Name swap again! Now 3.1 is 3.2 gen 1, and 3.2 gen 2, and now there is a new one called 3.2 gen 2 by 2! It's maddening! | Answer: | Don't listen to the individual that tells you SSDs are a waste of time. Since you are looking at fast boot times, I would go with an SSD with at least 240-50GB of space for your OS. Generally, once the OS loads, it doesn't do too much. I would then buy a Hybrid or plattered drive (regular HD) to install and run all of your programs/games. No one really knows the full length of time on an SSD drive. It's just like a rewritable DVD/CD. Eventually, it will die. The Seagate hybrid is a good choice but not the 2.5 version. It spins at 5400rpm where the 3.5 spins at 7200rmp. Of course if cash isn't a problem and you backup regularly, you could get another larger SSD drive for all of you programs. |

You have to go to the Playstation website to download a small file and put it on a Thumb drive since this HDD does not have the PS4 OS info on them. My normal power up procedure is I turn it on first let the HDD motor hum for 60 seconds observe that the indicator light is on with slight alternating color from pink to violet, turn on the monitor and my xbox last. | Answer: | sorry this has taken sooo long i don't normally get things like this so i looked and look and i don't really see anything that indicates rpm sorry i can tell you what it says on the box about its transfer rate about a transfer rate up to 5.0gbit/s thats all i can find relay sorry but with my exp with it it works great it dosnt get to hot unless you run it for like hours upon hours but even then its not that bad it runs smoothly and quickly with my games. just remember to turn it on before you turn on you ps4 or anything it takes awille to turn on but by the time your ps4/3/5 ( it says it works with 5 in the instructions soo take that with a grain of salt) and gets to the start up screen its on so i wouldn't worry too much ( it tuns on when the console turns on but the switch needs to be on the on position) just remember to turn it off every time you turn off your console (do NOT turn it off with the ps in rest mode....learned that the hard way, didn't lose anything but gosh that was scary lol) i hope this helps as for its quality ill just have to wait and see how long it last (hopefully century's lol) |

| Answer: | If you’re using it on a PC, a regular SSD will pretty much always be noticeably faster. On consoles a this will give about the same load times on games once you’ve loaded the game a few times(due to the consoles not being able to fully take advantage of a SSD’s speed), in order for the drive to store frequently accessed files onto the flash part of the drive. |
