Answer:	I believe an indestructible plastic case of some kind would be better suited for that age group. While I'm not casting a shadow on the case's capabilities, I don't think it would protect it from downforce pressure and inevitable drops, spills, etc. I'm a hold-over from the Civil War era and instinctively protect things I do no wish to replace, so this case is great for me. Answer:	I can't tell, by the numbers you gave, which case you need, but if you look at the fintie ad with all its pictures, you can see if their power-button, volume-control button, charging-port, headphone-jack and speaker-holes match up with YOUR Fire. Those things are located in very different places on the two different "generations" of Fires. This fintie is for the newer model (released in late 2013) I looked at the pics of the case (they have one that compares the two generations with the case) and looked at my Fire to double check hole placement and did okay; my fintie fits great. My Fire has a rocker-button for volume, and the fintie's hole for it encompasses the headphone jack as well.HTH!!!!
