Answer:	if you dont know the answer- why bother answering it? The person asking didn't know---so he doesn't need 4 answers of "I dont know". If the unit is working properly, its most likely FINE. Many transformers (which is inside of this) hum. The wires are wrapped around a steel core and it creates a strong magnetic field. It can cause some of the wires to resonate. Its harmless- and its no different than many old electronic items that would hum (like old tv's etc)----most no longer use big transformers- they use switching power supplies which is a different technology. So, as long as its working---putting out 12V, and holding a charge, its fine. If its not working, then that is a different issue. I hope this helps---at least its an explanation, something you didn't get with the other answers.

Answer:	The owner's manual calls for a 105 amp hr battery. It is likely that you can power it for a little while. However, if you were going to use it a decent amount on a fishing trip, you would likely run it below a 40-50% charge level where damage to the cells start. Repeatedly doing this will reduce the charge capacity of the battery over time.

Answer:	35 AH battery means that it can put out 1 amp for 35 hours. Power=current X voltage so the 12 v battery produces 12W for 35 hours. Resistance is measured in ohms, and current=voltage/resistance of load. So that battery connected across a 12ohm resistor puts out 1A= 12V/12ohms. If you give it less resistance it will yield greater current so that you can get higher powers, but only for a lesser time. And unfortunately the ralationship in time is a losing proposition. You don't get as many amp hours at a higher current. At 10 Amps you might be lucky to get 2.5 hours. I used my batteries in a gokart where I had 2 12V batteries in parallel, made 2 more sets like this, put the.m in series, which yielded 36v at 20 amps for about 2.5 hours, long enough to bore the grandkids, and fully recharge the batteries after they went down to 12V (from their fully charged 12.8 to 13V)
Question:	Would 4 of these batteries do well hook in series 48volts if they were powering a 1000watt brushless hub motar for an ebike ?? So confused please help
Answer:	I did the research before realizing your question is over two years old and you're probably long gone but at any rate. Hooking 4 of these batteries in series will produce 48 volts as you'd expect, to supply the 1000w you're requesting these batteries will have to deliver 20.85amp, at this delivery speed they will deplete to 9.6volts in 60 minutes which effectively makes them 20ah vs the rated 35ah at 3.5amp. So I'd say they are not a good fit for the task because using them in this manner will give you about 225 charge cycles vs 1250 cycles if they were under a more reasonable task such as 3 or 4 amp load.

Answer:	The clamps are metal on the inside (obviously), and a durable plastic on the outside as insulating covers. Looks to be pretty durable, I've had no problems with them. But then, I tend to take care of my toys! :-) This unit, by the way, was an excellent investment...after having owned several less-capable chargers. This one restored my Yellow Top battery back to its full capacity in short order! I own a Tahoe Hybrid and had installed the Yellow Top as a result of standard batteries not holding a full charge after a year or two, and often draining when not running the Tahoe at least once every 4-5 days or so. Can connect full-time to the battery the accompanying cable, making the use of clamps unnecessary! Just have to remember to unplug it!

Answer:	As far as I can tell it does it automatically. I’ve had it hooked up to IV batteries it seems to charge some and keep maintaining the other ones

Answer:	We're sorry to hear you're having trouble. Try each extension individually to make sure they both work. If so, the extended D/C cable length with both extensions in place may be impairing the charger's ability to correctly sense the battery.

Question:	Are the battery terminal clips/clamps plastic
Answer:	Yes. This smart battery charger supports charging all types of 12V lead-acid battery, including AGM, GEL and STD. After searching the optima yellow top battery on market, most of optima yellow top batteries are AGM, which can be charged by this smart battery charger.
Question:	Does it work with Optima battery only or work with all brands
Answer:	There is a difference between a dead battery and a drained battery. A completely dead battery is not safe to charge. I believe this device needs a battery with at least 6 volts to recognize it as a battery and begin to charge it.
Question:	Are the clamps made of plastic or are they built of some other material that will actually last
Answer:	On my 2013 Jetta I had to turn the cables sideways on the post to get a better connection. If this does not work, it is because the battery is bad.
