Answer:	I'm assuming you have the owner's/operator's manual available. If you are following the instructions correctly for turning off the device, and it doesn't operate as specified in the manual, that would suggest a malfunctioning unit. I've seen some situations where a contact will stay "closed" which would be the equivalent of holding down the power button which might only RESTART the device (would APPEAR to shut off but then start back up). But first check the manual to be sure you're doing the shut-down correctly.

Answer:	No, u have to purchase the dragon software to do that
Question:	I am having trouble trying to turn it on after I turn it off. When I turn it off, I have to plug the charger in I do not know why
Answer:	I have had the exact same problem. When I plug in the recorder, though, the slider is very responsive. As of yesterday, the recorder will no longer turn on whether plugged in or not. So, my suggestion is that if you care about what you have recorded, download it NOW before you lose it forever. I think it must have something to do with the battery life. The fact that the battery is not replaceable is RIDICULOUS.
Question:	This will work with philips speechexec, right? we already have the software. this would be a replacement unit
Answer:	While a DVT will work, it is not the preferred device for Speech exec. If a DVT is used, you cannot program or automatic download using the software with a DVT.
