User questions & answers
Question: | Is this price for one speaker or the pair |
Answer: | It appears that the price is for one but when mine arrived the box had two in the box. Had to return the extra pair. |
Question: | Do you need a receiver to use these? or can i just hook up to my tv |
Answer: | I have seen TVs that have speaker outputs, but it's pretty rare. If your TV has those, they'd be labeled "External Speakers" or something like that. Otherwise you need a receiver or at least an amplifier. |
Question: | Should I set this speaker to "Small" or to "Large" in my receiver? My Yamaha RX-V581 automatic calibration sets this to Large |
Answer: | So this depends on your receiver. I realize this is an old question, but could be helpful for others. Many receivers have the speaker size selection and many newer (last several years) receivers may also allow you to tweak your crossover settings for each set of speakers. Basically, what that means is that if your sub crossover is set at 150 hz, you want your other speakers to pick up the frequency where the sub left off. So you would want your other speakers to "crossover" at 150 hz. This means that those speakers will play frequencies from 150 hz and higher. If you set your sub for 80 hz and your other speakers at 150 hz, you'll miss all of the sounds between 80 and 150. All that to say, if you set your speakers to small, you'll want to look in your receiver manual to see what the low frequency cut-off is so you know what to set your sub crossover at. This way, you won't lose part of your sound. |
Question: | Speaker impedance and frequency response |
Answer: | 8 Ohms each, 60 - 24,000 Hz response but without a decibel variation or a response curve that is meaningless. They do say the -3db useful low end is 65 Hz. Over all it is a good value for use in a small room like a small bedroom or computer office say about 10' x 10'. I play mine with "loudness" on and have the bass turned up a bit to give a nice balanced sound on most material. These would obviously benefit from being paired with a subwoofer, but they are still adequate even without for normal listening. You'd have to spend at least double the money to get much better speakers. Note that oftentimes through the year, Amazon and Best Buy will have these on sale for about $49 for the pair, which is when I bought mine, so obviously THAT makes them an even better deal. I've compared a lot of small bookshelf speakers and to my ears, you'd have to get some Boston Acoustics at $250 for the pair to offer anything much better than these, but you may wish to compare them to others by Klipsch and JBL. But really, when I got them for $49 I was VERY happy with them and how they have grown on me after I broke them in for a few hours. Do be aware that playing them overly loud can result in some "noise" or "rattle" from pushing the little 5.25" woofer too hard. You just need to use some common sense and have realistic expectations for such small speakers in terms of volume. |

User questions & answers
Question: | What is the model of the small rear speakers? I'd like to order 2 additional ones |
Answer: | I tried it with an off brand and it would not work. Pay attention to which side the batteries come out of the grip. I had to buy the Canon grip. |
Question: | what setting to fix, all movies from any source dialog too quiet effects or music too loud? only VLC player Compressor can fix |
Answer: | I use ot on 5D-IV dimensions are the same so or should fit fine |
Question: | Receiver that comes with ht-s7800 is similar to which receiver model in tx/nr series |
Answer: | It should. I had a really offbrand battery grip for my 5DIV and in order to attach it I had to drill a different hole for the screw to go through. But remember this was an off brand battery grip. As compared to my other L brackets I have from RRS it doesn’t feel as stiff. Will it do the job? Yes it will, but then it doesn’t cost like a RRS bracket either. |
Question: | So as long as I have a Dolby atmos movie this will be atmos sound completely? No extra add one to buy |
Answer: | I don't know, i don't shoot with a canon. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Are remote control (IR) extenders compatible with this device? Thank you |
Answer: | This receiver should work with a standard IR remote control repeater kit. |
Question: | what does THD mean |
Answer: | Total harmonic distortion The total harmonic distortion (THD) is a measurement of the harmonic distortion present in a signal and is defined as the ratio of the sum of the powers of all harmonic components to the power of the fundamental frequency. Distortion factor, a closely related term, is sometimes used as a synonym. In audio systems, lower distortion means the components in a loudspeaker, amplifier or microphone or other equipment produce a more accurate reproduction of an audio recording. |

The TX-SR373 decodes Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio, the most popular lossless multichannel soundtrack formats common to Blu-ray Disc. Experience authentic movie sound as the director intended.
HDMI Connects You to the Future
Connect your players with just one cable linking to the TV for clean AV unit installation. HDMI terminals pass the latest video formats to your display, including those supporting 4K/60 Hz, HDR, BT.2020, and HDCP 2.2. There’s also an Audio Return Channel (ARC) for amplifying TV broadcasts.
Bluetooth Wireless Technology Featuring Qualcomm aptX aud
Bluetooth wireless technology mirrors whatever’s playing on your mobile device, laptop, or PC on the home theater. Devices* supporting Qualcomm aptX codec deliver virtually lossless low-latency playback, while original Advanced Music Optimizer mode enriches any compressed audio for a more satisfying musical experience.

Room Calibration Made Easy
AccuEQ measures and corrects speaker distances, output levels, crossover frequencies, and frequency response from one quick and easy listening position to ensure clear and balanced surround-sound.
Add Thrills to Music, Movies, Gaming, and TV Programs
Discrete analog amps (not an all-in-one integrated circuit) deliver high instantaneous current to the speakers for dynamic audio reproduction. Controlled power is the cornerstone of Onkyo’s amplification philosophy.
This gives the TX-SR373 155 W/Ch (6 Ohms, 1 kHz, 10% THD, 1 Channel Driven) 80 W/Ch (8 Ohms, 20 Hz–20 kHz, 0.08% THD, 2 Channels Driven, FTC).
Enjoy Music via USB Input
Connect a compatible USB memory device filled with MP3, WMA, or AAC audio files to enjoy clear and powerful reproduction of your music. Quality D/A conversion and a selection of DSP listening programs further enhance sound to suit different kinds of music.
Easy Connection Guide Simplifies Setup
Connections to speakers and external devices are clearly labeled and illustrated on the rear panel—the connection diagram is readable upside down to make things easy when you’re leaning over the top of the receiver.

User questions & answers
Question: | I already have a nice subwoofer. Is there any way (even via wireless adapter of some type) that I can use it with the Sonos Playbar |
Answer: | Paul, not directly, there are a couple options.. if the subwoofer is powered then you need to buy a Sonos connect and plug the subwoofer into that and then pair that in your settings to your playbar the other option if your subwoofer is not powered you would have to purchase a sonos connect amp and do the same thing, I have done both of these options in my home and they work very well. The sonos connect is half the price Of the sonos sub, you could look at it that way :-) |
Question: | Watching movies.. do you have the problem of having to constantly adjust the volume to turn down action and turn up dialog |
Answer: | 30 years I’ve never had a product which both sounds amazing and deals with this problem, and it is a big problem with a lot of content. Everyone has their own special setting but the only ones that truly work also degrade the great sound. I don’t think electronics can solve this as well as having a sound-dampening room, because that’s what they are mastered for (curtained theatre) and most of us have reflective drywall. |
Question: | Is there a way to connect all my inputs to a Denon 1612, connect that to the TV, and have the soundbar play sound from all sources |
Answer: | Yes and no. The PlayBar has only one input: fiberoptic. The Denon AVR-1612 does not include a fiberoptic output, so you cannot directly connect the receiver to the PlayBar. But your TV should have a fiberoptic output, so if you connect all the devices to the Denon via HDMI cables, then connect an HDMI cable from receiver to TV, then fiberoptic cable from TV to PlayBar, you should get sound from all sources connected to the receiver. If you do it this way, make sure that HDMI Audio Output is set to ON in the receiver set-up menu. However, connected this way, you will *NOT* get sound from the Receiver's built-in AM/FM tuner, nor will you get sound from any older devices that are connected to the receiver using analog audio/video cables (typically red/white/yellow RCA cables). There really is no advantage to using the Denon receiver in this set-up, unless your TV only has one or two HDMI inputs and you're trying to add more. But you could do that more simply (and inexpensively) with a simple HDMI switch. For simplicity, I'd recommend connecting all devices to the TV with HDMI cables, and connect the fiberoptic output of the TV to the PlayBar. This way the TV handles all source switching and whatever source is selected on the TV will play through the PlayBar. Hope that helps. |
Question: | Does anyone know how good the playbar sounds without the subwoofer |
Answer: | It sounds pretty good without the subwoofer. We have a small room and have the playbar....two Play 3's and one play 5 and it sounds great. For our small house the subwoofer would be too much and that's saying something as my husband really likes to have some bass going. If you had a huge area to cover you might want the subwoofer. We used to have a bose system with a subwoofer and this sounds as good at that if not better. If you are really into your sound you probably will want something in addition to the playbar like the play 3's and/or play 5's. We went that route because we could move them into other rooms of the house easily. FYI - the playbar is not a petite piece so make sure you have room for it. I hope this helps! |

User questions & answers
Question: | Hi, does it have a remote control |
Answer: | Yes, it has a zone 2 setup for speakers plus you can do Bluetooth speakers if desired |
Question: | Why would this unit have trouble with rgb 4K from ps4 pro to vizio m558? Also sound cuts out every hour or so for 3 seconds, is this the receiver |
Answer: | Yes it can pass 1440p @ 30, 60, 120hz from PC to TV |
Question: | Does the bluetooth trasmit both audio and video |
Answer: | To do it in the same room: Plug a couple of speakers into the Zone 2 outputs, then on the remote turn on Z2 and select tuner (scene 2) or other audio input you want; use the remote to set Z2 volume. Meanwhile Main input remains on STB or whatever you use, with main output volume muted and closed caption as you wish. I do this to watch football (association and gridiron) while on the treadmill and listening to radio or music. I recommend Acoustic Audio AA321B speakers for Z2, available on Amazon for about $32 for a pair. |
Question: | is zone B a variable out controlled by the remote? Can you send optical in to zone b |
Answer: | V685Bl is black.. I believe that is the BL. I have not seen just v685 |
