Answer:	Yes. I had bought a spare for my wife's Gen 7 Carbon X1 and it fits the same onto my new Gen 8 Carbon X1. I just put it on today and it fits perfectly. Gen 8 did not change any of the chassis components - all changes were internal. So this case fits EXACTLY THE SAME on the Gen 7 as on the Gen 8. I personally love this case because it provides legs to elevate the back end, keeps the vents clear, protects against finger smudges, and allows you to put stickers on the exterior case without making them permanent.
