Answer:	The SSCS5 has respectable bass response for a bookshelf, down to 50 Hz or so, but I would highly recommend you pair with a decent subwoofer for best results. I use the SSCS5 in a 2.1 setup in our master bedroom and they absolutely slay for movies and music! The imaging and soundstage is spectacular. Really no need for a full surround setup if space is limited or you don’t want to monkey around with wiring rear speakers. However, pairing these with a good subwoofer makes a world of difference in the impact you will experience for movies. If you listen to a lot of electronic music, a good sub is a must.

Answer:	I would never try it. I don't think any electronic devices should be presser washed especially a speaker, far too sensitive.

Answer:	The sensitivity on these speakers are only 85.5 dB and are 100 watts. You definitely need an amp with some power to push 4 of them. If you use these as stereo speakers I recommend a Sherwood RX5502 or look for an older Pioneer VSX series made in the 90's or any Pioneer SX series amps on EBay. SX may cost more but VSX is great stuff. Not the new VSX crap. Get the old stuff cause they have bigger transformers and power supplies and they are true solid state amps. No digital gizmos to screw up the sound. The VSX is a surround sound amp BUT they have stereo connections for 4 separate speakers and you can A/B them. The EQ on those amps are pretty good as well.

Answer:	Is your 3.5 mm connector stereo?, even if it is I'm guessing there are inexpensive adapters (probably @ Radio Shack) that will convert a 3.5 mm plug to either 2 wire (mono) or 4 wire (stereo). Pay attention to wire polarities (+ & -) as traditional 2 wire speakers connections are + & - , even if the wires are connected backwards the speakers will still work-- result you will be driving them backwards & they will not sound as clear. Solution, just reverse the wires. Good luck

However, the door does not have to open flush against the wall for the ironing board to be used. Answer:	Hi Carl. Thanks for your inquiry. The power handling capacity of this speaker (max.) is 145 W with a rated impedance of 6 ohms. If your receiver can handle the power input then it should work, However, you will also need to consider the ohm rating. When matching speakers and Audio/Video (A/V) receivers, the ohm rating of the speaker should be equal to or greater than the ohm rating of the receiver to avoid a risk of hardware damage. Answer:	If you're looking for the best overall match the Sony Core SACS9 10" Powered Sub does quite well if you have a large room and RCA splitter or a receiver that supports dual subwoofers get 2 or buy a 12 or 15" subwoofer from Klipsch or SVS. It also depends on if you're using these more for Home Theater or Music. If you're going for Music I'd suggest 1-2 small subwoofers for a better response time if you're going for home theater only a larger subwoofer will give you more rumble for immersion. If you have a more mixed-use situation I think dual 10" Subwoofers are the sweet spot, and the Sony Core SACS9 Subwoofer is made to compliment the frequency response of the core series speakers and matches the aesthetic as well.
