Question:	what do I need to connect these speakers to? Will a receiver work, and can I plug my computer into the receiver
Answer:	A receiver with at least 50 watts per chanel will do fine, then plug your computer to the aux imput of the receiver. Make sure you use 12 Gauge wire to conect the speakers and get the best out of them. It´s Important to leave enough room from the speakers to the rear and side wall, to make the bass port and the rear tweeter reflect their sound towards the listener. If you are going to use them in a book shelf better get the 201 and a subwoofer like a polkaudio.
Question:	What is the range of frequency response
Answer:	You raise a good question since Bose does not publish frequency response charts (probably because the results are not as smooth or wide ranging as they would like). I expected some independent tests to be published but could not locate one for the 301s. I did find a French test on the Companion 2s, which are about the cheapest and smallest stereo speakers that Bose makes. That range was 40-20,000 +-6db. I would expect the 301s to be about the same range w/ slightly lower base +- about 3db but have no way to confirm or verify any numbers. As you probably know, the DB variance is a key factor in determining valid frequency response and any number without that variance can be misleading.

Answer:	Watts doesn't really tell you how loud it is and is almost a worthless spec without the other specs to go along with it. What you want is SPL which is what you really hear/feel and the Bose states the S1 Maximum SPL @ 1m is 103 dB (109 dB Peak). In comparison, a decent mobile DJ PA is around 132 SPL, at least mine are :) Still though that doesn't cover quality of sound but since it's Bose you already know that the quality is decent.

Answer:	I use iTunes and these speakers give plenty of sound for my small office space. I can feel the vibration in my chest by using the iTunes equalizer and setting the bass higher. Answer:	I use the speakers on a desktop computer, and have an Echo Dot hard wired to the AUX input on one of the speakers. I can play Prime Music over the speakers, and any sounds from the computer add on top of that such that both are heard at the same time. Of course you can say "Alexa pause" and only the computer sounds are on the speakers. By the way I think this is FANTASTIC!!!!

Answer:	The cord is about 6', no remote control. Unfortunately the real issue is how ridiculously short the connection your audio source is that comes with it. I had to order a separate 8' cable 3.5mm stereo cable.

Question:	How does this compare to sono sound bar
Answer:	It does not compare to a high end Sonos system at all. This speaker provides great audio enhancement for a 40" Vizio I have in a corner in my living room. It is compact and fits nicely in front of the TV and it has an dialog enhancer setting for those of us who struggle a bit with hearing dialog. It does not compare with the higher end Bose units with surround speakers or the Sonos high end systems which are widely considered the best, but those are for bigger rooms than I have my Bose Small Soundbar in. I am renovating a rec room on in my lower level and I intend to use a Sonos with surround speakers down there with a 55" screen where there is more room. The small Bose is a wonderful item, but not designed for large screen, large room surround systems.

Answer:	RCA to HDMI converters do not work, personally tried. The only thing that helped was an Optical-to-Coaxial or Coax-to-Optical Digital Audio Converter Adapter,Premium Bi-Directional Digital Coaxial to/from SPDIF Optical Audio Signal Converter/Repeater. I purchased one on Amazon sold by ROOFULL Inc. My tv is older, does not have an optical or HDMI ARC port. I attempted the RCA to HDMI converter and it did not work.
