Question:	What is the "instrument/line thru" for
Answer:	So you can sing in time/key. You feed it with either your guitar or keyboard, or any line signal from the main band mixer you want and you adjust the balance of loudness between your own mic and the feed. Or you can use without this input and just hear your own mic relative to the ambient acoustic sound of the live performance.
Question:	How much power can the stereo monitor input tolerate before it starts to distort (or worse, damage). E.g. Can it safely tap an amplifier output
Answer:	Don't know...can't get the two I've ordered separately to work properly to use even! These units are not being tested properly at quality control level before being shipped it appears. Cool concept though. Grrrr
Question:	Can you use this for practice without and amp
Answer:	No you cannot. The input has to be amplified. You would need something that emulates an amplifier like a Sans Amp.
Question:	Does this supply 48v phantom power
Answer:	It does not supply phantom power, just passively (whether unit is on or off) passes it.

The ART HeadTap Headphone Tap is a passive device with an input to connect the PA or monitor amplifier and an output to connect your headphones. Sometimes floor monitors are a problem. There isn't enough room for them onstage or someone sits in and can't hear the monitors, or the drummer can't hear them well enough. Or perhaps it's a pickup gig or a rehearsal and you didn't have enough time to set them up. In any case, sometimes it's preferable to just to put on headphones and somehow connect them to the PA. That's where a headphone tap comes in. A volume control regulates the headphone output and internal resistors keep the unit's impedance high enough to protect the phones. It also protects the amplifier from encountering too low a load impedance while powering tap units, the speaker system, or several tap units by themselves. The HeadTAP will also work with a stereo headphone amplifier for use in recording situations when you want to add headphones for additional performers.

Question:	Is it suitable for Guitar pedalboard? I just want to hear the sound of my guitar pedalboard output to headphone
Answer:	I put it direct in parallel with a monitor speaker line. The volume knob can attenuate the signal going out to headphones. I don't think it will amplify the signal. It just drops a speaker main level down so you can listen to it with headphones. Great for monitor mix on stage.
Question:	Still need a speaker load if plugged directly into amp head
Answer:	No. It stands in place of a speaker, so it provides a "load" to the amp so the amp is happy, and also doesn't require power to drive your headphones. And, you can jump out of the headtap to perhaps another headtap. I wouldn't go from amp, to headtap, to speaker—that to me would seem like a bad idea (though not necessarily disallowed).

Answer:	You want line-level outputs to feed powered PC speakers. Not amplified. That said, it will work, but you would have to keep the output VERY LOW so you don't kill your PC speakers.

Answer:	Yes but you do not need that amount of potency. Needs 110 to be used with it´s own transformer but you can use a cheaper 220 AC to 12 v DC (negative inside plug) of 200 milliamperes.

Answer:	Superb quality on sound leakage. Even with the volume at half maximum; blasting rock or hip-hop there's very little sound leakage where if you're more than 2 feet away you wouldn't hear anything. Watching movies or gaming you could probably turn the volume up near maximum and not be able to hear anything from these. These are Outstanding truly closed back cans on in every conceivable aspect. These are NOT NOISE CANCELLING Headphones though and you may hear a little leakage when you have them cranked up. The earpads are really nice though and do an excellent job at helping provide an expanded soundstage while at the same time holding sound in. I am a very happy owner of these headphones and as an Audiophile myself I can highly recommend these headphones. The specs on these were extremely accurate in my objective opinion and when you compare the specs to other audiophile or High-Res Headphones in this price range and above you can see these headphones are Outstanding.

The USB DI takes in USB audio, converts it to analog audio and then isolates the output using custom transformers. The output isolation is key to removing ground loops and other system noise between the digital and analog audio systems. A large knob on the USNDI front panel allows quick, precise control over the output level, while a separate headphone output allows the user to monitor the system. Question:	I'm going to run a simple setup where I have one main input, and simple headphone outputs. Can I access all the needed jacks from the rear
Answer:	Hi, yes there are 2 headphone outs for each channel on the back, as well as the main stereo input (both 1/4" and XLR inputs) and a stereo through output on the back, if you wanted the signal to move onto another piece of gear. The only thing not available on the back are the aux inputs. Those can only be accessed via the front panel aux input jacks (for running an extra signal into each channel to boost, say a vocal for the vocalist that he can then boost higher than the mix). You say you're running in mono, so you would just go into the left or right input on the back, and then press the mono button on the front (which sums left and right) to give you a mono signal going to both sides of the headphones.If you buy it from us, Pixel Pro Audio, we'll be happy to provide free email and phone support if you have any questions after you get it and start using it.

Question:	Does it come with power adapter that works with 240 v ac 50-60 hz
Answer:	It's tough to say. Hum can come from a whole number of issues. It can come from grounding issues, which is what this unit isolates and prevents. That's the most common cause of hum. That said, hum can happen for other reasons, such as failing capacitors or other electronic components, it can also come from certain gear with poor or improper grounding physically touching each other. This won't fix those problems. It will only fix the most common grounding hum issues I mentioned up top.

Answer:	Electrically the XLR output and 1/4" output are wired in parallel in the T8 so if your 1/4" connection is TRS (balanced) then you can connect to both with only a possible small decrease in signal level. But if your 1/4" connection is only TS (unbalanced) that will affect your XLR output as well which could cause problems with the XLR signal. Just keep in mind that your 1/4" and XLR outputs will not be isolated from each other so you may experience some interference (hum or buzz) depending on what they connect to or if either output feeds a long cable or they feed devices on different grounds. If the output cables are relatively short and connect to devices on the same ground it should work fine.

They are isolation transformers, and are used to make connections while breaking ground loop problems, etc. However, they don't do impedance matching, which is where a true DI comes in. The signal level going in is the same going out.IF your DAW interface has instrument level preamps built into it, then this unit will work for you. But if they are line level inputs, the output of this unit will not be sufficient to give a strong enough signal.In my studio, for example, i have a lot of keyboards all going into the ART units, and then into my console's line inputs. The preamps in the console boost the signal to a level usable by Pro Tools or Tape Machines.For a true DI solution, you might want to look into the Behringer Ultra DI Pro DI800 or the Radial Pro D8.

Question:	Do these suppress engine noise
Answer:	They suppress all noise by virtue of the seal around the ear, but they won't block it out because they're not technically noise canceling (no active noise suppression). They also do better with high frequency noise and aren't as good in low frequency where much engine noise lies, which is true of all things that only passively block noise eg ear plugs. So the answer is yes to a limited degree, but it won't be a complete suppression by any means and more in the high frequencies. I've found the combo of these with earplugs to be very effective for airplane noise.

Answer:	The cord is not detachable but it is replaceable.If you're handy with a soldering iron you can however easily add a 3.5mm headphone jack to use a removable cable.

Answer:	There is "sound leakage". At the moment, I have them hooked up to my computer. No special amplification, just on-board Realtek. At 75-100% volume, I can slightly hear them over ambient noise (such as my heater, which is kind of loud) while standing about ten feet away. I don't know if everyone else that answered this question listens to their music at low volume, or if their headphones have some insulation that mine doesn't but in my experience, there is plenty of "sound leakage". Also, you could actually use these as speakers while you're not wearing them. They wouldn't be loud enough to entertain anyone, but you could still listen to something while they sit on your desk.
