| Answer: | The slot you are referring to next to side pocket is not for bottle of water but for cell phone. One of the side pockets has two zippers, so the idea is to keep bottle in it while zipped as much as you can to hold it in place, but unfortunately it doesn't work good with any average to larger size bottles. The lack of easily accessible water pocket is the reason I am not giving this backpack 5 stars |

| Answer: | It would be very tight. Even with a 13 inch there is not much room left on top. I’m not sure if you will be able to zip it up with a 14 inch. I would get a bag then that fits a 15 inch laptop to be on the safe side. |
