Answer:	no switch. You can plug/unplug, I leave it plugged in all the time.

Answer:	Most likely people who are having noise problems it is because of ground loop isolation problem. If you have a ground loop isolation problem grounding the preamp box is unlikely to help. Without getting technical, what you want to buy is a ground loop isolator or a humm eliminator; both the ground loop isolator and humm eliminator tackles the cause of the noise at the fundamental source of the problem, depending on your audio setup, one maybe easier to use than the other. To use the ground loop isolator or the humm eliminator they generally come with instructions, or you can google this topic. If the noise in your audio system isn't fixed by using this solution the first time, try putting the ground loop isolator and humm eliminator at various points in your audio system. Also you can talk to audio people and get advice about how to fix ground loop problems from people who setup big audio systems, for concerts and such; if you talk to the average electronic garage shop audio enthusiast you are likely to get bad advice, i.e., meaningless explanations. Also caution must be used when Googling this topic, much of the discussion, advice and explanation on this topic is bogus, you can get a general correct feel of this topic if you read a number of explanations. Also one more thing that can cause a "popping noise" is that you have too much gain, this is a phono amp and the gain is huge, it takes a 3mV and makes it 2Vp-p this is a gain of around 100 to 200, if you gain up the audio signal too much then the signal out of your amplifier runs out of head room and clips, this can cause a popping sound, essentially you have too much gain. If this is occurring you need to either buy a preamp with less gain or attenuate the signal before it gets to the preamp. If this is a problem, too much gain, you can buy preamps with gain control.
Question:	My turntable has very quiet output. Will this device help boost the volume
Answer:	Yes, indeed. If your need was like mine (no built-in pre-amp on the turntable and no specifically dedicated phono input on your amplifier) you will find this unit to be the perfect solution to needed amplification of the turntable's output. Don't forget to hook up the ground wire as directed or you may wind up putting unwanted noise into the audio.
Question:	My amp DOES have a Phono Input, but my cartridges are low output. Can I use this to boost the signal using the Phono Input to reduce audible hiss
Answer:	No, you can't. This is a phono preamp with RIAA playback equalization that amplifies the signal about 100 times, so it essentially does what your built-in phono preamp does. The output signal from the separate preamp is equalized to a nominally "flat" frequency response and the amplified signal level will overload and probably damage your built-in phono preamp. Plug it into any other stereo line input on your system (AUX, CD, DVD, TAPE, VCR, etc.), but NOT the PHONO input! If you need higher signal gain, maybe look at phono preamps from ART or TCC that have output level controls. If you use moving-coil (MC) cartridges, you need a preamp specifically designed for them...they require at least 55 dB (over 500 times) signal gain vs. about 40 dB (100 times) for moving-magnet (MM) cartridges. Noise becomes a critical issue with MC cartridges because of their extremely low signal output, so good-quality cables and good turntable grounding are essential.

Answer:	You really don't need instructions as this unit is clearly marked. Just be sure to connect the ground wire from your turntable to the preamp to stop any hum.

Answer:	No. This pre-amp is strictly for pre-amplifying (hence the name) the very low voltage output signal from a magnetic (MM) cartridge. The output of the pre-amplifier is then connected to an auxiliary input jack of a receiver.
Question:	Will this work so i can listen to my vinyls with headphones
Answer:	Yes, there is a 1/4" headphone jack on the front panel. If your headphones/earbuds us a 1/8" plug you will need a 1/8" to 1/4" stereo headphone adapter which are readily available. Also, for best results make certain that your turntable is grounded to the unit.

Answer:	This small unit is strictly for providing power from your receiver to your turntable. I had an old receiver that had an outlet for my turntable to plug into, so the power source came from there. I recently had to purchase a new receiver (previous one mentioned was 40 years old and owed me nothing) but it did not have an outlet for my turntable. Answer:	You can hook it up to anything with a red and white connection. Or if you get the rca to 3.5mm jack then you can hook it up to anything with an input slot. I used this on my realistic lab 440 which doesn't have a preamp. Once I connected the ground from my turntable into the ground slot on this amp, my music sounded loud and clear.

The Receiver should have multiple inputs for receiving signals from eg. CD, Tape, VCR, etc. In my experience those labels are for convenience and interchangeable with the exception of a "Phono" input. NOTE: If the receiver has a "Phono" input then there's a built-in preamp. If your using an external preamp (Pyle PP999) do NOT plug it into the Receiver's 'Phono' input, it could cause damage. Question:	Can i use this as a preamp for my presonus audiobox usb
Answer:	Yes, it should work fine. Your mic or instrument goes direct into the pre-amp and then just run a short cable from the output of the pre-amp into the channel input of the audio box you want to use. I got one of these recently and am pretty happy with the sound and ease of use. I did take others advice though and swap out the tube for a higher quality one which is pretty easy to do.
Question:	How to do I connect this to a Audio Interface
Answer:	This is a microphone preamp, not an audio interface. You would run your microphone to an input on this Presonus, and then there is either an XLR or 1/4 output that you would plug into another USB-type audio interface to go into a computer.

Answer:	Most likely. I go from my record player to this to a mixer. So I'm guessing your receiver probably has an aux in which is what you plug into from the art.

Answer:	Sansui? Ceramic's, as I recall, can run close to 1 V output. This preamp is designed for moving magnet cartridges (not moving coil) that produce ~ 5 mV output. Even at -10 dB on the gain/attenuation knob, it would still be too hot. 1 V with -10 dB attenuation is ~ 300 mV which is far more than supported. Per manufacturer, max input is 40 mV. So, no, this won't work with your ceramic cartridge.

Answer:	Without a ground wire, there may be a discernible hum. I have a Yamaha PF 1000 and the ground wire is is a must.

Answer:	I've had both, and kept the DJpre. There's a thread on an audio science forum where a user conducted a thorough level-matched test of both the Pluto and the DJpre with an oscilloscope and other precision instruments. They both performed very well, but the DJpre came out decidedly on top in several key categories. Whether that translates to a noticeable difference in sound quality depends on the listener, but the DJpre is empirically better than the already good Pluto. He also found that the DJpre performed best when the low cut rumble filter was on--not only did it kill the sub-20hz sounds, it actually boosted the audible frequency response across the board (particularly the highs where the Pluto tends to roll off). This is easily the best phono pre at $50 and under, and performs better than units costing twice as much. You'd have to spend $250+ to get a better pre, and even then it'll only be a miniscule improvement.

Answer:	I have not used a wireless sub of any kind with this unit, but I would be surprised if this worked with a BT sub. The BT on this unit as far as I have read will pair with a device as an “input” to the receiver for audio but will not transmit to an external device. I would not count on using it this way.

Answer:	I just purchased this receiver. N803 and YES, hooked up my EQ. Here is how. 1st depends on how many INPUTS you have on your EQ. Mine has 6. Plug in devices you have into INPUTS you have on back of EQ. Phono, Tape, Tuner, Aux, etc. Device name is only to help you remember what is hocked up. where. You could plug in CD player into Tuner INPUT. It's just a memory thing. Now your OUTPUT on the EQ, hook to the back of your RECEIVER IN LINE 2 OR 3. NOT 1. You need an OUTPUT. This would be like adding a reel to reel to tape to. But you don't have to. [1 doesn't have an output.] I hooked up to [Line2] on receiver. Turn dial on receiver to [Line 2]. Control your devices you want to listen to on EQ, not the receiver. Receiver will always be [Line 2]. this set up allows you, if your EQ has memory to program each device, save the settings from one device to another. Change settings by a push of a button. Answer:	For personal use yes they can be recycled once sanitized correctly. Not sure how many times it can be done. The base many survive longer than the covers.
