Answer:	You can as long as your IP camera does not use Power over Ethernet. This device converts Ethernet to fiber, that's all, but does it nicely

Answer:	Yes and better stability. Switch your cable to cat 7 for better speed. If your willing to spend the money, get a 3ft cat7 cable connect that cable from modem to this converter, get a FO cable for 100 ft run ( they are about $40 to $50 on eBay) connect the cable to a second converter at the end of the run and use a 3ft cat 7 cable to connect to your device. By the way on the back of the converter there is a switch that says auto and force, switch it to force. Answer:	I contacted TP-Link to ask them this question. Version 4 of the product supports 10/100/1000 auto-negotiation. Version 3 and older only supports gigabit.

You also need to check if wavelength of HP matches converter (it should be 850 nm (and not 1310nm - some MM transceivers are 1300/1310), AND - even more importantly, and this is not always obvious - datarate (speed) must be Gigabit (or 1.25G in some specs) - because fiber ports, unlike UTP ports can't do autosensing. If HP GBIC is Gigabit speed (1.25G), 850 nm - then chances are, that it can work

Answer:	yes it shows 16th of an inch as well as decimal increments. As far as I know you can't set the fraction to round up to a larger fraction. I would be interested to know if anyone has been able to set it to say...1/8 or 1/4" increments. I don't use 16ths in my drawings.

Answer:	In short, yes. However I would point out that unless your cable runs exceed ~350ft; running fiber would be overkill. Most homes in the US can get away with CAT6 cable runs and still be within the 350ft range. A good use example for this type of device would be connecting two network segments separated by thousands (or tens of thousands) of feet; like two buildings on a college campus.

Answer:	It depends on your needs. Needs are based on the number of devices connected and the size of area you are trying to cover. I would highly recommend a mesh network unless your home is 1200sqft or smaller. A centrally located router could cover that. The biggest problem is getting the 5ghz frequency to reach throughout the home. The 5ghz gives you speeds over 30mbps on wireless devices. 5ghz will reach roughly 40ft in all directions from your access point (ap). A mesh system gives you multiple ap and thus more area covered by the 5ghz.
Question:	How many devices can connect at once? Is that that the 8x refers to
Answer:	The 8x doesn't refer to the number of devices you can connect to it. You only want to connect one device and that's your WiFi router. You wireless router determines how many devices can be connect based on the available number of ip addresses on the wireless device. The 8x refers to the speed of Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification (DOCSIS). Its informing you on the speed of DOCSIS 2.0 vs the newer DOCSIS 3.0. Ultimately your speed will be determined by how much you want to pay your internet provider. And you can determine how many devices you want to connect by the router you choose.
Question:	Do I also have to buy a router for the modem? And to make sure it obviously speeds up internet connection right
Answer:	If you only need to have one computer hooked up to the internet you do not need a router. Answer:	Because Amazon hasn't corrected their product subscription. I submitted one two weeks ago and has yet to be done. If you need more than 1 ethernet port, then this one is not for you. This has only (1) 2.5 Multi-Gig port.

Answer:	Hello. I am writing this Dec 2, 2020 and just activated this modem 2 days ago with Spectrum. It is not on the list of approved modems, but oddly enough the CM400 is. I just told the tech support who activated it that it was compatible and it's worked fine with no problems. I went from 100-120 mbs on my 100 mb plan to 250 to 450 mbs, still on the 100 mb plan. This modem is not on the list of approved models but it seems to work fine so far without periodic latency/drops like the Arris model from Spectrum had.

Answer:	I believe the above answers are not exactly true. The rated speeds are the maximum theoretical speeds possible for the chip, but not what you would ever see in real life. Take a look at these comparisons of two TP-Link AV500 / 600 units: https://www.smallnetbuilder.com/lanwan/lanwan-reviews/32454-tp-link-homeplug-head-to-head?start=2 In actual tests, both of them were significantly below 500 Mbps, with the cheaper one averaging more like 70 Mbps. With that in mind, I would expect a faster chip to give better performance, even if you are limited by ISP speed. You will not see the full bandwidth from your ISP in any case due to losses in the system. Since the two compared above had the same (or at least very similar) rated speeds but very different real-world speeds, it seems to indicate that the newer chips and whatever other hardware and firmware go into these things simply perform better than the old ones. My recommendation is to look for sites that give actual measurements of these things' performance and decide from there which one is the best value for you. As a personal note, I have a couple of these ones (the AV1000 model). My ISP gives 100 Mbps download speed, and I am seeing between 50-80 Mbps in actual use, depending on which plugs I use. I haven't been able to test LAN speed yet for local transfers, because I need to order a couple more first.
