The wide, padded back pocket was designed to fit standard sized folders, but will also fit a smaller chromebook which is relatively slim. Answer:	If your hear it or not depends on where you can locate the sensor unit in proximity to your bedroom. It is not super loud so it probably wake you up if you can get the sensor close enough to your bedroom to still pick up his movement if he get up to leave his room. You might consider using a drive way alert instead...it is a little louder and you can put the sensor so it beams across his bedroom door and the main unit in your bedroom next to your bed since it is wireless.
