There are two buttons on the top to adjust the volume up and down: when the radio is on it controls the radio volume (with V in front of the number) and when radio is off it controls the alarm (with L in front). Radio volume can be turned off all the way down but the lowest volume for alarm is level 3 so you will never “mute” your alarm by mistake.

Answer:	It's very adjustable and can be made very dim, but you can't turn it off. There is an adjustment screw on the bottom that's easy to access. However, if the backlight is dim, it becomes very difficult to read the clock, particularly at night.

Answer:	Yes, iit does work. It has digital tuning so you stay on the station. I know what you mean with the other "dial" tuning radios, waking up to static or no sound at all. I've never had a problem with tuning.
Question:	Can the alarm time be turned back, or only forward? That is, to change from 8:00am to 7:45am, do you have to push the button once for hour and 45 times for minutes
Answer:	Hours and minutes are set separately. If you are in the hour formatting phase, you cannot change the minutes. They must be set separately, using the same method/formats. To set TIME, press alarm button, press time set till you hear a beep, press tuning up or down to set the hour, THEN PRESS TIME SET AGAIN to set the minutes, and the minute digit will flash. Follow the same direction to set the minutes. Continue the same steps to select weekday/weekend alarms. You continue this process, starting with TIME SET, to select frequencies, bands, and type of alarm (radio/buzzer). When you have finished these settings, within 30 seconds all settings will completed automatically While you are pressing the button t select date and time, the increment comes in hours and minute intervals only.You should have a users manual with this information (page 7). If you don't have a manual, try calling Sangean (800-426-6027).
Question:	Does it have a battery in case of power failure
Answer:	It does not. It has a permanent energy storage device (assuming it is a SuperCap or something like that) that provides power for 10 minutes to keep time through brownouts. All settings other than the current time are stored in flash memory so they are permanently retained (alarm times, radio memory, etc.). The lack of a long-term battery may be a disadvantage for some people. For me, it seems like in my locale all we have are brownouts or very long outages, so the back-up batteries in most clocks aren't that useful to me, and you need to replace them every now and then. None of the clocks we have with batteries will actually alarm when the power is out, they just keep time. The power needs to come back on before the set time to get the alarm, which is seldom the case in a long outage.

Question:	How do you turn the alarm setting off? Do not want the alarm set at all
Answer:	I have not used the alarm. It was not set when I received the radio. But I imagine the booklet that came with it would say.
Question:	Can this be used with just the batteries if no wall socket is near
Answer:	I don't know for sure. There is a place for batteries which would kick in during a power outage.
Question:	Does it auto adjust for daylight savings time changes
Answer:	No, It is not auto-adjust for daylight.
Question:	Will the alarm clock and radio function with just the battery in case of power outage
Answer:	NO!! I just ordered this product, and while the settings for the alarm and the time will be retained during a power outage with batteries installed, the ALARM WILL NOT GO OFF (either alarm or radio) unless there is AC power. So if the power is out when your alarm is supposed to go off, NOTHING WILL HAPPEN. I find this to be a ridiculous design and do not recommend it for anyone to use.

Question:	Can the date and temp be displayed at the same time as the wake up times
Answer:	If you only have one alarm set, the temperature will still show on the left but the date will not show. If you have both alarms set, only the alarms times will show on the left and right.
Question:	What color is it? How many speakers? Does it have an antenna
Answer:	It is black and silver. One small speaker and it does not have an antenna. It shows temperature, date, and day of the week.
Question:	Is this radion am/fm, or fm only
Answer:	It is FM only.
Question:	Is there a way to listen to the radio while showing the time. After the radio is turned on, it only displays the radio frequency but not the time
Answer:	I have the same concern… Haven't figured how to have the time show when the radio is playing....

Answer:	Set Time Alarm Your clock allows the option to set a single alarm, weekday alarm or weekend alarm. ü Single-Will alarm at the same time every day when active. Question:	how long doe the nap alarm could be set up
Answer:	It plugs in the wall so that it can be lit up and seen at night. Batteries are recommended for backup in case you lose power to hold the time.
Question:	How do I get the NAP function to turn off? I press the Power (standby) button and it displays NAP off, but the display then still shows NAP
Answer:	Yes, however the screen will only stay lit all the time if you use the a/c cord. With batteries only, you have to press a button for it to light up and that's only for a few seconds. Battery power is not enough to power this type of color screen all the time.
Question:	how do I fix the fm antenna
Answer:	The alarm beeps and gets louder and faster until you press the button to turn off. It is not wake the dead loud, but loud enough to wake the average person. It is not atomic so will not automatically set.
