Answer:	Power connection my not be good. The unit does have a lithium battery inside to preserve it's settings. If that went flat during storage it could pose an issue with the unit. If perhaps it was plugged in and worked previously, it is possible a surge may have damaged it. Always plug these units into an APC surge protector. Beware not to use the power strips from dollar stores. They do not protect anything at all. APC will back up their product if ever found defective. And also help replace the product the surge got through to. I have yet to see an APC unit let a surge get passed it. Also, try and pull the power off for about 5 to 10 minutes. Sometimes modern electronics get a little stuck in a certain position. Powering off from all power usually resets the product and power will flow again when reconnected. Just a thought.

Instructions:

1. Connect the audio signal line, install the battery ( two AAA batteries), long press the "power switch"  to boot for 3 seconds. Then the display shows the 87MHz transmit frequency.

Howe says on this thread, if you are buying the newer version of this (2013 or later), you need to modify the instructions at http://www.outlawradio.us/CCrane_Mod.html by turning the VR2 dial counterclockwise instead of clockwise. Also, be sure to remove the screw inside the battery case in addition to the ones under the two rubber feet, to get the unit open. The rubber feet can be removed by sliding a flathead screwdriver under them and nudging them off. You can then use the glue on them to reattach them when you close the unit up after the mod. Have fun!
Question:	I don't have a headphone jack if I use the Phono Line Outs from my tv will I need a preamplifier
Answer:	The manufacturer's website claims 45 feet line of sight, and in my experience that's probably about right. With a good clear frequency you should be able to get decent reception with a portable radio with it's antenna extended for about 30-45 feet and worse reception further out. For instance, I was able to detect a signal coming from about 100 feet away and through two walls, but only by holding my receiver just right in the right part of the room, and I wouldn't have wanted to sit down and listen to a broadcast of that quality, whereas at short range you can get crystal-clear stereo audio. Choosing a clear frequency is key. The furthest I've caught a faint outline of my transmission with nothing but a pane of glass between me and the actual transmitter was about 220 feet on a basically-empty channel, but if you try to get your Crane to compete with one of the strongest nearby radio stations, it will only overpower it for about 1-4 feet. Also, your millage will definitely vary depending on whether you have a decent antenna on your receiving radio.

1. Setting of backlight LED mode

When the power is off, press the “FRE-” and “FRE+” button at the same time to start up. B1 indicates always bright. B0 indicates that the backlight is closed for 20 seconds, and the reset setting takes effect. (the factory defaults to 20 seconds of backlight delay).

2. Start/close the campus radio frequency band
