Answer:	I had not problem using the knife with a fire starter but it is my understanding that ferro rods can have different harness ratings. The lock on my knife is still very strong after I think 8 years now of daily carry but I might have just gotten a gem. Either way for the price I don't think you can get a better pocket knife.

Answer:	It fits the standard mouth Hydro Flask bottles nicely, but that is a pretty tight fit. Anything larger will be problematic. My 40oz wide mouth Hydro Flask won’t fit.
