You're not out that much money, and it is a useful bag. It should be sturdy enough to last. The only problem is the main flap "buckles" are cosmetic. They are actually those magnetic clippy things, and might not be as secure as you would like. but with the weight in the bag, they may be just fine.

Answer:	I am 5'6" and the strap can be adjusted at both end to hang cross body, well past my hips. My son is 6'2" and when fully extended it fits him comfortably at the hip cross body. Front 2 closures are magnetic, but there is a zipper that keeps everything in the main body secure. 2 smaller pockets gave 2heavy duty snap closures each.

Answer:	It may be a little big but a nice bag to grow into. My sons are 9 and 11 and have had it almost a year and it works well for them. Lots of pockets. Only downside is the bag has a faded look to it.
