only one speaker paired via Bluetooth (but both speakers turned on) press the Connect button on each speaker (the button with the bowtie-shaped icon) and wait for both speakers to connect to each other. The bluetooth-connected speaker takes over and sends out the signal to the other speaker via the Connect function. Once you have done this setup procedure you don't have to repeat it. You will only have to turn on your device's bluetooth, turn on both speakers and press both "Connect" buttons (in most cases you won't have to press the speaker's bluetooth button— one speaker should pair automatically to your iPad or other device via bluetooth, once you have done the initial pairing). If you experience any problems, simply turn the power off both speakers, and then back on again and press the Connect button on each speaker again. Doing it a second time always works if the first attempt is unsuccessful, (or if, sometime later after listening for a while, you hear any dropouts) but usually the first attempt works with no problem.

Answer:	The JBL Flip 3 and Flip 4 had a 3.5mm jack, the Flip 5 does not. It is 16w total, each speaker can handle about 8 watts. It weighs about 1 pound. The Flip 3 was the best of the Flip series, Loud with lots of Bass, Long Battery life, microphone and 3.5mm inpui jack. Flip 4 were not as loud and did not threw off as much bass as the Flip 3 and had less battery life. The Flip 5 has less power/volume, less bass and the worst battery life and no 3.5mm input jack and no microphone, so you cant answer calls with the Flip 5. JBL has gone down the tubes! If you are looking for good, bass booming sound, get a Harmon Kardon Onyx-1, those were the best! But avoid the Onyx-2 to Onyx-5 they are awful.

Question:	How does the radio work? How many stations does it have
Answer:	It took me a minute to figure out the operational features of the IPX7, but after about an hour I am highly satisfied with the sound and operation. Most importantly, the ability to pair them was idea, and it functions well with other Bluetooth devices. At first, I was concerned about the FM capabilities, but I am able to pick up multiple radio stations. To share what I found out about how to use the FM capabilities: ** It is best not to have the speaker actively Bluetooth'ed (if you will) to another device while setting up radio - see bottom switching modes note > Step 1. After turning on, you hear (four tones), then a three quick tones (this is Bluetooth mode) > Step 2. Gently, but quickly, press the ON (center) button twice (this puts the speaker in FM mode) - - You will hear a tone after the mode has switched - - Next, while in FM mode, you need to search for radio stations > Step 3. Gently, but quickly, press the ON (center) button three times (this puts the radio in auto search mode) - - You will know it is scanning because the blue indicator light on one side of the speaker will start to blink - - The radio will scan for all available stations - let the scan until the scan stops automatically (tells you that it has scanned for all available stations - blue blinking light will turn solid), or you can hit the ON button one time to stop - - Now to jump from station to station, use the + (up) or - (down) button by pressing and holding down either one of button(s) down (the radio will stop on the next available channel) - - Switching Modes. If you have your speaker connected to another device via Bluetooth, and you wish to switch between FM radio and the Bluetooth connected device, you can, gently, but quickly, press the ON (center) button twice. Side note: I found out that by using the edge of my thumb or finger, with my finger nail slightly against the buttons, the selections I want to make are much easier and I don't have to press so hard, like we all tend to do. Question:	What is the max distance for connecting this speaker to a bluetooth device
Answer:	If I am not mistaken, I believe it is approximately 100 ft. or 30 meters. Of course you have to consider walls, turns, etc.
Question:	can you take calls from this speakers and talk
Answer:	No, this speaker does not include a microphone. The JBL flip 4 did but the 5 no longer includes this feature.
Question:	Can I answer my phone with this speaker
Answer:	I'm with JVF here...one of the reason I chose this model, is it doesn't. My current speaker does, and it half pi_ses me off, every time a call comes in, cuts the music out (then I fumble to turn off the BT on my phone so I can answer the call, without everyone within 100ft ease dropping). Question:	Is it loud enough to be heard on a boat
Answer:	If you're parked at a sandbar and place it on the dash you can hear it well outside the boat, that's how we use ours and it saves our boat battery. If you're cruising at low speed you can still hear it but its not that enjoyable, and at faster speeds the engine and wind noise will drown it out, hope that helps.

Question:	have the UE boom and looking into the UE boom 2 or this, loudness how does this compare
Answer:	The correct comparison for Charge 3 is the Megaboom. Boom 2 is far inferior but if you compare Charge 3 against Megaboom, then Megaboom is a clear winner, well imo. Both have the same specs on paper. Megaboom's drivers are a bit bigger, it can be connected with NFC, has less charging time, has longer warranty period. Charge 3 has a microphone and thats it. If you don't have the budget for the Megaboom, then get the Charge.
Question:	Can you adjust the bass and or treble
Answer:	Yes hold down the bluetooth button and minus buttons together till power button changes. Bass boost mode, so yes, this device can improve bass with this setting. If device won’t power on, plug in to power, hold down connect button next to power button and plus buttons together. This will reset unit. Tk

Answer:	My girlfriend has the beats pill, and I have the JBL charge 3. The Charge 3 sound is much more balanced then the beats pill, and the Charge 3 is less expensive.

Answer:	Charge 3 has a bigger battery that lasts on average of 5 more hours than the flip 3. Charge 3 doesn't have any wired inputs such aux while the flip 3 does. Charge 3 claims to be waterproof, while the flip 3 is only splash proof. Flip 3 Is also retailing for $99.99 while the charge 3 is $149.99
