Answer:	I doubt that would be a good idea. The case is thick and the device buttons would down inside the hole you make.

Answer:	Unfortunately, Fintie has decided to go with a different style for the 2020 HD 8 / HD 8 Plus. The ring will not be available and, according to their customer support, the company only makes one case style per tablet, as the mold costs are high. You can get their latest offering for the Fire HD 8 by going to Amazon and typing in "B08FFPP6P7" (without the quotes) and see the new case. It uses a "kickstand" instead of the ring and does not rotate. The reason for this design, according to Fintie, is that it allows the protective case to be thinner and less bulky, which cannot be accomplished using the TuaTara Ring.

And any magnetic mounts would have to be attached to the outside of this case it's about a quarter inch thick maybe thicker so I do not believe if you had amount already attached to the back of your tablet that it would work through the case. This is this case is very thick so it provides a lot of protection but it also makes the tablet very heavy so in all honesty I don't even know if a magnetic mount would work unless it was really really strong certainly not the ones for cell phones
