By modulating the signal onto the wiring it reduces interfernce from other sources of 2.4Ghz radio waves, such as a microwave or other WiFi access points, it’s more secure, and has slightly reduced latency versus WiFi. Answer:	I'm not sure on this specific model but I did use one made by TrendNet which uses the same ASIX AX88179 Chipset. The trendnet adapter worked fine with no issues in the latest version of pfsense (2.2.4). Although I can't tell you how long the device will work on a home network long term. It may or may not work on any particular device other than a standard personal PC capable of running MS Windows. To answer your question one would need to know what kind of connection you are trying to make to your Xbox. For example, are you trying to connect the Ethernet port on your computer to the Xbox? Or are you simply trying to connect your Internet modem directly to the xBox? If you are simply trying to fire up your xBox with an Internet connection, this raises another question: Why can't you simply use an Ethernet cable to directly connect your Xbox to your Internet modem? Is there some reason to suspect that your xBox has lost its capability to connect to the Internet? If so, there is a good chance the UGREEN USB Ethernet Adapter might not work for this because your xBox will only be compatible with the UGREEN USB Adapter if the xBox has a motherboard that appears to anything you connect to it EXACTLY as a PC computer running MS Windows. Answer:	I am using it with Kubuntu Linux 18.04 LTS. It works fine. I have two ETHERNET connections and change the name of each to wired-pub (Internet) and wired-pvt (private). I set the speed for 1000 Mbps and Full Duplex. Then I use the nmcli command i.e. nmcli connection modify wired-pub ipv4 dot route-metric 150, and the wired-pvt metric to 250 (this device is access to my private network) and that ensures that no matter which connection is set up first I always get the internet on the correct subnet. I use virtualbox software to create virtual machines. Have also tried this on Windows 7 & Windows 8.1 machines and am able to set the metric for the interface to get each to work as they should. No complaints so far
