Question:	Is this bag big enough for a middle schooler
Answer:	I would say, yes, that the size, style and sturdiness of the backpack is appropriate for a middle schooler. I bought this for a school district backpack drive from homeless students based on my experience with the use/abuse of backpacks by my own two sons. Some middle schoolers end up carrying multiple heavy textbooks and binders from school to home and back on a daily basis. I cannot say that this backpack would withstand that kind of very heavy load across an entire school year. However, many schools offer textbook access online or have class sets of texts at school to minimize the backpack load (and forgetting if texts at home or locker). Bottom line...a good, sturdy back pack for middle school use at a decent price point.
