Answer:	The warranty is on workmanship only. Not normal use, wear and tear or over stuffing.... I have been thru this with the swiss gear company.... I just had the zipper repaired by a seamstress...

Answer:	I've been using the same one going forth to Afghanistan (contractor) for 3 years. I have kept it packed pretty full of: my 17" Toshiba satellite computer, Neat scanner, all electrical device cords (aux plug cord, usb cord & extension, ear buds w/cords, electrical plug converter (Europe, Germany, middle east), battery packs, camera, flashlight, mp3 player, personal paperwork for deployment & travel documents, house and truck keys, note pad, ink pens & marks a lot, sewing kit, super glue, lots of travel snacks (peanuts, trail mix, cliff bars, jerky....etc.), 2 water bottles and a compass.... it shows signs of ware and only been repaired once on the bottom from a tear but the straps and handle are still going strong. And I promise ya I have put it thru its paces in ALL kinds of extreme climates!! I would definitely suggest this pack to anyone using it outdoors!!!! Hope this helps

Answer:	Not gonna lie, at 17.3 inches my laptop was smack at the top of the bag and made closing the zipper a gamble at best. i would say that they mean a very literal 17 inches and i feel like that is being generous. so no, i don't think it will fit.

Answer:	Bought mine in 2008 to go with my new 17" laptop; though the laptop actually does, shockingly, still work 9 years later, perhaps even more shockingly is that this bag still looks almost as good as the day I bought it, save one of the eyelets disappearing (oh and the plastic casing on the carrying strap is ripped up--but oddly the like steel cable beneath it is in perfect shape, hah). And I carried this daily for ~5 years and still bring it on every trip I ever take (as my "go bag" with the stuff I actually need to always have with me) and yeah, basically, I have never regretted my purchase for a moment.

But what it does not have is "shock absorbing shoulder straps" as stated in the description... but they are padded, which is not the same.Following is my original review of this backpack... but I received no response from Amazon or SwissGear... and the description has not been updated:We're disappointed with the purchase of this SwissGear "Legacy" backpack thru Amazon. The description states that it has "shock absorbing shoulder straps"... but they are basic padded shoulder straps... and the pictures of the upper portion were not clear enough to make that evident. I have the larger "Pegasus" version of this backpack that truly has the shock absorbing shoulder straps, which are wonderful for heavy loads. This backpack was purchased for my daughter to use at college for lugging around her books and smaller laptop specifically because of that feature. We are happy with every other feature of this "Legacy" backpack as they are very similar to my "Pegasus" one. The product description needs to be updated so that others looking for this shock absorbing feature are not disappointed with this version.

Answer:	Well I can tell you from my experience dealing with this company that you can forget any "lifetime warranty" they may offer. My backpack started falling apart within a months time and I contacted the company and sent them pictures of the product. They claimed that they never had this happen to one of their products before and refused to do anything about it. I have never dealt with a company with such awful customer service. So now I am stuck with a $100.00 worthless backpack. (Btw, the problem I had was the thread the product was sewn with seemed to be rotted and it broke apart.) In my opinion the product is not a quality product at all and not worth the price.

Answer:	It would go in there but it will be uncomfortable. I would not put more than 1/2 liter in any of the side pockets to make sure they would not fall out. But I'll use it to go on a plane not for hiking.
Question:	What is the Max Weight Load? and how does it hold up to time
Answer:	Bought this based on glowing durability recommendations and it has proven true or me. I carry reasonably heavy loads for short trips multiple times a week and the pack looks near perfect after 5+ years. Also, it is comfortable under a heavy load. The strap padding and handle are well designed. My only complaint being the durability trade off is heaviness, about 3.6# empty. Am looking now for a new pack that has the strength/durability of this one, but lighter in weight.

Answer:	My laptop measures 16 x 12.5 x 1 and it did NOT fit even though this bag's measurements for the interior laptop compartment says: 17 X 12.5 X 2.5 inches. The zippers could not close over a corner of the laptop. It's because the bag is smaller at the top than at the bottom. The laptop is an Alienware Area 51m. Bummer. I had to return the bag.

Answer:	I have a very similar Tumi backpack. It did not come with a lock. I have never seen a lock on a Tumi backpack.
Question:	How much does this backpack weigh
Answer:	The slot you are referring to next to side pocket is not for bottle of water but for cell phone. One of the side pockets has two zippers, so the idea is to keep bottle in it while zipped as much as you can to hold it in place, but unfortunately it doesn't work good with any average to larger size bottles. The lack of easily accessible water pocket is the reason I am not giving this backpack 5 stars

Answer:	Yes, this is an upgrade from previous version of this backpack. The 2 zippers pocket is intended for bottle so you can zip it up to hold the water on place. The pocket with 1 zipper that goes around doesn't keep water bottle in place hence this is a nice little upgrade
