Answer:	You probably have the game by now, but for others who may see your question I'll add a little to the other answer. It is turn based, but there are three battle modes that range from the traditional turn based system to something closer to real time battle. On the default "wait" mode you go in order based on your characters agility(speed), when its your turn you can take all the time you want to choose your actions, time basically freezes. On the other end of the spectrum, time never stops but its still technically turned based so while you're deciding what kind of attack or ability or item you want to use the opponents will still be able to take their turns. Aside from the differences there you also have options to fast forward battles and to auto battle which simply repeats your actions until the battle is over. The interface for fighting is different from any other FF I've played, but with the push of a button you will see the classic interface we all know and love.
