Power Source: Communications speakers are usually powered by the same power source as the ham radio equipment. They often connect directly to the radio or have their own power supply options, such as batteries or an external power adapter.
Noise Reduction: Some communications speakers come with noise reduction features, which help reduce background noise and interference, resulting in cleaner audio.
Additional Features: Depending on the model, communications speakers may offer additional features such as headphone jacks for private listening, adjustable mounting angles, and integrated filters to improve signal reception.
Brand and Model Varieties: Various manufacturers produce communications speakers tailored to different ham radio brands and models. Ham radio enthusiasts often choose speakers that are well-matched to their specific equipment.
Price Range: The price of communications speakers can vary widely depending on their features, build quality, and brand. Entry-level models are budget-friendly, while high-end speakers may offer advanced audio processing and control options.

User questions & answers
Question: | will this work on a Kenwood tm d710ga |
Answer: | If you are talking about the fiber optic cable, only the end of it holds position as directed by the plunger. The rest of the cable is very flexible. when I need it in a fixed position, I tape to a thin piece of aluminum that can be formed as needed. Don't have to do that very often as my hand is generally within a 6 -12 inches of the end of the cable. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is this larger than the roadpro rpsp |
Answer: | It helps tremendously with wind reduction. I have used it while riding my motorcycle, and the person on the other end hears only a little rumble coming from my engine. However...my voice comes through less than perfect. My voice sounds as though I might be either a bit drunk or badly congested. Even with this drawback, communication is possible where it wasn't before getting this headset. |
Question: | Can you hook it up to a phone |
Answer: | No I don’t |
Question: | Does this come with the wires to hook it up to Uniden 880 bearcat radio |
Answer: | I don’t use the PTT button by wrapping it on my belt-easy to reach and I don’t concern myself with finger issues |
Question: | Does the bc20 need an external power or does it plug into an ac port |
Answer: | I don’t see why not. You’d have to buy the right connections for it, though. It has 2 bands on the mic and 1 band for the earpiece. Not sure how the PTT would work on a pc, though. |
