Answer:	I'm not sure how I ended up as a reviewer for this product other than I searched for an instructional manual. I had it, did not like it, and ordered an Olympus recorder. Most people who have ordered the Phillips product where I work have replaced it with the Olympus.

Answer:	It did not automatically eject for me. If you have an old cassette, insert it into your deck. If the old cassette ejects, then there's something wrong with your deck. If not, then there's something wrong with the Arsvita cassette adaptor so return it and ask for a replacement. Good luck.

Answer:	Yes, the Sony micro-cassettes will definitely work in this device. If you enhance the photo of the recorder, you can see the two heads the tape is placed on. Of note, the 60 minute micro-cassettes are much clearer than the 30 or the 90 minute. Hope this helps. Happy Holidays.

Question:	Several people commented on the WS 853 having low playback volume. Is the volume low only with speakers, or is it the same with earphones/earbuds
Answer:	I would say the small speaker playback volume does not get "loud". I recorded my voice and playback volume sounded the same. The default value is 30 (highest) and sounded comfortable in a quiet room by myself - though turned down to 20 and it still sounds fine. In a noisy area though, you will want to use headphones to carefully review the audio (or hold the speaker up to your ear instead of arms length away). Do not expect to the audio playback to "fill a room".UPDATE: I just noticed the "Diction" recording scene mode is definitely quieter! I was test recording in the various "Scenes" modes, and when I played the "Diction" one back on my computer it was CONSIDERABLY quieter. I would suggest sticking with the "Meeting" mode (the default) or "Off". For diction mode you probably need to speak very closely to the microphone or us an external microphone.NOTE: Set the "Record Level" to "High" as well

Answer:	Hi! I had the same thing. New area carpet with a rubbery back, sitting on wall to wall. We used pliers to hold the pins to poke it through the top rug. Then you lift up slightly on the floor carpet with one of the other pins, and shove the top carpet's pins in. It should be easy if you've already poked it through the rubbery carpet. The key is getting that floor carpet up just enough to insert easily. We've had them in for about 6 months now, and it works really well! Good luck!

Answer:	No, I have not experienced any damage. I have a heavy-weight berber carpet. They hold beautifully

Answer:	They are reusable. The metal pins are very strong. The plastic top did break off one of mine, but it was hit fairly hard and at an angle.
