Answer:	You probably meant watts not volts. And yes you should assume some watts are taken by the device it self and/or manufacture issue. Get 20-30% more .

Question:	Does this thing have an/off switch or do you need to plug/unplug everytime you use it
Answer:	no switch. You can plug/unplug, I leave it plugged in all the time.
Question:	Unit works fine for awhile and then starts outputting static, even with no input connected. I've tried it with several amps with the same results
Answer:	Most likely people who are having noise problems it is because of ground loop isolation problem. If you have a ground loop isolation problem grounding the preamp box is unlikely to help. Without getting technical, what you want to buy is a ground loop isolator or a humm eliminator; both the ground loop isolator and humm eliminator tackles the cause of the noise at the fundamental source of the problem, depending on your audio setup, one maybe easier to use than the other. To use the ground loop isolator or the humm eliminator they generally come with instructions, or you can google this topic. If the noise in your audio system isn't fixed by using this solution the first time, try putting the ground loop isolator and humm eliminator at various points in your audio system. Also you can talk to audio people and get advice about how to fix ground loop problems from people who setup big audio systems, for concerts and such; if you talk to the average electronic garage shop audio enthusiast you are likely to get bad advice, i.e., meaningless explanations. Also caution must be used when Googling this topic, much of the discussion, advice and explanation on this topic is bogus, you can get a general correct feel of this topic if you read a number of explanations. Also one more thing that can cause a "popping noise" is that you have too much gain, this is a phono amp and the gain is huge, it takes a 3mV and makes it 2Vp-p this is a gain of around 100 to 200, if you gain up the audio signal too much then the signal out of your amplifier runs out of head room and clips, this can cause a popping sound, essentially you have too much gain. If this is occurring you need to either buy a preamp with less gain or attenuate the signal before it gets to the preamp. If this is a problem, too much gain, you can buy preamps with gain control.
Question:	My turntable has very quiet output. Will this device help boost the volume
Answer:	Yes, indeed. If your need was like mine (no built-in pre-amp on the turntable and no specifically dedicated phono input on your amplifier) you will find this unit to be the perfect solution to needed amplification of the turntable's output. Don't forget to hook up the ground wire as directed or you may wind up putting unwanted noise into the audio.
Question:	My amp DOES have a Phono Input, but my cartridges are low output. Can I use this to boost the signal using the Phono Input to reduce audible hiss
Answer:	No, you can't. This is a phono preamp with RIAA playback equalization that amplifies the signal about 100 times, so it essentially does what your built-in phono preamp does. The output signal from the separate preamp is equalized to a nominally "flat" frequency response and the amplified signal level will overload and probably damage your built-in phono preamp. Plug it into any other stereo line input on your system (AUX, CD, DVD, TAPE, VCR, etc.), but NOT the PHONO input! If you need higher signal gain, maybe look at phono preamps from ART or TCC that have output level controls. If you use moving-coil (MC) cartridges, you need a preamp specifically designed for them...they require at least 55 dB (over 500 times) signal gain vs. about 40 dB (100 times) for moving-magnet (MM) cartridges. Noise becomes a critical issue with MC cartridges because of their extremely low signal output, so good-quality cables and good turntable grounding are essential.

Answer:	Not sure how you have your cables attached but you Should have the left and right audio out Jacks from The tv going to the 3.5MM Aux in Jack on the amp. Of course this requires a cable with 2 rca plugs on one end and a 3.5MM plug on the other. This should work. Depending on the tv you can go into the settings to turn off speaker.

Answer:	Yes you can use one big one. You can wire this in between the amps and the car battery. It will pull the power from this before getting to the battery. It doesn’t matter how many amps are hooked up. It depends on how much power you’re pulling. Answer:	I only have the Sony SB 10 but I want to buy the Sony SB 12 What’s putting me off is people have told me that if you want to listen to both of speakers at the same time for stereo sound you have to go through the process to pair Them up again each time with the phone. Answer:	Most amplifiers with a 1 volt signal coming in the input will max out around 50 % on the volume control. After the amp is maxed, the sound will be distorted. Known as clipping. The extra control on your volume is fir a weaker signal in the input.

Question:	What do I need to hook this up to an Amp and any suggestions on an amp? Will be used in a conference room
Answer:	Every audio component hooks to additional Amp. It works best if the conference room has built-in speakers; otherwise, I suggest "Fender Passport 150 PRO Portable PA System with Mixer and Speakers ".
Question:	Can the microphones be used to connect to an ipad, which will then be used via a usb mixer, for a google hangouts call
Answer:	The microphone receiver has an XLR and a 1/4 inch jack for audio out. As long as your mixer has one of these connectors or you have the appropriate adapter. I connect the mics to my mixer via XLR. At the same time I connect the 1/4 inch jack to an input on a public address system. The mixer connects to a BlackMagic Intensity Shuttle via RCA connectors adapted from an 1/4 inch jack. The shuttle connects to my computer via Thunder Bolt or USB depending on which type I'm using (PC or MAC).
Question:	Can I connect this unit to PC microphone jack
Answer:	Yes. We did that a few weeks ago. You do need the 1/4" to 1/8" adapter of course. But our unit had a lot of hum/hiss in it, rendering it unusable.I'm thinking that cabled versions (shielded cables) might be an option (saw them in Russia recently, ironically).But I decided this is awkward unless you have one mike per person, so I'm looking at sensitive microphones. Some seem to be able to cover large areas. For which a USB interface seems to be suggested, not plug in. Sound cards in PCs seem to not be adequate for good results, I've read - and experienced.
Question:	If I order 2 units will they be the same channels
Answer:	We did this. It works just fine as long as you don’t turn on 2 mics on the same channel at the same time. So you have to get religious about switching mics off when not speaking. I.e. when a mic is off, it doesn’t just get muted, it stops transmitting. So then if you turn on both (e.g.) channel 3 mics, there are 2 transmitters on nearly the same frequency and it tends to squeak and squawk a bit. That’s why they don’t allow 2 radio stations on the same frequency in a local geographic region. They squeak and squawk bashing against each other at your radio. Oh, BTW this means that you only use 1 of the 2 receiver boxes you bought with each of its 8 channels servicing 2 microphones. So you have a spare receiver box.

Answer:	Neither of the other two answers are correct! Here’s the deal. This device has an analog knob with aux 1, aux 2, aux 3, and another multi-function input that includes the radio, bluetooth, and the media card stuff. The volume only works on some of the inputs. Bluetooth, radio, and the media card are routed through the digital, remote controllable volume control. The switch between Aux 1, aux 2, aux 3, and the multi-function input is routed through the master analog volume control, which is controlled by an analog knob that is not remote controllable. I had hoped that this device would offer remote control of the analog RCA inputs, but it does not.
