Answer:	Well since it's a 76mm aperture 3 inches in theory would cover the mirror but to be safe I would go slightly beyond that. The outer measurement of the opening is approximately 3 and 1/2 inches and the inner is 3 and 7/8". I'm assuming you're making your own solar filter that is going to fit over the end of the telescope so you'd want it to fit snug so hope those measurements help. Clear skies!

Answer:	No. The zipper goes from the middle of one side to the middle of the opposite side. About half of the perimeter, which is plenty for taking your laptop in and out.

Question:	is this case waterproof
Answer:	No.I often have my laptop in the case while walking in the rain and I've had no issues with the laptop getting wet.However I tested to see if it was actually waterproof or not by submerging the case with a piece of paper in it under a couple inches of water. The back side of the case is made of soft but quite permeable material so thanks to the pressure of the water it seeped through and soaked the paper.Water resistant? YesWater proof? No
