8 best car securities
Car security systems encompass a range of technologies and products designed to protect vehicles from theft, damage, or unauthorized access. While they may not be directly related to repeaters, networking products, computer accessories, or electronics, car security systems often incorporate electronic components and may interface with these technologies. Here are some key aspects of car security systems:
Keyless Entry Systems: These systems allow drivers to lock, unlock, and start their vehicles without using a physical key. Instead, they rely on electronic key fobs that emit radio signals to communicate with the car's onboard computer. Proper encryption and security measures are crucial to prevent unauthorized access.
Alarm Systems: Car alarms are designed to deter theft and vandalism. They can include sensors for detecting motion, impact, glass breakage, and unauthorized entry. When triggered, they emit a loud siren and often flash the vehicle's lights.
Immobilizers: Immobilizers prevent a car from starting unless the correct electronic key or transponder is present. This technology has been effective in reducing car theft.
GPS Tracking: Many modern car security systems include GPS tracking capabilities. This allows the owner or law enforcement to track the vehicle's location in real-time if it's stolen.
Remote Start Systems: These systems allow the owner to start the car remotely, often via a smartphone app. They can also include security features such as remote locking and alarm activation.
Steering Wheel Locks: Steering wheel locks are physical devices that make it difficult for a thief to steer the vehicle, even if they manage to start it. They serve as a visible deterrent.
Security Cameras: Some advanced car security systems include onboard cameras that record video footage in case of a security event, which can be useful for identifying thieves or vandals.
OBD-II Port Locks: The On-Board Diagnostics II (OBD-II) port in vehicles can be vulnerable to hacking. OBD-II port locks protect against unauthorized access to the vehicle's computer systems through this port.
Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS): While primarily for safety and efficiency, TPMS can indirectly contribute to vehicle security by alerting the owner to tire tampering or theft.
Electronic Vehicle Immobilization: Some advanced car security systems can remotely immobilize a stolen vehicle by cutting off fuel supply or power to the engine, rendering it inoperable.
It's important to choose car security products from reputable manufacturers and ensure they are installed and configured correctly. Additionally, regularly updating firmware and software for these systems is essential to stay protected against evolving security threats. While these systems can enhance the security of your vehicle, no system is completely foolproof, so it's also important to take other precautions, such as parking in well-lit areas and not leaving valuables in the car.

The Viper 5706v Responder LC3 is a complete security and remote start system with a full one mile range. The remote has easy to understand priority icons and a text screen on a LCD display. This allows you to command and monitor the vehicle with simple and prioritized buttons. The five buttons control up to 24 different functions on two cars! Plus, it is the slimmest display remote on the market today but still packed with the latest features. Not only is this a security system but it also has remote start capabilities. If the Active Temp Check is selected, the Responder will display the temperature inside of the vehicle instead of the time. This comes in handy as it lets you view the temperature before actually walking to your car. Not cool, or warm enough in your car yet? Use the Runtime reset to extend your runtime and let it reach the perfect conditions. If anything happens to your vehicle, the security system will notify you right away if you are within range, playing the Revenger siren tones.

User questions & answers
Question: | Can I use this only as a Security System, without the remote starter? I need just the basic function without tampering the car system. Thank you |
Answer: | Yes, I did exactly that. I have a standard transmission and decided not to do the remote start (because I don't need it and it was going to be more expensive and complicated). |
Question: | Is the 2016 Mazda 3 so advanced that I need the bypass module for the basic car alarm installation? Installer said so |
Answer: | I Believe any vehicle with a factory alarm system Has to have the bypass to overide the factory settings. I have had three of the viper 5706 V 2 way security systems installed in three different maunufactured vehicles and all needed the bypass, though some other security systems may offer a bypass as part as their complete system. Hope this helps! |
Question: | Does this come with a wiring diagram? Need to fit myself as in NZ and car not listed as Japan only model Mazda MPV |
Answer: | it will come with vipers wiring diagram for the alarm. you will need your vehicles wiring diagram when installing. |

Viper 5706V 2-Way Car Security with Remote Start System
Responder LC3 – the 3rd generation of Responder, complete with SST One Mile Range, the new Priority icons and text seen on a 20% larger liquid-crystal display, an onboard lithium-ion rechargeable battery with micro-USB recharging – all in the slimmest display remote on the market.
Combining one of the best features of Responder with all the 'New Technology Platform' advances introduced with one of the Best of Innovations Responder LE, Responder LC3 systems come with one 2-Way LC3 SST one mile range remote and a companion 1-way long range remote.
Responder LC3 lets you command and monitor your vehicle like never before, with our Priority icons – simple and prioritized for easy use - plus clear text labels on the large LCD screen. With the Priority User Interface, the five buttons control 24 functions on each of two cars! And with the Priority Icon Map, the most important icons reside in the center of the large LCD screen, 3 times larger than the less-critical icons positioned on the edges of the screen. It’s undeniably the most sophisticated one mile range LCD remote ever!
In remote start mode, if Active Temp Check is selected, Responder LC3 will display Temperature (in either Fahrenheit or Celsius) instead of the time (the default display). Now you can see the actual temperature inside the vehicle, before walking through the weather to get to it! If it isn’t warm enough inside your car yet, use Runtime Reset to extend your runtime. Don’t worry about forgetting about your car – Responder LC3 reminds you 3 minutes before your time runs out, with an audible tone, a vibration, and on the screen.
If anything happens to your vehicle, Responder LC3 notifies you right away if you are within range, playing the Revenger siren tones from inside your pocket. If anything has happened to your vehicle during your absence, LC3 spells out what happened when you unlock your doors: 'Shock Sensor' for example:
you can silence your car’s siren and only be alerted on your remote, with Silent Mode2 sirenless arming. Arm your alarm with the door open and Responder LC3 will alert you – audibly and with large readable text: 'Door Open'. Responder LC3 gives you an unprecedented level of control.
Only the important icons are displayed - unused icons disappear from the screen to keep the display clean and simple. 'Ghosted' icons – outlined icons only without their typical solid body - indicate that you’ve changed something. For instance, while a solid padlock icon shows your alarm is armed and your doors are locked, an outlined padlock indicates your doors are locked in Valet Mode. The words 'Valet Mode' appear to make sure you’re clear on the status of your car.
Some of the many New Technology Platform features incorporated into the system include:

User questions & answers
Question: | can i use this and watch on my desktop computer |
Answer: | This is the main thing I don't like about Ring Pro, they have not bothered to make it work with live view for Windows 7. This tells me that like many companies they don't care or bother to make their products backward compatible. If you decided to upgrade to Windows 10 despite all negative pushy attempts to force it upon us by Microsoft, you are in the Live View club. If you choose to stick with Windows 7 and wait until Windows 10 OS issues are resolved before upgrading or buying a new system, your out of luck. Thanks, Ring! I feel like you truly care about all customer's needs. |
Question: | Do you have to pay for cloud service |
Answer: | there are some other products that you don't have to pay for cloud service but they do not have the analytics and features of this product... all the brains of what this devices does are in the cloud |

User questions & answers
Question: | My family has two appartments next to each other, both separate electrical installations. Would this work if we wanted to split the internet bill |
Answer: | Yes the EX8000 used as a wifi extender you have the option of having a guest network. You can use same SSID name as your main router or use a different SSID altogether. I did have issues with more than one extender on the same network using same SSID name as main router so I had to change one of the extenders to a different SSID. |
Question: | Has anyone connected a ps4 of xbox one to the wifi from the range extender? if so, signal and game play any good |
Answer: | If you mean an AT&T router signal, yes. If you mean cell tower signal, then no. |
Question: | Does it create a new sid or does it exteneded your current sid, so one does not have to switch to differing networks when in range |
Answer: | the input voltage is from 100 to 240 volts |
Question: | I don't understand how some people give this 4-5 stars and others can't get it to work and give it 1 star |
Answer: | there are 4 ports. I use multiple ones as this is the only system I can find that does not change the network name but once a year I also have one break and have to replace it or hard reset it myself. |
