6 best cisco 4g antennas

Cisco 4G antennas are specialized networking components designed to enhance the wireless connectivity of Cisco networking products, particularly those that utilize 4G/LTE technology. These antennas play a crucial role in improving signal strength, coverage, and overall network performance. Here is what you need to know about Cisco 4G antennas:

  1. Compatibility: Cisco 4G antennas are specifically designed to work with Cisco routers, modems, and other networking devices that support 4G/LTE connectivity. They are engineered to seamlessly integrate with Cisco networking products for optimal performance.

  2. Types of Antennas: Cisco offers a range of 4G antennas to meet various networking requirements. The two main types of antennas are:

    • Omni-Directional Antennas: These antennas transmit and receive signals in all directions, providing 360-degree coverage. They are ideal for situations where the location of the 4G signal source is not fixed or when you need coverage in multiple directions.

    • Directional Antennas: Directional antennas focus their signal in a specific direction, providing higher gain and longer-range coverage in that direction. They are suitable for scenarios where you want to extend the reach of your 4G network in a particular area.

  3. Gain: Gain is an important specification for antennas, representing their ability to focus and amplify signals. Cisco 4G antennas come in various gain options, allowing you to choose the one that best suits your coverage needs. Higher gain antennas typically offer longer-range coverage but may have a more limited coverage area.

  4. Installation: Proper installation of Cisco 4G antennas is crucial for optimal performance. They are typically mounted externally, often on rooftops or walls, to ensure a clear line of sight to the cellular tower or 4G signal source. Cisco provides installation guidelines and accessories to facilitate the installation process.

  5. Antenna Diversity: Some Cisco 4G routers and modems support antenna diversity, which means they can use multiple antennas simultaneously to improve signal reliability and minimize signal dropout. Cisco antennas designed for these devices are optimized for antenna diversity setups.

  6. Weatherproofing: Since many Cisco 4G antennas are installed outdoors, they are designed to be weatherproof and capable of withstanding various environmental conditions, including rain, wind, and extreme temperatures.

  7. Usage Scenarios: Cisco 4G antennas are commonly used in remote and rural areas where wired internet access is limited. They are also deployed in applications like mobile routers for vehicles, temporary network setups, and as backup solutions for primary internet connections.

In summary, Cisco 4G antennas are specialized networking components designed to enhance the wireless connectivity of Cisco networking products that support 4G/LTE technology. They come in different types, gain levels, and are suitable for various usage scenarios, offering improved signal strength and coverage for reliable network performance. Proper installation and compatibility with Cisco networking equipment are essential for their effective use.

User questions & answers

Question: Is this the best 4g outdoor antenna option for the new nim-lte-ea cell modules
Answer: I don't know what other products you are comparing to, but I have tried other range extenders and they were worse than not having one at all. This unit, in combination with the Netgear R7000 router, provides me the max speeds of my modem in rooms that used to get zero coverage with the R7000 alone.

User questions & answers

Question: Are these compatible with a multitech model mtcdt-lat1-210a
Answer: "Best" is not a term I would use universally for any product. This antenna works very well but from location to location, other antennas may work better. I have used this antenna at 50+ locations with very good results but have had to use a different manufacturer's directional antenna for some sites. Hope that helps
Question: Are these better antennas than the ones that come on a Spitz GL
Answer: Didn't know there's a 220v currency. What country is that? Just had to add.
Question: Im looking for an antenna i can attach to my cell phones. Will this do that & where would it attach
Answer: I've been told that you can but haven't tried it. One worked for what I needed it for.
Question: Will this fit and work on a jetpack 8800l mifi hotspot device
Answer: This comes with easy setup instructions and works as an extension of your router and works great. You don’t have to set your phone up to connect to it because I will use the same password as your router.

User questions & answers

Question: Will this antennas fit on a huawei lte cpe b
Answer: No, this is not really intended to connect directly to a cell phone. Most phones do not have a hook-up readily accessible to connect an external LTE antenna. However, although some may have an accessible connector, you would likely still need some sort of adapter as these proxicast antennas are scree on type and most onboard cellular antenna connectors are snap on / friction fit type. I believe this particular item is specifically intended for attachment to an existing, standalone proxicast modem/router.
Question: does it get damaged from the rain or i can leave it outside
Answer: No. The 8800L has TS9 antenna jacks. These antennas fit only SMA jacks. Consider this similar antenna which comes with TS plugs and magnetic bases: https://amzn.to/2yzlIpZ

There is small hole in the plastic on the top of the antenna - this is by design and is not a defect.

LTE devices should use 2 identical antennas for best results.

NOTE: The Verizon 4G LTE Broadband Router (Novatel T1114) requires the magnetic base option to install 2 antennas.

High gain antennas are appropriate when signal strength is below 60% (3 bars).
