I do this to watch football (association and gridiron) while on the treadmill and listening to radio or music. I recommend Acoustic Audio AA321B speakers for Z2, available on Amazon for about $32 for a pair.

Answer:	No, it does not support a Zone 2 Subwoofer. And yes, Zone 2 pretty much works independently, for instance, you can listen to the radio in one part of the house using Zone 1, and listen to a CD in another part of the house using Zone 2..... It is a bit tricky to figure out, but download and print the owners manual for best results.... hope this helps, this is a GREAT AMP!

Answer:	There is a single pre-out for connection to a powered subwoofer. You could use an RCA cable splitter if you really need two powered subs. However please note that due to the large wavelength (low frequency) of the sound waves in question the human ear is not sensitive to their directionality. That's just a matter of physics. Toward the other end of the frequency spectrum, sound waves are very dense and the human ear is hypersensitive to directionality; hence the popularity of 'point source' concentric drivers etc.

Answer:	Mark, it is 8.5" Wide, 10.25" Deep, and 4" Tall - It is quite compact. I use it without the speakers also - I instead use it to drive some outdoor Bose speakers I have on my patio. If you plan to use it with Bluetooth, it works great! And it re-connects back to my iPhone, when I simply turn it on. I don't have to go to bluetooth settings on my phone which is great.

Answer:	As long as the seller is an authorized dealer(we most certainly are) you are covered by the Onkyo manufacturer's warranty. If you have a warranty claim you use the seller's name as who you bought the product from, not Amazon.
Question:	On another site a customer said that the zone 2 speakers could be used to make this a 9.2 system. Wrong info
Answer:	No. Never possible because it only has 7 amplifiers, meaning it can only power 7 speakers at one time.Why bother with Zone 2 outlets at all? I don't always need all 7 channels for watching TV, but I still want to listen to music in the kitchen (while preparing snacks for TV!). I can pre-wire the sound for the kitchen and drop the TV down to 5.1 while rockin' in the kitchen, then lose myself in Atmos or DTS:X sound. While the kitchen solution does not lend itself to a separate amp, Zone 2 can be configured with a "line out" to a vintage receiver (or cheap amp) without sacrificing any speakers in the main zone.The system is simply not designed to support 9 channels. You'll have to shell out a LOT more money for that capability.
Question:	was all set to buy TX-NR636, now 646 comes out! can anyone explain the sig differences? anything make the 646 superior
Answer:	The NR646 will be able to play DTS:X besides Dolby Atmos via firmware update avaiable "soon" (they'll coexist, just as your current-gen amp switches between True HD and HDMA decoding depending on the content). No such update is planned for the NR636. What this means is, the TX-NR636 will give you full Dolby Atmos multidimensional sound from Atmos-enabled discs (as well as True HD / lossy Dolby tracks) , but will produce only DTS-HDMA 7.1 tracks (and its DTS lossy variants) from DTS:X discs. My advise: if you care for multidimensional sound, get the TX-NR 646 to future-proof yourself. Movies won't ALWAYS use Atmos, they may use DTS:X, too. And X may even become the dominant multidimensional audio format for the next few years (just as DTS-HDMA became the dominant lossless audio format last few years). BUT if you don't care at all for multidimensional audio / ceiling & reflective speakers and stuff, there are some other great amps on this same price range that don't feature Atmos / X but compensate on power / other features to give you a better bang for your buck.

Answer:	OK, I'll echo what others have said... No they do not have to be the same brand. I also agree with GBWendell's answer on January 12, 2013 and I will add one thing. What sounds great in one person's listening area ( TV room, Den etc.) may not sound the same in another area because of the difference in acoustics in that area. A pair of speakers may sound great in the store, and when you get them home, they may sound terrible. My advice to you is: Take one or more of your CD's along with you to a place where you can listen to a set of speakers you are interested in. Have them play the CD and listen. Compare sets of speakers. When you make your decision as to what speakers to buy, make sure you can return them! Take them home and hook them up and listen to them there. If they sound good to you there great, if not at least you can return them for a different pair. If you cannot go to a store to listen to a pair of speakers, then you will have to rely solely on brand name and model that fits your budget. Good Luck.

Answer:	I have not heard a 3500, and I own a 4500. According to this reference (https://www.avsforum.com/forum/90-receivers-amps-processors/2973392-official-2018-denon-s-series-x-series-avr-owner-s-thread-faq-posts-1-8-a.html) what the 4500 adds over 3500 is below. Looks like the 3500 does not have AL32 processing, which is significant imo. Answer:	Will not pass through 4k @ 120Hz or 8k @ 60Hz do to a bottleneck of the Panasonic chip used. This impacts the all the 2020 Denon AVRs and most mfg claiming HDMI 2.1 compatible. The work around us to connect your pc or console directly to your HDMI 2.1 TV and use the TVs eARC back to the AVR. Even then not all TVs pass lossless via eARC equally.

Answer:	You’ll have to make sure the input sound signal is surround (Like a 5.1) and not just a stereo signal (two channel). Try testing it out with a DVD or Blu-Ray, or even a streaming service that has the 5.1 like Netflix. You’ve already verified that they are all working with the test setup so the input signal is my best guess.
