I personally do not care for the brightness at either setting, so I cut a piece of heavy white construction paper (about 6 1/2 X 3 1/2 inches), set the clock to dimmest setting and place the construction paper over the front of the display. The paper usually sticks there by itself (due to static electricity) and I only need it at night. The time is still visible in a dark room. Works great! |

That amount of attenuation is usually not enough to allow you to go into a mic input which is looking for a -50db signal...with a line device which is usually outputting about -10db....so even if you attenuate the -10db with this device then you will ebd up around -35db (-10 less 25db = -35db)....-35 is still too much signal strength for a mic input..it will distort severely unless the mic input sensitivity is adjustable in it's own unit by an input sensitivity control knob (NOT A Volume control knob!) |
