Answer:	Almost certainly yes: you may need to purchase a cable to connect it to the sata port on the motherboard, and go into the bios to update the settings and ensure your primary drive remains the boot drive

Answer:	Performance and longevity, the Blue is faster than the green and has a higher endurance rating (lasts longer). WD Green is essentially the economy line, which tends to also use less power, thus being an ECO line. I wouldn't recommend the green line unless web-browsing and office is the extent of your computer usage. The Blue has 5 times the endurance rating, 400TBW vs 80TBW, which is enough of a difference alone, for me.

Question:	How do you format this and why is that necessary for new drives? What stops me from plugging it right into my system and getting started
Answer:	Depends on what you're doing. You can connect this to your system but new drives will not be functional until you initialize them and create a partition under Disk Management. Your other option (what I did with this drive) is to disconnect your existing drive and then install this (while PC is off if that's not obvious). Then you have a blank drive in your system and can boot from an OS disc like Windows 10. A fresh Windows 10 installation will still recognize the drive and be able to initialize it properly as well as create the necessary partitions. Let me know if you have any follow up questions.

Answer:	Reviews have suggested that the two drives are VERY close in performance (nearly within margin of error of tests). The WD Black gen3 devices were the first ones to actually challenge the 960 EVO NVMe drives for dominance of the high-performance consumer grade SSDs. You can't go wrong with either one, as far as I can tell, at least from reviews. They'll provide insignificant differences in speed/performance between the two. Therefore, you should purchase based on price and (if it's important to you) warranty. Note also that the WD drive caps at 1TB in size (vs. 2 TB for the 970 EVO), so if you wanted to go that route, there's only one choice. As far as "best high-performance consumer level" NVMe drive, the 970 EVO and the 3rd generation WD black are on an even playing field, and both at the top of the stack (this ignores the "prosumer" market devices like the 970 Pro where prices are much higher per gigabyte). Note that it's possible that you won't notice any performance difference between these high-performance NVMe drives and, say, a high-quality SATA drive.

Answer:	The 960 Pro is from the previous generation. The newer one is the 970 Pro. Comparing the 960 Pro to the newer 970 EVO is a bit difficult because they aren't in the same class. The Primary difference between the Pro and the EVO is the Pro uses MLC (Multi Level Cell) whereas the EVO uses a Triple Level Cell. Case and point with the EVO. You can get a 2tb EVO drive but the Pro tops out at 1tb. The silicon is able to get more storage space for the real estate with TLC. On the other hand MLC is more reliable and more hearty than TLC which is why the Pro is using the MLC. Maybe you want to know about write endurance. One thing to keep in mind about write endurance is you will probably never come close to hitting it's limits unless you are using the drive all the time to save and load large files like a professional would. Also, the write endurance of the 1tb 970 Pro is double the write endurance of the 512gb 970 Pro. hardware review sites and done tests of the actual write cycle longevity of these drives and these drives last longer than what they're rated for. More than likely in your case, these drives will be long obsolete by the time they're half worn out. The write endurance of the 500gb 970 EVO is 300TB write cycles. Sequential R/W of the 970 EVO is 3400MB/s read and 2300MB/s write. I believe the 970 evo uses a Single Level Cell cache to boost write speeds. The write endurance of the 512gb 960 Pro is 400TB/wc. Sequential R/W of the 960 Pro is 3500MB/s read and 2100MB/s write The 970 series is more refined. Both use the updated Phoenix controller whereas the 960 series uses the Polaris controller. Both the 960 Pro and 970 EVO have a 5 year warranty. The older 960 EVO only has a 3 year warranty. The answer to this question between the 960 Pro and 970 Evo is simple........... get whichever is cheaper.

Answer:	for anyone else reading this, YES this will work for the Rog Strix B450-F gaming motherboard. The other user that answered saying you'd need an adapter is wrong. The Rog Strix B450-F Gaming mobo has two M.2 slots. I know, I have the same setup.

Answer:	The recommendation of Ghost as a cloning program is terrible. The consumer version of Norton Ghost was discontinued sometime back in 2013-2014. It was designed specifically for Windows 7 and is thus obsolete for today's hardware and software requirements. It's replacement, Symantec Ghost, was designed primarily for enterprise use. so unless you're working in an IT department environment, it's probably the worst choice for the home consumer who simply wants to upgrade their personal PC or laptop to a faster M.2 NVMW drive. There are plenty of free cloning software applications out there: AOMEI, Macrium, Clonezilla, and others. Go on the web, look up "free cloning software", read the reviews. I personally would go to the WD support website and take a look at their user forum. There are plenty of users there who have had hands on experience cloning to their WD M.2 NVMW devices; they provide detail as to what software works and what doesn't work for cloning.

Answer:	The WD blue SN550 does NOT come with screws. M3 screws should do the trick on 2.5" SSD Dell systems. You should have to go up a size for a 3.5" drive to a 6-32 (head pattern varies). Start with an M3 then if sloppy, use the thicker 6-32 screw.

Answer:	It works with security cameras. I have 7 Netvue cameras 1080 resolution and HD sound all with this micro sd card in each of them and it stores all the video footage on them including sound, I'm still able to receive motion detection & human alert detection notifications in the app (without any type of subscription or security service) view the video footage & sound for both notification types from the sd card via the app, as well as pick any part of the video footage timeline 14-30 days (based on activity) stored on the micro Sd card and then view any or all of the video footage right from the SD card via the app. You just have to first format the micro sd card. Very simple if you pop into sd card adapter, insert adaptor into card reader on Windows laptop or pc, open "my computer" once your computer/windows loads, right click on the micro sd card listed in my computer window and select "FORMAT", and you'll see in the little dialogue box that opens will show capacity: 119 GB, File System: exFAT (default) rather than FAT32, and at the bottom you should see a little box that's checked off for "Quick Format" and it should be checked off, and lastly click the FORMAT button. That's it, takes like 2 mins @ most from start to finish if you already have your laptop or PC powered up! And you'll see a confirmation that the Format completed within 30 seconds... Answer:	I would do a clean format of it on the imac first, you can choose exFAT (it will work on both PC and mac) or you can choose Mac OS Extended (HFS+) which is more stable than exFAT, but you will need software on your PC to read/write to the drive. If the PC is your main machine I would just choose exFAT.

Answer:	Your iMac has USB 3.0 which is also known as USB 3.1 Gen 1. That has about half the theoretical maximum transfer rate of USB 3.1 Gen 2, which is the interface used by this drive. On the upside, it is still fully compatible with USB 3.0/3.1 Gen 1 and while the transfer rate you’ll experience will be lower than if you had a computer with Gen 2 USB, it really isn’t that much slower in actual use. If you’re moving from any spinning platter drive to an SSD regardless of the interface you were using with the platter drive, you will see a HUGE performance improvement using this external SSD drive.

Answer:	I have two of these and am about to get a third. No, you don't need to download anything (at least on windows and linux computers). I reformat mine to NTFS because I switch between OS's. One thing to note the usb "A" adapter is "notched" and will only fit on one way completely, you probably got a bad one, it happens, send it back if no luck.

Answer:	Basically, my home setup is an all-Mac setup. What I did immediately after I got it out of the box was to format it and partition it 200 GB HFS+ and 800 GB APFS. The HFS+ partition is used for Time Machine, and the APFS partition has four volumes (capacity is allocated dynamically between volumes within the APFS partition). How I would use this in a mixed environment: one HFS+ partition for Time Machine (you can't use APFS partitions for Time Machine); one APFS partition for the files that will be used only with a Mac; and one ExFAT partition for instances where you need to be able to access the file in Windows and on a Mac. Also, make sure you keep that USB-C to USB-A connector that comes with the drive; it comes with about a 6-inch cable with USB-C connectors at both ends.

I have 2 that I use for this, be aware you may have to change your system setup to use, On mine I have to change SATA controller mode to AHCI from RAID and UEFI to Legacy support and boot priority to Legacy first (Lenovo). Once you have those setting fixed you will be amazed how fast it will run. I run fedora on a 1TB for storage and Fedora Securrity Spin on a 500 GB drive to use to recover data and fix customers machines. I have also run CentOS and Linux Mint with no issues.

Answer:	No. You need to open your computer and see if your motherboard has a plug for a second hard drive. If it doesn't, you could take out your CD player and use it's plug.

Answer:	The SK Hynix is faster than the Samsung. Just FYI,.. Hynix makes chips for just about “EVERYBODY” they just haven’t made SSD drives per se’ and marketed them under their own name until recently. Chances are, other SSDs “might” be using Hynix chips. It is a very fast and solid SSD. There have been numerous reports of Samsung issues as of 2018 so they aren’t as reliable as most think. Still generally speaking Samsung SSDs are decent. PCWORLD did a review in 2020 and rated the SD Hynix much better than the Samsung in speed with the same reliability and 5-year warranty. I own both SSDs and have had no problems with either. The Hynix is however the faster drive. I choose the SD Hynix.

Answer:	Just a bit of a history lesson. LG used to make semiconductors back in the day, as did Hyundai. But the competition was too hot in South Korea and there was a financial crisis in 1997 (like Greece 2009). Conglomerates shifted and merged businesses (Samsung sold its car production to Renault, Hyundai bought Kia, etc.). In line with the times, LG sold its semiconductor business to Hyundai in exchange for something else (I think it was Hyundai moving out of the display business). So it was Hyundai Hynix for a long time. More recently, Hynix was sold off to SK (another top 5 conglomerate in South Korea). So here we are in 2020, looking at an SK Hynix SSD. Like others have said, Hynix has been a household name for computer nerds for a long time. The top 3 memory manufacturers have been Samsung, Micron, and Hynix for decades.
